Cheers! cupcake wine brew cafe and whatever else that you fancy, providing it's legal. smile

Sorry you have been upset Maw not something you need. We all felt that we knew Paw from your posts so it is nice to see such a lovely photo of him. Hope today is a better day.?

cornergran Tue 10-Nov-20 20:33:35

Thank you for sharing that image of paw, I’m so pleased you could contact a happy memory maw. No idea what’s been happening ‘out there’, scratchiness seems to flare regularly for no reason, I’m just sorry you were upset. flowers.

Puzzler61 Tue 10-Nov-20 20:49:32

Shrug off the nastiness MawB. It’s like an unwanted, heavy coat. Don’t let it rest on your shoulders.
You have had a day of remembrance, fond memories of many happy times together and deep emotion because you have lost a beloved husband and best friend. 3 years is such a short time and you are grieving.
Your Paw lives on in your photo’s (and we love you to share them) and in your soul.
He would be so proud of you today. ?

Susan56 Tue 10-Nov-20 20:54:03

Sorry you have been upset Maw and especially today. You show so much care to others who are struggling and always have good advice to give.I wish others would be as thoughtful and think before they type so to speak.Unfortunately there always seem to be some who try to upset the applecart.

The picture of Paw is lovely. He looks such a gentleman as well as a gentle man.

I hope that you can ignore the nastiness and enjoy your memories?

Grandmabatty Tue 10-Nov-20 21:20:19

MawB, it's easy to say ignore them but not so easy to do. I know I've had a bad night in the past based on what someone wrote in a thread. You are worth 100 times some of those nitwits who have nothing better to do but be annoying. They remind me of midges, buzzing and biting and trying to draw blood. Nasty wee beasties who need a good slapping. Paw looks like he was a lovely man. ?

Charleygirl5 Tue 10-Nov-20 22:33:48

That is a beautiful photo of Paw. I know it is difficult but try to forget the nastiness you have received elsewhere. I cannot believe it is three years.

The fireworks have stopped here so I do hope that Hattie's evenings are peaceful again and she can rest her eyes. That dog does not get enough rest- I think she can only manage 23 hours out of 24.

Nannytopsy Wed 11-Nov-20 02:18:34

Sorry to hear of your upset Maw. ?
It’s my turn to burn the midnight oil - I just cannot get comfortable! Oh well, only 4 hours until the alarm!

Susan56 Wed 11-Nov-20 08:47:02

Charley, I had just popped in to say I hoped you and Tara were ok and there was a post from you!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 11-Nov-20 09:38:32

MawB2 sorry to learn you were upset by some thoughtless person yesterday flowers

We had the 5yr old for a sleepover last night (this is allowed as we are DDs childcare ) I feel as if I have done a full days work all ready. I am taking a few minutes to relax before changing more beds, and continue wrapping Christmas Gifts.

I am completely behind all the kitchen news, I do hope you are all behaving and keeping well in these strange times.

NanaandGrampy Wed 11-Nov-20 10:22:38

Morning all,

Sorry you have been upset Maw. Puzzler I really like that analogy of the heavy coat ! I shall think of that in trying time.

All is well here in foggy central.I am off to the West Wing to make a personalised apron for our little neighbour opposite who brought us over homemade pink cake ( it was pink ALL the way through lol ) . So thought she might like a new apron for baking.

I have also finished my Christmas blanket, it’s not perfect but I think the children will like it. I’ll add a picture.

Young Jackson has been sent home from school as someone in his year bubble has caught the virus. This has thrown his family into disarray . Stupidly Cooper has to go to school . Mum will have to switch shifts to weekends and evenings as although Dad is working from home he doesn’t feel he can cope with home schooling etc as well ( I’ll put a little hmmmmph here - as I think he could IF he wanted to).

Usually we would have the lad for the 2 weeks but that’s not allowed . This virus has a lot to answer for.

I shall be back to catch up later x

Grandmabatty Wed 11-Nov-20 10:32:34

Nannaandgrampy the blanket is beautiful! You are very talented.

soop Wed 11-Nov-20 12:58:34

Dearest Maw, ignore those that do not know the meaning of the word empathy. Us lot understand. Paw was a gentleman (and extremely handsome). No one can ever change that fact. Gentle virtual hugs from all of us. flowers

soop Wed 11-Nov-20 13:09:13

NanaandGrampy The blanket will surely be a family heirloom. It is super special and made with love. I so wish that I had your talent.

GP called at breakfast time. Latest wee sample positive for infection. As the op is not too far away, we have to collect antibiotics from surgery this afternoon.

Guess who has been visiting? Guess who ate two lunches? Guess who is not the cat befriended by our friend in the village. Although she was stunned to see the photo that I shared with her. He looks like the twin of the cat curled up on her sofa.

