Here we are again. As happy as we can be (in the circumstances). All good pals and jolly good company.

Cheers! cupcake wine brew cafe and whatever else that you fancy, providing it's legal. smile

Had infusion. Doctor said...see you again in six months. I replied...that's if I'm not in a cell having done away with Trump.

Time to log off and have a brew. I hope that the birthday celebrations continue for some time yet.

With love and best wishes to all of our Granspals. smile moon

Puzzler61 Thu 05-Nov-20 17:14:59

Well done soop. Feet up tonight and a G&T at 9 pm if you fancy one. ?

cornergran Thu 05-Nov-20 19:09:36

Love that photo kitty, it’s a keeper.

Good to know you’re safe home soop, definitely a feet up time smile.

Susan56 Fri 06-Nov-20 09:26:21

Hope you are feeling ok today after yesterday’s infusion soop.

Kitty,I love the photo of your grandson and the cat covered in stickers! Our two year old grandson loves stickers too but I can’t see their cat standing still long enough to have stickers stuck all over her!

Been a busy couple of days looking after grandchildren.Today we were up at 4.45 to drive to look after Barnaby. It was a very foggy two hour drive, I was glad to get here.I drive here and DH drives home. Its a lovely scenic drive in the summer but not so great this morning.

I will attach a couple of photos. He ry yesterday and Barnaby last week.Haven’t got a good picture from today as he hasn’t taken his Spider-Man mask off yet!

Hope everyone has a good day.Thinking of you all, take care and stay safe.Special thoughts to Mr and Mrs Panache?

Bellanonna Fri 06-Nov-20 10:05:00

Doodle, thank you! ?

Bellanonna Fri 06-Nov-20 10:09:23

Lovely little boys, Susan!

annodomini Fri 06-Nov-20 10:33:19

Well, a 'lockdown birthday' was a bit different. Lots of amazing presents and cards, and a certain amount of bubbly which made me sleepy! A family party next spring/summer is being suggested as DS1 will be celebrating his half-century in April. Perhaps, by that time, we will have a reliable vaccine hmm.
Glad the infusion is over, soop. Sometimes such things are worse in anticipation.

Puzzler61 Fri 06-Nov-20 11:59:57

Good morning (very nearly afternoon) to all.
You have very photogenic GS’s Susan and isn’t it joyous to capture their happy little faces? Sparklers are still the best fireworks, they never go out of fashion.
Love the ? fox jumper!

annsixty Fri 06-Nov-20 12:14:12

So pleased you had an enjoyable birthday anno
Special birthdays should be just that.

I love to see the photographs of the young GC and miss mine being that age.
My youngest is 9 and yesterday he called(with his mum) at
My S’s workplace.
One of the staff asked who he was and when my S told her she replied , goodness, I never thought you had a child as young as that.

My S was very put out, admittedly he Is 50 but she made him feel ready for retirement.

soop Fri 06-Nov-20 13:24:03

Susan Thank you for sharing both beautiful photographs of delightful wee boys. You've been busy. The long drive will have been tiring. Enjoy whatever you have planned. Make happy memories.

I'm pleased that you had an enjoyable day celebrating your extra special birthday, anno.

A few moments ago, this photo of Toby came through the internet. grin

Susan56 Fri 06-Nov-20 13:30:16

Gorgeous picture of Toby???

We bought Barnaby a similar elephant and he still uses it as a pillow now he’s a big boy of 2 and a half!

Feelingmyage55 Fri 06-Nov-20 13:41:05

Lovely photos cheered me up. TOYA

Galen Fri 06-Nov-20 14:02:15

Unfortunately the my darling daughter won’t let me post photos of my very photogenic grandchildren.?

Nannytopsy Fri 06-Nov-20 14:58:52

Same here Galen.
It’s a glorious day today but I am being good - instead of hopping round the garden, I am going to tackle the ironing Munro.

kittylester Fri 06-Nov-20 16:34:59

Well, I'm coming in with some very proud Ma moments to report.

Bertie got stickers from 2 very impressed teachers today who didnt believe an 8 year old could do the Rubiks cube and he did!!

And Persie got a sustifacate for doing good discussing!! I have to say she is brilliant at discussing!! grin

And, their cousin has got the part of Jane Banks in their school christmas production of Mary Poppins. Just a shame no one can go and watch it. Heyho!!

soop Fri 06-Nov-20 17:29:52

kitty Woo hoo! Well done Bertie. Congratulations, Persie Yes, I agree, it is a great pity that you may not be allowed to watch the production of Mary Poppins. Perhaps you'll be treated to some photos.

I've spent a quiet day. We did our usual walk this morning. After which, I've done a lot of chillin'. MacSporran urged me to take things easy.

Is that awful man in the States still in the White House? PLEASE let this fiasco be over before I take myself off to nunnery. Only joking. That's the very last place I retreat to. Maybe a cabin on the beach, where I can listen to the waves and the call of the sea birds.

