Here we are again. As happy as we can be (in the circumstances). All good pals and jolly good company.

Cheers! cupcake wine brew cafe and whatever else that you fancy, providing it's legal. smile

Hello Kitchen peeps
Blowing a hooley outside my windows. Hope the weather is better for you all and that, finally, MacS might have managed to put his feet up and have a wee dram - even though someone will have had to pay loads of attention to the new lodger cat, so that she doesn't say bad things to dear soop on her return! Hope all went well, Mac, and she has settled into her hospital bed and is already counting down the hours to a safe return.

Lovely to hear your news, Izabella. Crochet? And you are making it work? Well done you, that's something that I shall never get to grips with, sadly. Do we have a date for your dear CH's hospitalisation? If so , many apologies. I have forgotten. Warm wishes if it's soon - and of course it will not be allowed if his PJ hems are not yet ready for an outing. Another little job for you!

Wishing you all a peaceful and restorative night's sleep. Until tomorrow, big hugs from French France. x

Hoping McSporran will be back soon with news of our lovely soop ?

Galen Wed 25-Nov-20 11:45:35

Izabella well done
Maw go into settings and look for keyboard setup.

Good morning from the Shire. We have battleship grey skies, stilled trees and no birdsong. However, we are safe and warm in our isolating bubble and not even in contact with the rest of the household prior to CH's operation.

Welcome to anyone new in the kitchen and my thoughts are also with everyone struggling with life.

galen you may be interested to know the crochet is proceeding well now that I have worked out why the edges were more akin to donkeys legs. I have been watching a lady on uTube working the left handed way.

Second Xmas cake being fed brandy, the whole thing in a safe place, although it is less likely to be eaten this time as the menfolk are banned from our 'isolation unit.'

Today I have the dubious honour of cutting CH's toenails as obviously he cannot see them. Then taking up the hem of his new PJ's ready for hospital. Lets hope threading the sewing machine is a skill retained in my wappy brain.

TOYA and hoping all well with soop too.

I could have sworn I posted in here yesterday, but obviously not. So I hope that you somehow get my good luck message Soop. All my love and best wishes to you, and don`t rush back until you are fit and ready! xxx

Nannyfaraway Wed 25-Nov-20 08:01:42

Sorry I'm late with my message Soop.
Wishing you all the best for today and sending you my love

kittylester Wed 25-Nov-20 07:06:23

Susan56 Tue 24-Nov-20 22:36:39

Hope all goes well tomorrow soop. Will be thinking of you.Sending love and good wishes your way?

Synonymous Tue 24-Nov-20 22:33:59

Sorry to have missed you soop but good wishes and love flying to you wherever you are and whatever is happening.

It has been well ....very busy here you might say! DD has her sitting room and bedroom just about organised and loads of boxes unpacked and stuff has disappeared. There do seem to be a fair few left but I am sure it will be ok hmm
I have never seen so mch packing paper in my life! Himself said he would keep it for wrapping apples and pears but he has given up now that we reckon he has about a 10 year supply! grin
I have put DD on my car insurance so I will have backup for the visit to the prosthetics hospital tomorrow so that is a big relief.
Smokie is very happy to have someone more mobile to play with now but not so happy to hear himself compared to a barrel and even the mention of rationing in the same sentence as treats! He is monitoring the situation!grin

TOYA flowers

soop sorry if I’ve missed you but my good wishes are coming your way anyhow. Hope all goes well and you are back with us soon. A little hug ? for MacSporran who will be in charge in your absence. Glad Fern came back so you weren’t worried. Take care.
Nannyfaraway so glad to hear your daughter is feeling better now. That’s good news. Lovely photo.
Susan glad to hear Henry is feeling better.

cornergran Tue 24-Nov-20 19:39:29

That’s infuriating n&g and potentially dangerous greyd. No need for firemen to brighten your afternoon? Hope calm resumes for you both tomorrow.

Currently sat here eyeing the Christmas chocolates. Knew I should have hidden them. Willpower infusion needed. grin.

TOYA.

mrshat Tue 24-Nov-20 19:21:37

All the best soop . Trusting all will go well for you and you will be back here before you know it. flowers

Greyduster Tue 24-Nov-20 17:19:25

N&G I’ll get my grappling hook and bring a few smoke bombs. Or maybe we should use the vacuum cleaner that caught fire in our kitchen this afternoon! More than a little smoke there!!

MawBe Tue 24-Nov-20 17:18:14

Hurray, welcome back, Fern!