Puzzler61 Wed 11-Nov-20 13:27:17

Ohh lovely photo’s in the kitchen. I think the blanket looks very perfect NandG, and it’s been made with love.
soop your black friend is a beauty and looks very healthy. I think you will be wanting a daily visit from it (do we know it’s a male cat?).
We seem to be hearing of more and more home isolations within our families and communities. I hope a vaccine can make all this a distant memory soon.
Flowers for all who need cheering today .....

soop Wed 11-Nov-20 16:35:06

Puzzler We can always depend on you for beautiful flower arrangements.
We do not know anything about the calling cat. Someone has said that one very like it sometimes calls a good six/seven miles away. He said that it is timid. Ditto the cat that has spent some time in Rory's den throughout the day. I've shared photos with the community. Should the cat belong to another household, we'll hope to reunite them.

MacSporran collected the antibiotics on my behalf, and returned with plenty of cat food. hmm

It's a dank, dark day. Will log off until tomorrow. Thank you for your company. smile moon

Hellogirl1 Wed 11-Nov-20 18:08:32

Soop, why am I thinking that you won`t be too upset if nobody lays claim to that gorgeous cat? Could he become Ruaraidh 2?

Nannytopsy Wed 11-Nov-20 18:49:23

That’s one very handsome cat! We have had lots of cats, including black and whites but never a mostly black - possibly the only one we are missing! DH says no more cats after this one!

I am so impressed with the NHS here! My appointment has arrived and then been brought forward on “the knee pathway”. Not sure about the name!?
I hope your antibiotics take effect very soon soop and you get your surgery. Not long now ...
Have a good evening everyone!

Galen Wed 11-Nov-20 21:42:30

I’m going to make brandysnaps tomorrow. The recipe I’m using actually contains brandy. Don’t remember putting any in in the past.

Charleygirl5 Wed 11-Nov-20 22:01:40

Galen we in the kitchen have no objection to tasting, mainly to see if you have the correct quantity of brandy. I know the saying "less is more" but not in this case- please be generous. Sounds yummy.

Grandmafrench Wed 11-Nov-20 23:01:33

Good night sweet Kitcheners. Just a word after checking that all is well in the lovely catering area.

Do hope you feel better today, Maw, and Susan you're not worrying about your little family more than you should. Horrible not to be able to sleep Nannytopsy but how super that your date has arrived. Someone to focus on your poor knee and get you stabilised asap. I've not heard of Brandysnaps with real brandy, Galen. You've got me worried about Toad in the Hole now! grin. Nannaandgrampy you are very talented and don't you turn out your masterpieces quickly! You have the makings of a real cottage industry going on there. Grannygravy have you put in a special chitty for some down time in all this caring?
Isn't it amazing how tiring having a little 5 year old overnight can be? Maybe we always feel more tired because we are on special standby - especially when they're not ours. Put your feet up soon, maybe? Lovely blooms again, Puzzler. Hope you're in the pink? Charley and Tara and myself, Paxo, Nouba and Bella want that little black cat to become a permanent feature in your garden, soop and then - fairly soon - in your heart and in your home. Winter drawers on etc., although he possibly won't feel too cold if he's arriving for banquets on a regular basis. Bet he's building up to 6 dinners in his head, already grin Think you've been warned!

Hope your latest infection is stamped upon very quickly by the antibiotics and you will feel ready for the long-awaited and life-changing hospital trip. Warm wishes from French France to you and to all and others I've possibly forgotten. Nighty night and please try to sleep so that bright eyes and bushy tails are to the fore in the morning.

(((((Hugs)))))

Doodle Wed 11-Nov-20 23:22:24

N&G that blanket is lovely. I’m sure they’ll be cosy with that wrapped round them. ?
soop sorry you have another UTI. Hope the antibiotics knock it out soon. What a lovely looking cat, very dainty.
Lovely flowers puzzler thank you.
Galen I am here, ready and waiting for those brandy snaps. Please send samples ASAP. ?
Grandmafrench hope you are feeling better now.
A peaceful night all moon

Grandmafrench Wed 11-Nov-20 23:26:12

I am indeed, dear Doodle. You sleep well (and keep well) x

soop Thu 12-Nov-20 14:19:22

Galen Perhaps the reason why you cannot remember adding brandy to the last batch of snaps is because you had drained the bottle prior to the baking of. wink

Thank you kindly, Grandmafrench, you are a dear, kind kitchener for sure.

Doodle Pee is the colour of pea soup. Antibios must be doing what it says on the tin pack

Hellogirl1 What have you been up to? Us lot need an update.

We have named the cat - Robbie. He spent a very long time curled up on Rory's personal blanket in the chalet overnight.

Charleygirl5 Thu 12-Nov-20 15:56:21

soop it sounds as though Robbie has found his new home for the winter- warmth, food and love what more could a fellow want?

In 3 months time he will be viewing the world from inside the house! Any bets?!

dragonfly46 Thu 12-Nov-20 16:07:18

What a lovely picture of Paw that is. Was it taken at one of my favourite places - Amsterdam Maw?
I am sorry you have been upset there seems to be so much unpleasantness around at the moment when we should all be pulling together.

Lovely flowers Puzzler. Flowers are my one extravagance - well one of them!

I am now over half way through radiotherapy and bearing up nicely. I told the lady at my review that I am worried they haven't turned the machine on as I feel so well. Maybe it will hit me later.

Sending love and best wishes to all.
