1000 words. Photos on GN.

They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

Happy new year to 1000 words photo friends. I'm just messing around here to get us onto a new thread as this one must be about to go pop. So I will post a photo or two to move 2020 out.

Didn’t take a camera on our walk today - enough to worry about just staying upright (no I wasn’t drunk again!!). I’ve loved this thread and look forward to the next round! I would like to wish you all a peaceful, hopeful, and happy 2021!???????

Beautiful weather here today. Just been for a chilly, but lovely, walk by the river

Callistemon Thu 31-Dec-20 17:04:00

Sorry, everyone, I didn't take my camera or phone with me today so you will have to imagine the scene:

We walked halfway across a bridge over the river and spent some time watching a seagull.
He glided down on the current, when he got as far as the bridge (and out of the sunshine) he flew upstream a little 50 or so yards and glided down again. He must have done this about ten times - he looked absolutely blissful!
Then he flew back to join his friends further upstream.

Beautiful winter pictures. Nature is all around us.
Here the hotels have shut, the visitors gone, but the waves press on and the sun is trying to shine. A last splash before Monday's return to school.

Love that wee birds facial expression, Greyduster! ‘‘Twas a cold a frosty morning here too, but at least that meant there was less mud underfoot!

This little chap wasn’t too impressed with the weather conditions this morning!

PS. My Cherry blossom is pink.

Lemongrove My Autumn Flowering Cherry is in full bloom at the end of my garden. Flowering time is November to April. So cheering in the dead of winter. Happy New year to everyone.

We didn’t have to go very far to see this today.

Lisagran Mon 28-Dec-20 19:01:44

My daughter just sent me these - mid-Wales

Ellianne Mon 28-Dec-20 15:48:33

Any snowy photos anyone?

Lisagran Mon 28-Dec-20 15:43:28

These lilies smell wonderful

Beautiful skies, ladies!
I’m a bit late to the party with this one, taken as we left home on Christmas morning to drive to our daughter’s. That and then later seeing her so well and happy made it worth getting up early!

The colours here were stunning in the evening too - in a flooded park area

Ellianne Sat 26-Dec-20 09:14:47

The colours were stunning at 8 am yesterday morning. So lucky with the weather.
