Here we are again. As happy as we can be (in the circumstances). All good pals and jolly good company.

Cheers! cupcake wine brew cafe and whatever else that you fancy, providing it's legal. smile

Greetings darling peeps.

Grandmabatty We've very happy memories of times splashing in puddles together with a wee one. How lovely that have brick building, story telling and the likes to put a smile on your face. I admit that I'm ever so slightly envious. Keep enjoying the moments.

Puzzler There is absolutely no need to apologise for being thoughtful. I appreciate your kind words.

"Our cat" called late afternoon yesterday. If a boy, he's to be known as Robbie. If a girl...Fern.

Postie has just delivered the insulated, beautifully warm cat igloo which I intend placing inside the chalet/den. In fact, I'm all fired up and preparing to do a full chalet make-over. After which, I hope to watch Rafa do his best on the tennis court. The ATP championship is under way.

Back again soon. grin

annsixty Tue 17-Nov-20 13:45:20

soop Molly has a beautiful very wam igloo, she has yet to put one paw inside it after about 18 months.
I can’t believe I have had her for two years in a couple of weeks, she is such a treasure.

I hope the days go by quickly now for your op, I also hope it is a success.
I am taking things slowly but am getting along fine.

Best wishes to everyone who is low or ailing, or caring for someone who is ailing.
I think my GD was really ready for me to be able to do more for myself.?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 17-Nov-20 13:56:10

The gift I ordered from John Lewis has arrived, I ordered by waist size (it is a mans belt) it is so small that I will keep it for me and now have to reorder a bigger one?

I cannot believe that you have had molly two years annsixty where have those years gone.

Any cat that turns up at your home soop is a very lucky ?

Wishing all kitcheners well, I really must make my Christmas cake very soon, thank you for the reminder Galen

ann trust your darling to walk past such a cosy bed. Tara prefers a double bed, mine- a single really will not do. Her cat bed is in pristine condition but I would not waste my time putting it on the floor.

Getting her to take her new liquid medicine is a nightmare. I was in Sainbury's yesterday so added to her food collection. I thought that soup with succulent pieces of chicken floating would be scrumptious and different. One sniff and she never returned to it. It was so much easier when she was on prescription dry food- there was no choice- take it or leave it.

soop please rest- soon it will be over and done with and who knows, maybe a miracle cure.

I am sure the feline visitor will return this evening- he knows he does not have to exert himself looking for his own.

Grandmabatty Tue 17-Nov-20 14:14:14

Soop he is a joy and helps me live in the moment, a skill I need to practise. Today has been puddle splashing and looking in dra. Then sweeping the patio (briefly). At the moment all is quiet as he's watching a film. ?Soapy water play next I think. It's such a nasty day out so I'm happy to play indoors now. Lemon sole and homemade oven chips for tea, as long as I don't fall asleep. Have a lovely day all you kitcheners. Look after those cats! ☺

Grandmabatty Tue 17-Nov-20 14:14:45

Should say, looking in drains.

Susan56 Tue 17-Nov-20 14:19:10

Our DD’s cat, Cupcake is another who shuns her purpose built cat house.Cupcake is finding Barnaby a bit much now she is getting older so DD bought an outside cat house for her.I have attached a couple of photos and you can see who is enjoying the house the most!

Charley,I feel for you trying to get Tara to take her medicine?

soop Tue 17-Nov-20 17:04:08

Cupcake's portrait is now hanging in our Kitchen gallery. Thank you, Susan, she is a beauty.

Grandmabatty, when Torben was wee and we visited London to care for him, his "thing" was railings and steps leading up to front doors. We had to count the steps. He reached the top and waited for us to say...but it isn't your door...so we counted every step down again. We loved those occasions.

Ann keep up the good work. You are recovering at a rate of knots. Us lot are very proud of you.
Thank goodness for Molly. She has been a sweet and precious companion.

The match was fantastic. Rafa lost. However, it's a round robin event, so he's not out of the championship.