I shall return to spend time with you lovely people tomorrow. Stay safe. Keep warm. Remain positive. smile moon

Good morning from the Shire. The mist wraiths are back! All is enveloped in a magical mysterious shroud of grey and it is SILENT out there with the birds perched in the trees in silhouette. Totally magical. I actually sat outside for a while until I got too chilled and enjoyed the peace and quiet, the breathing of cold air and a feeling of (seemingly) being the only human abroad.

Festivities in the Shire surround the fact that CH now has a provisional date for his eye surgery. The downside is totally shielding all over Christmas in preparation, but we can live with that. We shall celebrate just the two of us in our eerie.

I have just taken delivery of my Autumn activity pack from a local volunteer and after coffee later, I shall delve into it with interest. What would we do without the wonderful volunteers?

Lovely pictures from all as ever. Henry (I hope that's the correct child) we also had sparklers the other night. One of the delights of childhood, interspersed with rockets and other things plus a rather splendid bonfire. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed events too, especially the kitchen supper afterwards.

The crochet project stumbles on. I can new do a chain and a double crochet stitch but have not mastered the ends of rows yet, so an interesting shape developed. Back to U tube later for another left handed master class ?

I think my breakfast berries are now defrosted enough, so thats the next thing.

TOYA

Greyduster Sat 07-Nov-20 10:53:08

Blimey, Izabella, you’re doing better than me with the crochet. There is another on here who can attest to the fact that I did the right thing in abandoning crochet when I did! We are currently enveloped in mist too. We had contemplated a crafty trip up onto the moors today but it would be like Hound of the Baskervilles up there at the moment (“quickly, Watson, the dog biscuits!” “Sorry, Holmes old chap, I forgot to bring them!” “Blast!” Aargh!!!!).
Kitty well done Bertie and Persie - great to see their efforts appreciated.
All the lovely pictures of the littlies have me yearning for times past and reaching for videos of GS gardening with grandad. DH is filling flower pots with compost and GS is scooping it out and trying to put it back in the bag but most of it never makes it to the bag! All the time he is giving his own two year old running commentary! And then there’s a hilarious face painting one......?‍♀️! Grandad was game for anything! How the time flies.
TOYA and hope we all see the sun today!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-Nov-20 11:29:47

Hi kitcheners ?‍♀️ In the first lockdown I
didn’t go to any shops, not even the shops at the other end of my road. Myself and GrandpaGravy ventured down to the butchers this morning and the very small Sainsbury’s local. I have come back home so saddened the shops all with shutters down, the normally busy road devoid of cars. What a mess our beautiful world is in sad

I now have to start sorting out Christmas gifts and see what else I have to order online.

kittylester you have talented GC.

Izzabella I used to crochet and knit when my Grans were alive, they were on hand to sort out my errors. I keep intending to start again, but I have absolutely no idea where my time goes busy doing nothing springs to mind.

Rest and relax my virtual friends.

cornergran Sat 07-Nov-20 12:16:27

Congratulations to Persie and Bertie kitty, pride is allowed smile

Lovely photos of children as ever, same for us galen no posting allowed.

Mr C has ben waiting a hospital appointment, the confirmatory letter arrived this morning, we're delighted its a telephone call, all that is needed, it means no trip into a city full of virus and we're both relieved I will be able to listen in. A double positive.

Isn't it odd how most children are desperate to help until they are old enough to actually be safely helpful? Our Littlest insists on clearing the table, lovely of him but not good for my nervous system for sure. Must learn to have more faith in his ability to keep plates stable while running with them......

Onwards to the admin I began ages ago, easily side tracked these days. We have a task list for the next few weeks to begin on Monday, determined to have something to show from the November restrictions. No, I'm not telling you how many items there are and how many we achieve grin

Take care everyone.

Grandmabatty Sat 07-Nov-20 12:34:44

Good afternoon kitcheners. The mist rise this morning briefly and has descended again. Kittylester what clever dgc you have! And you are rightly proud of them. Soop I'm glad your transfusion is over and you can relax a bit. I have been food shopping this morning and done the housework, then tidied the spare room,so I feel my halo is shining. I'm off to have a bacon butty and a chamber pot of tea. Then I'm going to make biscuits as dd and dgs are popping in. Have a happy afternoon all.

Puzzler61 Sat 07-Nov-20 13:39:34

Good afternoon Kitchen peeps. We have missed the mist (pun intended, sorry) shrouding many of you and had a glorious sunny morning with a temp of about 14 degs.
Went for a 2 hour walk to stretch our legs and I took a picture of this holly tree. Just so many berries on it.
Does it forecast a harsh winter do you know? Or is that an old wive’s tale?

Puzzler61 Sat 07-Nov-20 13:41:05

Ooh and this close-up

kittylester Sat 07-Nov-20 14:47:03

Actually, I thought the stickers and awards were funny. Although Bertie and Persie are, naturally, gorgeous, stickers for Rubix cube solving and talking are rather strange things to be rewarded for. I'm a bit blush now!!

soop Sat 07-Nov-20 14:48:55

Lovely photographs and many interesting messages from my favourite folk.

It's a sparkling day in bonnie Kintyre. I slept in this morning. We did fit a walk in late morning. I'm about to tackle a munro of ironing. Needs must.

Photo of the sky last night. Another of the woodpecker visitor this morning.