All the very best @Soop I’ll be thinking of you and looking forward to good news. Now @McSporran - no partying in Soop’s absence or Nicola will be after you’

Puzzler61 Tue 24-Nov-20 17:18:03

Grandmafrench the Aldo Z recipe sounds fabulous. I will look for it on t’internet.
It reminded me once made a vegetarian stack with tortilla wraps layered up and a aubergine, tomato, garlic filling between. Then you poured a runny bechamel sauce over it
It was tasty.

Greyduster Tue 24-Nov-20 17:16:41

Good luck tomorrow Soop. All my fingers and toes will be crossed for a successful outcome. We will all be thinking about Himself too! Xx

BladeAnnie Tue 24-Nov-20 17:12:23

NanaandGrampy Tue 24-Nov-20 17:02:11

Sorry I missed you Soop its been chaos here !!

Hope everything goes really well and you're home soon !!

I am off to continue sitting on the phone to AO. Our all singing all dancing new washing machine that arrived yesterday has stopped working.

If I don't get to speak to someone soon I shall be looking for volunteers to storm the AO building and effect a replacement :-)

cornergran Tue 24-Nov-20 16:58:57

Looks as if you’ll not see this today soop. No matter, love and good luck wishes are winging their way to you.

So pleased Fern returned. Thr new cat house sounds fabulous.

Good to see you back nannyfaraway, sorry you’ve had struggles. Ellie looks so grown up. Where does time go?

TOYA. Look after yourselves everyone.

Nannytopsy Tue 24-Nov-20 16:40:59

Not as good as on of Soop’s, but a Suffolk sunset.

Nannytopsy Tue 24-Nov-20 16:39:25

I hope I am not too late! All the very best Soop and fingers firmly crossed for a successful outcome
???

soop Tue 24-Nov-20 16:27:48

Gulp! I read through all the lovely messages. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I shall miss you all. It's going to be a difficult few days away from our kitchen and the support of you lovely lot.

I shall indeed ask MacSporran to log in to tell you how things are going on the "drop bot" saga. I am going to miss him and our home and Fern.

We've ordered her a new cat kennel. It's very posh and well made. She'll have more room and her food dish will also have a space. What's more, I shall be able to service it by opening the hinged roof. At present, I'm kneeling on the patio and reaching in to retrieve bedding. It is insulated and has a proper sheltered opening. The rain won't be soaking the wee mat as it does right now. When the home is delivered - early Dec., we shall photo it.

I think it best if I log off until the deed is done and I'm home again. I wouldn't think that I'll be away so long that a new kitchen will need opening. If you should need one, please agree amongst yourselves who is to open it. Otherwise, there could be more than one, and that would be confusing. wink

In the morning, I need to phone the ward to confirm that I have a bed. If I have, farewell for now. If not, I'll be here again tomorrow.

Thank you. I'm so lucky to have so many dear virtual friends. smile moon

Grandmafrench Tue 24-Nov-20 15:55:03

You do make me laugh, soop but I shall consider that the 'wee pile of ironing and some polishing' is a welcome distraction. All that and dancing attendance on that lovely puss, (who could just be your little Cat Angel),you'll barely have time to get to the hospital on the right day, let alone pack your bag. So this is just to wish you every single bit of luck going, sending you a hug, a huge kiss and don't come back to the world of the Kitchen and us mad Grans before you are ready and able to tell us that you're all fully renovated and raring to go. Seriously, everything crossed for you. Keep safe and lots of love x

Too many struggles, nannyfaraway, hope your health improves soon. Puzzler, hope you're in the pink. I watched Aldo Zilli make his Momma's family meatball dish. It looked wonderful, and I shall try it once I have climbed over the lists of the stuff I need to do which is less fun and more important. It was a bit like a crazy Moussaka. He made tiny pork meatballs for a layer, a marvellous tomato sauce for another, a rich cheese layer and in between all of this not pasta but PANCAKES! It looked absolutely delicious. So, if you've stopped baking at the moment........

If you have an Apple device, Mawbe I could always ask my Son, the computer whizz who gets me out of trouble all the time.

Fabulous Marmalade cat. Very decorative, corner and possibly quite nice to own just a share in a cat. A bit like a racehorse.....only lots cheaper, I should think.

Hope you've survived today's activities, Grandmabatty. Grannygravy on the Good Morning thread was talking about her 10 month old charge hurling shoes out of the understairs cupboard quite early this morning. Sounds as if she might have come off worse than you today. Rest this evening. flowers Just as well we love them so much - they can be quite exhausting.

Have a brilliant rest of afternoon, all. Susan close your eyes a little on the way home, maybe?

Hope you're upright and well today, Cherry and that life is just toddling along with Izabella and the lovely Panaches

Hugs from French France as per/comme d'hab
