Well it's a miserable Monday weather-wise in London - very grey and gloomy but dry.

So I'm getting me togs on and heading up river!

Songstress you are wrong about indoor exercise not being beneficial. I do a Pilates class on Zoom twice a week since lockdown started and it has made a huge difference to my posture, strength, balance and sense of wellbeing.

I've just joined a kettlebell workout class too and at 71 that's definitely not something I'll be doing in public! grin

walked 13000 steps today

Today DH finished building a shed. I moved rockery stones from the back to the front garden. Then raked up 2 barrow loads of leaves. Gave up as it was quite windy and the falling leaves got the better of me. So enough exercise for one day.

I live on a road shaped like the letter P and, as I don't walk too well (knees and back give out), I decided to walk round the circle part of the P each day which is achievable. At a certain part of the P there is an entrance to a park, and yesterday I decided to go in to the park before continuing on my P route. To my surprise I was able to walk completely round the park and then back home. Knees suffering a bit today but every other day isn't too bad is it?

Went for a shortish walk to Cascades du Gourlastine near the village of Menoire, Correze, France. Very pleasant. There was the even the ruins of an old mill nearby.

Had a very quick dip in the pool beneath the waterfall. Invigorating!

Proof the dip attached ~ I'm somewhere there. The waterfall pool is mainly shallow but then become deeper towards the waterfall. Hubby got up to his knees and nearly walked on water to get out. grin

Resolution.... must contribute more rather than just be a voyeur!
So here goes. Just returned from a gentle walk with DH who can’t walk very far these days. About a mile around our quiet lanes here in rural East Cornwall. Lots of acorns crunching underfoot and the farmers have been flailing the Cornish hedges. ( not planted hedges but granite walls full of all sorts of plants) . A trap for the unwary and those whose reversing is dodgy.
Back for a glass of red!

I'm very impressed with all the tennis players!

Just returned from 2.5 mile walk around Avebury

GrauntyHelen ,are you trying to make us jealous or is it my mind working overtime?

I have walked to the Library and back.So pleased they are open again even with restricted hours as it is helping to save my sanity.

Wet windy and cold here so husband and I exercised indoors and are snuggled under duvet now

I’ve just come back from Table Tennis club ?.
It’s indoors - but we have double doors and windows wide open for fresh air. It would be unreasonable to ask the community centre lady to set the tables up outdoors, and it’s the next best thing. I’ve exerted myself a fair amount and that’s what counts for me.

Gma29 Mon 19-Oct-20 15:46:15

No. I know I should, but I really can’t be bothered.

I had a short trip walking to the post office in the village which is 15 mins each way, but the return is quite hilly, I'll try to do better tomorrow!

One dog walk but doubt it’s 5k steps.

It's glorious sunshine and 15.5 degrees here in Buckinghamshire. I have been on three walks: one with the DH, one with the DD and one by myself. My Fitbit tells me I have taken 20,000 steps and walked 13 km.

Just back from our walk along edge of Embleton golf course , and up to Dunstanborough Castle.
Now to enjoy cake and cup of tea.

Why do I always feel like I've burned shed loads of calories just hanging up a line full of washing and getting it in again??

Other than that it's just been a bit of gardening and path sweeping.

luluaugust Mon 19-Oct-20 14:51:02

Does a quick trot round the supermarket count?

katy1950 Mon 19-Oct-20 14:39:16

Golf tomorrow fingers cross

lizzypopbottle Mon 19-Oct-20 14:28:25

I walked to the local butcher's shop in the village this morning, possibly a mile all told but I was quite ill over the weekend. (Nothing infectious!) It was good to get outside and the weather was fine.

crazygranny Mon 19-Oct-20 14:18:04

Lovely fresh day here, bright with a comfortable breeze. My running mornings are Sunday, Wednesday and Friday so it will just be a walk later on. Only 'exercise' has been picking up a week's worth of click and collect groceries!

*Songstress*- a bit strong there. Of course exercising indoors benefits lots of people. How else would you explain the myriad of gym and swimming classes!
Some exercise is better than no exercise.

Agree. Any exercise is good.

Theoddbird Mon 19-Oct-20 13:46:06

I have just cut enough wood to last me a couple of weeks. All stacked on my jetty smile

Cotswoldslass Mon 19-Oct-20 13:45:26

Has been quite nice here in the Cotswolds, sunny off and on. Went for my usual 2-hour dog walk this morning in the fields, meeting up with other dog walking villagers for a social distancing chat!
