Some more stained glass.
One very vibrant, the other more subtle. The blue is one of a panel of slightly domed pieces in the ceiling. Such skilled craftsmen.

Riverwalk ... I've just seen the photo in the paper, your's is much clearer. But..... without the little lady on the top, I could understand the sculpture representing women a bit more.

Really though, I dont think even then it does justice to Mary Wollstencraft.

Where is the orange stained glass Namsnanny? Looks Moroccan?

My all time favourite was the Chagall window in Reims Cathedral. Absolutely stunning blue.
Stained glass is like beautiful kind people. Their beauty shines through when they are happy and sunny, but still remains within in times of sadness and darkness.

I shall put that on my list Ellianne ..if and when we can visit!

Beautiful photos everyone

I took this photo in 2018 in the Church in my old home town. I went to see the poppy displays marking the centenary of the ending of WW1.
Inside the Church they had perspex figures in the pews representing the soldiers from the town who didn't come home. This is the one for my Great Uncle Ned.

What a wonderful idea that was Minimoon Vanished but still amongst us.

It was very moving Namsnanny. They entitled it "There but not There". ?

Introducing the pup to Dartmoor today.

Wonderful photos Ellianne. We have only driven across Dartmoor once - in 2001, on our way to Cornwall. We were allowed to park on the roadside but we weren’t allowed to get out of the car and walk. Awful, awful time. Driving through disinfectant and thinking of what the poor farmer’s and their animals were going through. Good to see you and your dog enjoying the lovely countryside now?.

We didn’t spot a gruffalo in our local woods yesterday but we did hear a large military plane practising its manoeuvres overhead. I think this passing springer spaniel was a bit surprised too!

I was told there are feral Parakeets living around there Greyduster!
I did see a bird fly away which was large enough to be one. But unfortunately I couldn't get a photo or see clearly enough to identify it.

I love photos of the sky. They can change so quickly though.

Kylemore Abbey in County Galway. We visited here last summer on our holiday in Ireland. Beautiful place with an interesting and varied history. Lovely gardens too.

Some cityscapes on a gloomy London morning!

Battersea Power Station undergoing a massive re-development (a fantastic project) a Frank Gehry block of flats at the same site; and the cube-shaped building in the middle of the photo, with the lantern shaped exterior thingies is the new American embassy in Nine Elms (Mayfair it aint!)
