They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

Oh yes! the fortune telling chickengrin

A second series will be essential viewing for me - the friendship, the anecdotes and, of course, the wonderful scenery. Winning formula!

Wish I'd been able to travel through Britain when we relocated, but life had other plans...

All the best and happy fishing!

Is there a sheltered spot in a corner of your garden? Do you have leaf mulch from all the falling leaves? In one corner of our garden there's a pile of leaves, swept up and put there. It's a hotel room and before too long our first guest will be arriving. You have to make sure that the hotel room is safe, if it is, yo will also have a guest to stay for winter.

Ellianne, we have the big leafy pattern on the pillows and underside of quilts in granddaughter’s bedroom. Hope they’ll get to sleepover again one day soon. PS they did all the artwork themselves.

Our wow, that toucan canvas is brilliant!

What a cosy hotel room Spangler. Are you sure the visitor is allowed under current lockdown?
Trouble is any animal guests in my garden might be troubled by our dogs and cats.

What a jolly bedroom! All these jungle themed photos reminded me of a house we went to see when we were looking in this area. One of the bedrooms had walls (and some of the ceiling) covered entirely as a hand painted jungle! Trees with trailing vines, monkeys, exotic flowers and birds, snakes and even a tiger peeping through the undergrowth. It was amazing but I would have hated to have woken up in the middle of the night in there - I’d have screamed the place down! I’ve often wondered if someone painted over it!

Talking of jungle themes, this in DD's downstairs loo.

Puzzler61 Tue 03-Nov-20 17:43:01

I now have downstairs loo envy ! ?

Puzzler61 Tue 03-Nov-20 17:44:21

Ours is 1990’s seaside themed (with a pot of shells I scooped up and brought back from a beach in the Gulf of Mexico six years ago).

Greyduster Tue 03-Nov-20 18:20:40

That’s lovely! I saw some wallpaper with lemurs on recently - one of my favourite animals. DH was not impressed. No soul!

MissAdventure Tue 03-Nov-20 21:46:44

Grandmafrench Tue 03-Nov-20 21:51:45

grin
Mine's so boring, no excuse to linger

DanniRae Wed 04-Nov-20 09:59:35

Yes, in the world of loos that one is top notch! grin

Ellianne Wed 04-Nov-20 10:58:39

Well the loo has to compete with the dog's corner. He has designer wallpaper too, bless him. grin
Not sure if this photo will be clear enough to see.

Back to business.

We used to have a lovly view of the church from our window until someone went and built a great big shed/workshop right in front of it.
If I had the money I'd take a photo of the church and get it made into a wallpaper/mural I could paste on the wall so I could still see the view I miss.
A HUGE mural to cover the entire wall.

FannyCornforth Wed 04-Nov-20 11:15:53

Aah! I love the dog's corner Ellianne!

LauraNorder Wed 04-Nov-20 12:47:29

Loo envy here too. I’m encouraged to go bold as our bathroom and the ensuite are in need of decoration

Beechnut Wed 04-Nov-20 13:08:30

I think I’ll be taking a peek of that lovely loo every time I pop into this thread ?

Beechnut

I think I’ll be taking a peek of that lovely loo every time I pop into this thread ?

When this covid is all over perhaps those GNs who like it could book visits to the loo!
