Some more stained glass.
One very vibrant, the other more subtle. The blue is one of a panel of slightly domed pieces in the ceiling. Such skilled craftsmen.

They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

Riverwalk ... I've just seen the photo in the paper, your's is much clearer. But..... without the little lady on the top, I could understand the sculpture representing women a bit more.
Really though, I dont think even then it does justice to Mary Wollstencraft.
I agree with Ellianne It's a great photo though.
thanks for showing it.
Where is the orange stained glass Namsnanny? Looks Moroccan?
My all time favourite was the Chagall window in Reims Cathedral. Absolutely stunning blue.
Stained glass is like beautiful kind people. Their beauty shines through when they are happy and sunny, but still remains within in times of sadness and darkness.
I shall put that on my list Ellianne ..if and when we can visit!
Beautiful photos everyone
What a wonderful idea that was Minimoon Vanished but still amongst us.
It was very moving Namsnanny. They entitled it "There but not There". ?
Minimoon a simple photo with a huge significance. Thank you.
Wonderful photos Ellianne. We have only driven across Dartmoor once - in 2001, on our way to Cornwall. We were allowed to park on the roadside but we weren’t allowed to get out of the car and walk. Awful, awful time. Driving through disinfectant and thinking of what the poor farmer’s and their animals were going through. Good to see you and your dog enjoying the lovely countryside now?.
Today, it’s ducks from me! Photos from a walk in the country park on Saturday.
Well we've had the weather for them Greyduster!!
Lovely composition in the first photo Ellianne
Trees against a November sky.
Keep them coming everyone!
Brilliant photos..really cheery ?
Aren't they just, farview?!
Is that an old nest, namsnanny, or a squirrel dray do you think?
Lots more beautiful photos, thanks everyone! It’s amazing the variety of images there are, the different things that catch the eye.
We didn’t spot a gruffalo in our local woods yesterday but we did hear a large military plane practising its manoeuvres overhead. I think this passing springer spaniel was a bit surprised too!
I was told there are feral Parakeets living around there Greyduster!
I did see a bird fly away which was large enough to be one. But unfortunately I couldn't get a photo or see clearly enough to identify it.
I love photos of the sky. They can change so quickly though.
Has some one tried to make a bivouac in the woods do you think grannyqueenie?
That's a clever image granniequeenie. I like the juxtaposition of the massive roaring plane and the startled little dog frozen in his tracks.
You've given me an idea for some more photos.
Ellianne what beautiful words i shall try and remember those. They have struck a cord with me about something in my life right now.
What a glorious setting miniMoon. So lush.

Some cityscapes on a gloomy London morning!
Battersea Power Station undergoing a massive re-development (a fantastic project) a Frank Gehry block of flats at the same site; and the cube-shaped building in the middle of the photo, with the lantern shaped exterior thingies is the new American embassy in Nine Elms (Mayfair it aint!)
grannyqueenie..the beautiful photo of the plane and dog is definitely worth framing!
Wanted to post a photo but the paperclip symbol is just not letting me aaaagh!!