Charleyg That Miss Tara is a little madam. Cats! What is it about them that makes us go all soppy?

GrannyGravy I'm eagerly awaiting the visitor. Never, ever have I spent so much time looking through the window. It's not as if I've nowt important to do. wink

Wet and windy weather hereabouts. Time to relax and snuggle down with a brew and the crossword.

Until tomorrow - smile moon

BladeAnnie Tue 17-Nov-20 17:47:32

Always love anything feline related so thought Duncan would like to say "hello" from one of his sacred spaces!!

Grandmafrench Tue 17-Nov-20 18:59:18

Hello Jolly Kitcheners

What a sweet little chap, BladeAnnie. Cats do love a box, don't they. They're like toddlers. Ours will wait to take over the empty Am*!^£ boxes and if they can hide in the garage, they'll keep themselves entertained for hours bashing lumps out of the cardboard. There used to be a lovely old cat who belonged to an ironmongers in Brighton. On the counter, an empty tissue box (not very big, of course), and squashed into it for a good part of the day and keeping an eye on the takings, he was quite happy.

I'm concerned that you are spending too much time at the window, like a poor lonely old soul, soop, waiting to catch sight of your new love. I never dared ask you how you knew if Robbie was a little chap or a chapess. Seems the jury's out on that one. I shall guess that he's a Robbie. Bound to be wrong, of course. Long may he visit and be happy with you.

We've had the most wonderful weather here today and I have to admit that after a busy day yesterday, I have done very little. Well, hurrah for me. I do not care. The focus is staying well and staying in good spirits, so that is going to take up quite a lot of time hereabouts for now.

Hope your little H is fully recovered now, Susan. Was that a view of small Barnaby manoeuvring into Cupcake's garden quarters? Kids and animals do give one hours of entertainment, don't they. (As well as a need of a lie down in a darkened room sometimes!) I am off to investigate cat igloos - just in case.

Have a lovely evening everyone, feet up, little glass of something, relax. Warm wishes to all from you know where.

Susan56 Tue 17-Nov-20 19:38:27

H is doing better now thank you Grandmafrench, still not eating very much but better than he was.

Barnaby actually managed to contort himself into Cupcakes house??

Love the name Duncan BladeAnnie and what a lovely little fellow he is?

TOYA and wishing you a good evening too Grandmafrench??

kittylester Tue 17-Nov-20 19:57:02

soop;I think your cat might be our Kiwi who has been missing for 4 meals so far.

annsixty Tue 17-Nov-20 19:59:49

Susan so pleased Henry is on the mend.
In his photographs he looks such a robust and happy little chap, it is hard to comprehend that he can be so unwell at times.
It must worry you all a lot.

What lovely cats we all have, but they are very fussy about their accommodation.
Molly will sleep on any carpet, any chair or any bed except of course one bought for her.

We have just had Toad in the Hole with particularly good sausages and root veg mash.
I am stuffed.
Have a good evening everyone.

Susan56 Tue 17-Nov-20 20:27:03

Thank you Ann.I was looking at photos from earlier in the year today and it’s shocking how ill he was.He has done really well but it’s still a worry. His consultant said he looks so well it’s hard to believe how unwell he can be.

I like the sound of root veg mash?

Doodle Tue 17-Nov-20 20:47:37

ann have you really had Molly that long? I can remember when you first had her and you weren’t sure at all that it was a good idea. ?
Charley hope Tara is doing ok. Tell her to take her medicine like a good girl or she’ll have to spend the night on the norty step.
BladeAnnie your Duncan is lovely.
Kitty I hope your Kiwi returns safely soon. If he’s made it to Scotland he will be very hungry by now.
Susan hope Henry stays well.
soop I’m sure Robbie will be along soon. He is very lucky to have you and MacSporran to call on.
TOYA?

