Here we are again. As happy as we can be (in the circumstances). All good pals and jolly good company.

Cheers! cupcake wine brew cafe and whatever else that you fancy, providing it's legal. smile

Another one here who reads this lovely thread, but rarely comments.
Take care soop - I love your surreal sick bed portrait smilethanksbrew

Welcome Flora ?

Hellogirl1 Sun 29-Nov-20 22:16:36

First of all, my sincere condolences to Grammaretto. MawB, the verse is beautiful, full of feeling.
Soop, wonderful to see you back, but don`t come back until you`re fully rested and recuperated, take notice of MacS, his orders are given with love. Interesting photo, is that what`s meant by" looking as white as a sheet"?
Welcome Flora!
My new settee to complement the decorating was supposed to come on Friday the 27th. It didn`t, have now had a message that it`s due at their depot on Dec 7th, haven`t a clue when it`ll get to me.

dragonfly46 Sun 29-Nov-20 22:26:33

Lovely to hear from you soop. Tears so near the surface at the moment so can’t stay long but sending love.

Daisyboots Sun 29-Nov-20 22:32:08

Oh dear where has November gone? I had retreated into the world of books instead of social media and the time has just flown by.
I am so sorry that your op didnt go as planned soop but I hope it has done some good. I can well imagine you not wanting to face anymore too. I hope you feel much stronger soon too.
My sincere condolences to you Grammaretto on your loss and to
Blade Annie too on the loss of your sister. She was younger than my older daughters.
Not much about me except I am off for my long awaited second opinion on my cancer treatment at the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon tomorrow. We are in lock down this long weekend and next and not supposed to leave our district council area until Wednesday morning but medical matters are an exception luckily. A kind Portuguese friend has offered to drive our car there as most public transport has been cancelled and I know DH couldn't cope with driving in Lisbon. He speaks very good English so will be company for DH if he isnt able to come in with me.

I missed you earlier Soop! You have had a dreadful time. Lots of rest for you now. Welcome Flora to Soop's kitchen. I've been busy today. I even washed cushion covers. I don't know what's wrong with me. ? See you all tomorrow.

Puzzler61 Sun 29-Nov-20 22:38:43

Hope tomorrow’s appointment at the Foundation gives you more insight and a treatment plan Daisyboots.
Some good luck is due to come your way. I will keep my fingers crossed for positive news from you when you return. Have a safe journey. ?

Grandmafrench Sun 29-Nov-20 23:17:41

Daisy here's wishing you a safe journey and some long-awaited positive information on further treatment. You've waited so patiently. ?

You do sound a lot better and quite cheery, Soop dear, but I was shocked at how washed out you looked. A bit of lippy, maybe, when you are feeling stronger? grin Small medal for MacS and another dish of deliciousness for Fabulous Fern.
Take care, get well please x

Welcome Flora. Hope your sofa turns up pdq, Hellogirl - shops and their delivery promises are the bitter end!

Feel lots better tomorrow, dragonfly. Izabella what a fine eye for detail and atmosphere you have. Loved the crow post!
Puzzler & Ruby x

Sleep well all and anyone I've missed. Tomorrow's another day, and we can make it count. Sending you hugs from France.

Izabella Mon 30-Nov-20 02:57:14

dragonfly are you ok?

Izabella Mon 30-Nov-20 03:05:38

Bright eyed and bushy tailed from the Shire where sleep eludes me. However, looking on the positive side I am being serenaded by a rather tentative sounding owl somewhere out there is the foggy realm. I notice there is some cold chicken in the fridge so may polish that off next together with a cup of tea.

I may pop in again later if I remember. Hoping everyone else is managing a more restful night and TOYA

Puzzler61 Mon 30-Nov-20 10:28:39

Izabella are you a “mid night muncher” or were you typing in your sleep ?
I hope dragonfly is ok, pop in and say Hi?
I think your radiotherapy has finished now so perhaps you are having a lie-in?
Good Morning to everyone, some wishes I’m blowing right across the sea th French France Grandmaf.
I hope this week is kinder to us all and especially to dear soop. I wonder what MacS has on the menu for soop and Fern today? ?
We have no weather here worth mentioning. Outside is still, grey and damp. I awoke to the ringing of the house phone this morning. I was in the middle of a rather good dream .... ? ?

NanaandGrampy Mon 30-Nov-20 10:33:03

Morning all!

Loved the picture soop ! Just make sure you stay there ( said in a firm voice with much finger wagging!! )

Welcome Flora , always room for another one - cake?

You sound down Dragonfly? Anything we can help with ? We’re good listeners ?

It’s Groundhog Day here AND it’s grey and dull and now it’s raining !! Just what I need NOT!

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but we have ALL our decorations up . We had hoped to be having little visitors in December but the new tiers put the kibosh on that so we shall just have to enjoy them on our own. It does make the inside cheery. I’ll add a picture of Grampy putting the fairy on the tree for the first time in 35 years as usually our youngest daughter does it !

soop Mon 30-Nov-20 16:39:20

Welcome Flora, ixion, Sar (who has been absent for a wee while) and pheonix and Urmstongran and to any one that I have overlooked due to the backlog of messages. You are all very special peoples.

Thank you Baggs for your support. I trust that you had a swell birthday.

soop Mon 30-Nov-20 16:56:47

Daisyboots Every good wish for your consultation in Lisbon. You will be in our collective thoughts.

Grammaretto My heart goes out to you. I'm sorry but I was unaware of the awful sadness that has befallen you. I hope that you have the support that you need and deserve. flowers

dragonfly I am concerned for you. Please share if you can. x

N&G Wow! That's a wonderfully sparkly tree. Doesn't Grampy look well proud of his efforts. Bless! smile

Thank you once again for all the very thoughtful messages. I wish that I could gather you all here with us to express my appreciation in person.

