Notspaghetti, we have big storms and the beaches change for a year or so sometimes stones, sometimes tonnes of seaweed then after a while the sand returns. Borthwen has been stony for a good many years, shame cos it used to be one of the sandiest.
How do you know the area? Did you live here or holiday?

... but where has all the sand gone? Cable Bay always had lots of pebbles and Church Bay sort of 1/3 pebbles but Borthwen was once almost all sand! I've just googled Borthwen images and was amazed at the changes.

Some places never change much, therein lies their charm.
If you think about it, even London - with all its new glass buildings and skyscrapers - still retains its old historical heart.

Sidmouth doesn`t look to have changed very much in the 17 years since we were there, I loved those cliffs.

That cliff behing you is eroding almost on a weekly basis. Lots of rock falls but some people still insist on walking under it.
