Was just wondering... When you decide you want to treat yourself... What do you do or buy for yourself

Craft stuff, stuff for my dolls house, or go out for a ride on my motorbike.

I've done the last 2 in the past week - spoiled little me!

Thorntons champagne truffles and I can't get to the shop at the moment!

Microneedling and garden plants

My treat is ‘fat day’ on Saturday when I eat the things I try not to eat the rest of the time, cheese, chocolate. And vodka to wash it down grin

I do treat myself regularly, a piece of chocolate, a gin and tonic, a good film, always a book on the go, pedicure and manicure now self administered when necessary, plants, paints and canvas, Eccles cake and much more.
My guilty pleasure, total waste of money addiction is a home/house magazine. Homes and Antiques, House and Garden, Ideal Home, Country Life, Etc.
In fact I have signed up to a regular subscription this month for four of them. Can’t wait.

A bunch of flowers.

A bag of sweets lol. I love pick & mix over chocolate so will treat myself, I don't drink, smoke or go out so that's my guilty pleasure. I love my garden and when my daughter asks me what I want for Christmas or Birthday I will always say a plant for the garden. She somehow feels the need to buy ornaments or toiletries I don't need, which I'm very grateful for but I always try to buy people presents they want rather than what I think they would like.

Wool, knitting patterns, craft stuff with a bar of Fruit and Nut chocolate - really I am a cheap date!

MamaCaz Fri 16-Oct-20 13:20:43

Like a lot of you, I am most likely to 'treat' myself to craft-related items.

What I would really like to treat myself to one day, if only I could both afford to and justify it without feeling guilty, would be a huge, fancy Easter egg from somewhere like Hotel Chocolat. Pure indulgence.

Paperbackwriter
Same here. And Parkers and Dobies. It's lovely though ?

This question has made me pause for reflection.

I love flowers and I usually have vases of them dotted around the house. Occasionally they're bought for me by my husband or family, but if none are forthcoming I buy my own. I've just realised that I can't remember buying myself flowers since I became ill a year ago. I did put some on the shopping list several months ago and my husband commented that he felt bad that he needed to be reminded.

I've been bogged down with ongoing health issues, juggling increasing pressures at work (homelessness is massively on the rise here) and family support needs, so I've neglected many of the things that bring me pleasure.

I recently made the decision to take Friday's off and I nearly manage it (my colleague has been on holiday for two weeks, so it's a bit difficult just now). I've finished what I need to do for today, so I'm going to order myself some flowers right now and for the rest of the day I'm going to take time to catch up on GN and look at my Family History research, both of which have been completely neglected for far too long.

MamaCaz - I am with you on the huge Easter egg. Mine would be from Hotel Chocolat. Enjoy and why not - life is toooooo short. grin

I’m too naughty too, for treats but .... I do bribe myself to be good with a new book, something for the garden or crafty stuff.

PetitFromage Fri 16-Oct-20 13:51:45

Hot bath with oils, perfume, good chocolate, books/Audible, music, red wine.

PetitFromage Fri 16-Oct-20 13:52:12

And throw in a morsel of delicious cheese!

GreenGran78 Fri 16-Oct-20 16:52:51

A bag of jammie doughnuts. I’m very easily pleased. Not too often though, because I make a pig of myself!

Chewbacca Fri 16-Oct-20 17:01:18

L'Occitane soap.

Minerva Fri 16-Oct-20 17:04:25

A Waitrose delivery. I love their Indian meals.

grannyrebel7 Fri 16-Oct-20 17:13:48

An Indian takeaway.

Stephenmarra Fri 16-Oct-20 17:23:04

A bottle of Single Malt.

Eviebeanz Fri 16-Oct-20 17:31:20

Agree with Blue sky - Perfume, shoes, bags, scarves, earrings, anything you like really. Had stopped recently cos of not going out but then decided to dress up at home. Nice bath while reading a good book and massage from DH

Susiewong65 Fri 16-Oct-20 19:24:04

A delicious Chablis or some liquorice.

Patsy70 Fri 16-Oct-20 19:34:04

Anything garden related and candles.

NotAGran55 Fri 16-Oct-20 19:34:13

L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil that doubles as a bath foam is my one indulgence. Expensive but a little goes a long way .It smells amazing and leaves the skin so soft and the fragrance lingers on the skin for ages .

Apple crumble and vanilla ice cream. Have it every year on my birthday. Got to be homemade with bramley apple and sugar flour butter crumble mix . No messing with it. My yearly treat. Small things are life's pleasures