Fern continues to give us pleasure. We await her new apartment. I shall enjoy making it comfortable and welcoming. It will provide me with easy access for the cleaning of. At present, I'm unable to get down on my hands and knees and stand up again without a bit of bother. wink

I'm away for today. You all know how glad I am to have you here in the kitchen. I believe that I've told you often enough. smile moon

Grandmabatty Mon 30-Nov-20 17:25:04

It's lovely to hear from you Soop. Keep on resting and doing what you're told!

Nannytopsy Mon 30-Nov-20 19:13:46

Good evening everyone! Grandchildren taken, fetched, fed and returned today. I am sitting with a glass of wine, trying hard to stay awake!
I hope you are beginning to recover soop and that everyone with worries is feeling the warm virtual hug from the whole kitchen. Enjoy the cake too - oatmeal shortbread on the table. Xx

Doodle Mon 30-Nov-20 19:24:47

soop lovely to hear from you. Please take note of MacSporran and rest.
N&G lovely tree. I think Grampy is quite tall judging from the picture. Our tree is tiny ....so I can reach the top ?
daisyboots hope everything goes well at the Foundation.
Take care all

Hellogirl1 Mon 30-Nov-20 23:45:08

Dragonfly, I hope that you are OK?
Daisyboots I hope all goes as you`d wish in Lisbon, a city I`ve always longed to visit.
N&G, great tree!
Soop, one of Lynne`s carers today was with us for the first time. Just thought I`d tell you that she was most complimentary about the 2 paintings of Pepper and Mia that you did an unbelievable 8 years or more ago.

Flora5 Tue 01-Dec-20 10:24:43

Do you know I don't feel quite so lonely ..... made my coffee and logged into GN and came straight into Soops kitchen to catch up . Lovely smile
This afternoon after walking Lolly (dog) I will be making choc chip biscuits to share with whoever would like one .
Much support and loveliness to all . Flo

soop Tue 01-Dec-20 12:58:28

Good early afternoon to my favourite peoples.

Flora Your post reflects my feelings to the letter. If we have a means of communicating with like-minded people, albeit in our virtual kitchen, we are truly blest. flowers for you in anticipation of sampling your choc chip biscuits. wink Do have a photo of Lolly for the kitchen pampered pet gallery?

I know that you lot may think that I'm a bit odd shock but, I love you and that's the truth of the matter.

The postie delivered two parcels this morning. A lovely kitchener has gifted us a Christmas hamper and a separate box of highly calorific chocs. I was able to thank her as I had her phone number from way back when. grin

Hellogirl I am thoroughly enjoying the books that you gave to me. Thank you x

My thoughts are with daisyboots and dragonfly and whomsover is hurting at this time. sunshine

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Dec-20 13:30:22

It's a lovely place to drop in, Flora. I'll have a biscuit thanks. Sooparen't people lovely? Enjoy your well deserved goodies from that kitchener. I've had an armful of blood removed by helga the nazi vampire this morning. Then I decided to go to town to do some Christmas shopping. A lovely gentleman gave me his parking slip which had an hour and a half on it so I made the most of it. Came home exhausted as my system is totally out of whack and had a cuppa and lunch. I'm about to walk to the local Post office to send the christmas cards merrily on their way. I never post cards this early! I'm not feeling smug though as I'm bound to have forgotten someone. Anyway, have a good afternoon all.

soop Tue 01-Dec-20 14:11:06

Grandmabatty You've posted your cards!!! Go ahead. You deserve to feel smug. I'm online searching for animal charity cards. Cannot find the Scottish wild cat charity cards that we so enjoyed sending a year or so ago.

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Dec-20 14:39:14

Oh soop I adore Scottish wild cats.
And N&G your tree is most definitely my cup of tea! Gorgeous!

Grandmafrench Tue 01-Dec-20 15:19:37

Hello dear Kitchen peeps.

Hope you have finally managed a feet up position, Grandmabatty. I had the extraordinary experience of an unplanned blood test this morning. ? I could blame you for starting a dangerous trend, but won't cos you're a nice person and probably thought that you were far enough away not to prompt my local vampire to spring into action. I shall tell you about it anon.

Flora (I had the most darling sheep called Flora), you will never be lonely if you keep homemade cookies about your person. "Us lot' - as dear soop calls us - are without shame when it comes to kitchen treats. You just need to log in and natter about anything or everything. In Covid times we are so grateful for the laughs, the shared problems and the contact, so don't forget, please.

Continue to care for yourself, Grammaretto - you're in my thoughts. Daisy come back safely with some better news, please?and dragonfly hope that your slightly lifted mood is continuing and you're having a good day today. I'm saying nothing about the 3am cold chicken and tea fest, Izabella, but I did laugh!
"Love the tree, N&G, it's def-nut-lee my cup of tea", which is what Fanny said in another way!
Good wishes to all and warm thoughts to everyone absent today. x
Hugs as always from French France

Feelingmyage55 Tue 01-Dec-20 15:41:17

Popping to to check that you are resting dear soop. You may not lift anything heavier that a cup of tea or a G and T. I do hope you are getting a little colour back in your cheeks.
Flora welcome and yes, life is less lonely when you drop in here.
N&G. Beautiful tree. You inspired me to collect one yesterday. G is striking quite a dramatic pose there.
Our village opens its window advent calendar tonight so a little bit of light in the darkness.
TOYA
Shortbread on the side, always shortbread as I have cold hands so it is what I am best at (baking wise).