Feelingmyage55 Tue 17-Nov-20 20:53:22

Oh dear soop - poor Rafa. Ten minutes til g and t. I have to say I was on team Thiem. Give the young ones a chance say I.
I have a spent a long time in the garden today in the hope of improving my sleep pattern.
Watching Bake off and seeing lots of gadgets that I think I’d like but might not actually use.
Panache - how are you?

Nannytopsy Tue 17-Nov-20 22:23:12

Kitty I do hope that lovely cat has come home! We have just taken some big lumps of fur off Charlie, who’s response was to come over and bite my foot. Ingrate!
I went for acupuncture this morning - an unusual lady (?) but I have a suspicion there is an improvement in the knee. ?
Hoping for a lovely day tomorrow, TOYA!

Grandmafrench Tue 17-Nov-20 22:31:07

Take it slowly, NannyT - Acupuncture can work wonders! Sleep well.

kittylester Wed 18-Nov-20 07:06:46

Just to let you know that Kiwi strolled in this morning with absolutely no explanation at all. Kiwi's mum was called Molly, ann.

DH had acupuncture for his hip for a while topsy and it really did help.

Puzzler61 Wed 18-Nov-20 08:47:14

What a lovely start to your day kitty. Your Kiwi, and soop’s Robbie, are typically of lucky black cats. We had one for 20 years named Sooty. We could never replace her, but we have had this beautiful lady for 6 years now. I think she is dreaming in this pic. as her legs are poised for running.
PS Duncan and Cupcake are handsome too. ? ?

Charleygirl5 Wed 18-Nov-20 08:57:33

Kitty I am so pleased that minx has returned to a warm comfortable home with food on tap.

Puzzler Ruby looks as though she may fall off that sofa she has decided is her bed for the moment.

The other cats are beautiful - Cupcake is very photogenic.

I only gave Tara a small amount to eat as it had her medicine in it. She wolfed the lot and then asked for more so she is exploring the big outdoors now.
TOYA

Puzzler61 Wed 18-Nov-20 10:47:09

Phew Charley. Well done. Mission accomplished for today - Tara’s medicine has been safely administered.
Ruby has fallen off the sofa and is now making mischief on a shelf amongst wires for the BT tv box and speakers.

soop Wed 18-Nov-20 13:07:23

I come into our kitchen to discover a host of fabulous felines who are obviously very dear to the families with whom they live. grin Thank you all for new editions to our pampered pets gallery.

Susan I apologise. Have I missed a blip in Henry's recovery? If so, I feel awful for not commenting on whatever has occurred to cause anxiety.

Do you want a cat update? If so, read on. If not, please look away.

Feline visitor did not visit the den during the evening. MacSporran brought an early morning brew and casually said...Fern (he believes she is too pretty to be a he), has had her breakfast and is enjoying a wee top up. I shot from my bed and sure enough, she was sitting inside the den but not inside the igloo. When she went on a stroll in the copse, I removed said igloo and placed it on the boiler to air. I replaced it with a thick tartan rug. I believe that I may have bought a size too small for her to settle down in. We shall see.

You are all aware that I'm as daft as a big brush. So be it. Hands up. I agree.

Charleygirl5 Wed 18-Nov-20 13:13:38

I think Fern would be more comfortable sitting in front of a radiator but if you have a fire, bliss.

Tara did not explore the big outdoors for long- she returned to fill her tum and then have a snooze on the rear of my chair. I am assuming she is not feeling well.
TOYA

Susan56 Wed 18-Nov-20 13:33:16

Glad Kiwi is home kitty?

Robbie/Fern is a very pretty cat and seems settled in her new quarters.

Henry was unwell last week soop, possibly started the day you had your computer problems. He is much better but still not eating very much.He is always wary of food and it doesn’t take much to stop him eating altogether. He has another zoom appointment this month so we will see what that brings.

I had thought the great garage clear out was complete but DH has now decided what is left in the garage needs to be rearranged. He is happy in there and I am having a peaceful day catching up on some reading and will catch up on some TV later.
