Here we are again. As happy as we can be (in the circumstances). All good pals and jolly good company.

Cheers! cupcake wine brew cafe and whatever else that you fancy, providing it's legal. smile

dragonfly That's our girl. You are a gold star trooper. Love from us lot and virtual hugs in abundance. flowers

Charleyg Robbie spent part of last night in the cabi. We're waiting for the light sensor to be triggered on the patio. When it is, the food is ready and waiting to be served. He has a bed of straw, over which is a carpet mat, over which is a tartan wool blanket that is moulded to the back end of the cabin for added comfort.
How come this is happening yet again? We are three miles from the nearest village. Yet, these felines suss us out. grin

Darkness has fallen. We did manage a morning walk. Other than that, it's been a quiet and peaceful day.

Wishing you all a similar evening and a sound night's sleep. smile moon

I'm prostrate on the couch with exhaustion after my extra two days babysitting. Today he decided he wouldn't go for a nap at his usual time and he is definitely testing grandma's boundaries! I'm a feeder and he is rejecting food. Does he know that it's like rejecting me? Well, of course he does, the little monkey. We have had a lovely week, playing and laughing helplessly at my attempts to make funny voices, despite my poorly tum. Tomorrow I have a trip to the chiropodist as a treat then home. I might do a little bit of Christmas shopping first. Have a good evening all.

Puzzler61 Thu 12-Nov-20 17:29:11

It’s good to hear our 2 ladies are now resting ( soop and Grandmabatty ). Listen to your bodies, they know when they need a rest.
Hopefully you have had another good day dragonfly, how good it is to hear you are feeling fine despite weekly radiotherapy sessions.
Galen are those brandy snaps around here somewhere - I was hoping to try one?
Grandmafrench we had a sunny, mild day today here - did you send it over from ?? especially for my afternoon walk?
If you did then thank you.
My car came back from the motor “hospital” today - all the dents and scratches have been sorted, a new mirror and door handle fitted. I will take even greater care with it now.

kittylester Thu 12-Nov-20 17:42:42

I've popped in for a brandy snap - who has eaten them?

I've had a very trying day. I dropped a glass bottle of hp sauce in the utility room. The cats thought I was there to feed them so were paddling through broken glass and brown sauce. Our floor tiles are brownish and sparkle a bit so the bits were hard to find, brown sauce went up my cream cupboards and I had to change the newly changed litter tray. And the smell is horrendous!! And, Sainsbury's didnt send my wine - again!!

Anyone mind if I just sit under a blanket over by the window?

Puzzler61 Thu 12-Nov-20 17:48:06

Oh dear, rest up with Grandmab and soop and I’ll open the window as you as a bit whiffy kitty. I live by the Worcestershire sauce factory and it smells remarkably like that!
I’ll have a rummage about for brandy-snaps ......

Grandmabatty Thu 12-Nov-20 17:49:25

Kittylester I'm sending waves of sympathy. I emptied the basin in the kitchen sink and a tidal wave soaked me so much I had to change. While I was changing, dgs decided that the lentil soup looked better as a work of art adorning the units, the floor and the washing machine. While I was cleaning that up, he smeared chilli dip on the footstool in the living room. My fault for leaving him unattended both times!

MawB2 Thu 12-Nov-20 19:55:24

It was indeed dragonfly a city break one Easter I think. We packed a lot into just a few days - but happy memories!
There wasn’t much money to spare but I am glad we visited some cities we both loved like Prague, St Petersburg, Vienna etc before Paw’s health ruled out travelling abroad.
You do what you can when you can and there was no point in regrets for what you could no longer do.
Scotland and the Lake District were equally enjoyable.
Paw’s third anniversary passed more easily than I feared (I was dreading it) but my equanimity took a bash when looking through my pictures, I came across this from Toby who was just about to turn 6- warning, Kleenex alert.

Nannytopsy Thu 12-Nov-20 22:14:44

You were just too late with the Kleenex alert Maw. ?
It has been beautiful here today and I did a bit more planting. Still a way to go.
Are you ok now Kitty? Never mind the brandy snaps, where is the bottle of brandy?
Go girl Dragonfly!
Hope Robbie turned up tonight Soop!

Doodle Thu 12-Nov-20 22:40:10

Oh maw that’s a real tear jerker. Bless him.
kitty wine and wine and wine and relax. ?

Galen Fri 13-Nov-20 12:28:29

Second batch of snaps here.
Kate and I are now going to embark on making Nigella’s Xmas cake.
Wish me luck, I’ve never made Xmas cake before.
Ps the dried fruit has been soaking in a pint of bourbon overnight.

Puzzler61 Fri 13-Nov-20 13:45:17

Thank you Galen. You’re excellent at these brandy snaps. How could your Xmas cake not be delicious when the vine fruits have been steeped in bourbon! ?

soop Fri 13-Nov-20 13:58:04

Maw What a darling boy Toby is to have written such a precious message to Paw. flowers

Galen More brandy snaps will keep us lot happy until we get to sample your Christmas cake. Bet you kitchen is heady with the bourbon fumes.

