They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

A riot of colours is what is needed this year Greyduster. It looks wonderful!

We have had our tree up for just over a week now and it certainly cheers up these gloomy afternoons. It's only small, but suits us and still feels festive. smile

Love the festive photos. I’ll try to add some tomorrow, struggling to sit today - don’t ask!

The fireplace is from Avebury, the lantern is ours and the view from yesterday’s short walk in a country park.

Ellianne Sun 13-Dec-20 13:19:47

This might not work as a picture on here, and you might need a magnifying glass, but
There IS gold at the end of the rainbow!
Well, there was yesterday!

Ellianne Sun 13-Dec-20 13:20:34

It's my golden boy in case it isn't clear!

Greyduster Sun 13-Dec-20 14:39:58

What else would you need at the end of a rainbow but a faithful golden friend!

Namsnanny Sun 13-Dec-20 14:47:26

Last years kitchen wreath. I haven't made one for this year yet.

Greyduster Sun 13-Dec-20 19:58:20

Sprouts! Well that’s different!???

lemongrove Sun 13-Dec-20 20:31:39

Get them into some boiling water pronto! ?

lemongrove Sun 13-Dec-20 20:33:24

I hadn’t made out the dog Elliane and although I do really like golden retrievers, at this moment a pot of gold would come in very handy.?

Ellianne Sun 13-Dec-20 20:36:51

Ha ha lemongrove. You'd need a big pot of gold to buy a golden. Puppies now going for around £4,000 if you can even get one. Same with all breeds I believe.

Namsnanny Sun 13-Dec-20 23:08:48

You can never have too many sprouts at Christmas Greyduster ?

Namsnanny Sun 13-Dec-20 23:17:43

Ellianne Sun 13-Dec-20 23:20:53

Hope your Christmas is something to sprout about!

Namsnanny Sun 13-Dec-20 23:22:40

Another fantastic scene Ellianne how ever did you manage to catch that shot?!

Ellianne Sun 13-Dec-20 23:25:33

Like everyone else on here it's just capturing a moment in our daily lives Namsnanny. That's hopefully what makes this thread special.

Namsnanny Mon 14-Dec-20 00:54:23

I wondered if your lovely dog was so well trained he stayed where you put himwink.

grannyqueenie Mon 14-Dec-20 20:46:14

What began as a damp and drizzly walk by the river today ended up with a patch of blue sky... always a bonus on a December day!

Greyduster Mon 14-Dec-20 23:09:21

We had some blue sky too. Our park today, and one of its more exotic feathered residents.
