Hi all
I sometimes ponder over the meaning of posters' usernames and thought it might be an interesting topic for a thread.
My own "maydonoz" is the Turkish word for parsley, to reflect my many years living in Turkey, previously and also enjoy cooking so use many herbs, including parsley.
Some of you may wish to share your username meaning too.

how do you change your user name?

Growing0ldDisgracefully Tue 20-Oct-20 11:25:54

Mine comes from when I started riding motorcycles at age 50, and my aunt exclaimed in great delight that I was growing old disgracefully. That was 14 years ago, I'm still being disgraceful and my aunt is still up for enjoying life herself at age 94. We're a good example of not letting ourselves fade away.

25Avalon Tue 20-Oct-20 11:26:50

Because I come from Somerset, love the mystery of Glastonbury and the Isle of Avalon, have a number of apple trees in the garden from when it was the Orchard of the big house.
I just wanted Avalon but GN said it was already taken so I put 25 in as shorthand for silver So I am Silver Apples.

BassGrammy Tue 20-Oct-20 11:29:40

My username is a combination of the fact that My grandson went through a phase of calling me Grammy, although that’s passed now and the fact that I sing bass in a barbershop chorus! Any other barbershoppers here?

GrammarGrandma Tue 20-Oct-20 11:33:10

This has been fascinating! I am GrammarGrandma because I have a blog of that name: www.grammargrandma.co.uk/

Self-explanatory really.

MawB2 Tue 20-Oct-20 11:37:45

I chose my name as hommage to that great Scottish Domestic Goddess - Maw Broon. It has undergone a few minor changes and abbreviations, but is still intrinsically the same Maw

Chicklette Tue 20-Oct-20 11:38:54

When I was a teen someone called me ‘chick’. My friend commented I was too small to be a chick, I was a chicklet. And as my name ends in ette I changed it to chicklette.

TashaandRiver Tue 20-Oct-20 11:47:02