Grandmabatty I know that I shouldn't smile - but, I cannot help myself. wink

Puzzler I'm pleased that your newly restored car is home again. No doubt you will treat her to a welcome home wash and polish.

kitty I've left the freshly laundered and well warmed tartan rug out especially for you.

Robbie called early evening. Ate three portions of quality cat food, slept for a few hours in Rory's den on Rory's freshly laundered rugs and departed in the early hours of the morning. MacS has been to Tesco and the cat food cupboard is duly well stocked.

The wood pecker called again this morning. Here is the latest pic. I also saw a tree creeper doing his thing. Sadly, I didn't manage to capture it's image on the camera.

Puzzler61 Fri 13-Nov-20 14:02:30

Hello soop How are you today?
Aren’t woodpeckers pretty?
Robbie will be well satisfied with his blanket in the den and a cupboard stocked up with cat food. I hope MacS had peanuts on the shopping list too, for the woodpecker and other visiting birds?

soop Fri 13-Nov-20 15:05:06

Puzzler He most certainly did. In fact, he went on a special mission for the bird food.

Puzzler61 Fri 13-Nov-20 15:17:52

Your man is a ⭐️

soop Fri 13-Nov-20 15:59:00

I second that, Puzzler grin

Susan56 Fri 13-Nov-20 17:22:01

Love the picture of the woodpecker soop.We have positioned the bird feeder so it is in our line of vision from our seats in the conservatory. We have bought some berry suet blocks and several different types of wild bird food so hopefully will start seeing some more birds in the garden.

What a lucky little fellow Robbie is,I don’t think he will be straying far from his luxury lodgings.

Maw,what a precious note?

Glad you have your car back Puzzler?

Matilda started Rainbows last night.Meetings on zoom for now. When my DD was telling her what Rainbows are,she said you will do activities and crafts and collect badges.M thought she said they would be collecting badgers!A badger collecting group on zoom sounds fun?

Hope the antibiotics are starting to work soop??

TOYA

soop Fri 13-Nov-20 17:27:58

Susan Thank you for your lovely post.
Robbie arrived about ten minutes ago. He's tucking into a delicious cat banquet. I'm thrilled. MacS is thrilled. All is well with the world.

Night night for now. I shall join you in our kitchen tomorrow. smile moon

BladeAnnie Fri 13-Nov-20 17:38:56

I just thought I'd pop in and say hello as my friend Puzzler61 told me what a lovely lot you are on this thread smile

Grandmabatty Fri 13-Nov-20 17:45:37

BladeAnnie welcome. I hope you have brought some goodies for the kitchen? ? Soop the bird photo is lovely. Or as dgs calls them, "durdies." and how lovely that your wee cat has adopted you and Macsporran. I'm just away to have dinner. Onion, mushrooms and garlic, sauted in olive oil and Sherry, then cream cheese added to make a low fat sauce. Served with pasta and parmesan. Have a good evening all.

Grandmafrench Fri 13-Nov-20 17:48:31

Wow! You have a big growing pusscat there, soop. What an appetite! Forget 6 Dinner Syd, I think Robbie has the potential for greater things....he's already doing banquets and a full day's rations at one visit. When he is a lot older, rather portly, and probably wearing a Cheshire cat smile, I think you should be prepared to attach him to 4 little castors. Rather than wobble his way into your hearts and home, he can then be wheeled tidily towards your fireside where he can doze and maybe offer his services. Perhaps keep a look out for meeces, if it's not too stressful. grin I am thrilled for you and your new little lodger.

We've been to the Vet this afternoon. Such simple entertainment is what's keeping us going at the moment. Ludo had a check of his bloods and his thyroxine medication has enabled him to lose weight, and has now placed his results exactly in the middle of the normal section on the scale. Well done, Vet. He was pleased and Ludo was relieved that he won't have to have another blood test for a good while.

The cheeky skies (because we have a misty breeze from the east today) decided to clear at sunset, giving way to the most glorious orange glow and pretty colours. A sky full of birds this evening and hordes of flamingoes on the water's edge near our home. It had just better be a brilliant start tomorrow but unfortunately I can see the forecast is for two days showers' (all from the east). Then, 2 weeks of all day sunshine. Hurrah!

Have a great evening, Kitchen types. Hope you are all feeling well and positive, wherever possible. Hope too that your pills are working, soop. Take good care everyone. Goodnight x

Grandmafrench Fri 13-Nov-20 17:50:48

BladeAnnie Fri 13-Nov-20 18:08:42

Ahh thank you for the welcome. Chicken Kiev is on the menu here tonight and a nice glass of red smile

Grandmabatty Fri 13-Nov-20 18:12:33

grandmafrench you are welcome any time. I've opened a bottle of French red in your honour. ?

Puzzler61 Fri 13-Nov-20 18:23:23

A very warm Hello BladeAnnie . Myself, Susan and Grandma’s French and batty will all budge along and make room on the sofa for you ?

B.T.W. you must meet Robbie, soop ‘s new black furry visitor (look back in the thread for a photo). I know you are a fellow cat lover.
