Cheers! cupcake wine brew cafe and whatever else that you fancy, providing it's legal. smile

Hello Smashing Peeps

How wonderful to think that after only 2 days away - you're thinking about my health! Have to go some to compete with the problems of some of you lovely people, but I have been feeling ruff! and also quite a bit down!

The Leg situation remains static but not no painful. I am more convinced it is/was a strange bite that caused the pain and swelling - and it was possibly even a spider since I can recall a sudden sharp pain on my leg (inside my trousers) last weekend. However, all I cared about on Tuesday morning was finding out that I was not going to have a deep vein thrombosis and the Doc and the tests have resolved those issues for me. In the meantime and with true and predictable Christmas regularity, I have had some family problems to cope with. Sometimes being a Mum can be a real pain, can't it! This seems to be abating so I shall take the chance to cheer up with all your news and that lovely little vid. from Mawbe. Little children are just so hilarious and that made me laugh and took me right back to our own kids' village school days!!

I shall return to the fold properly tomorrow. I am about to go out with DH - a very big occasion here of late - and enjoy the sunshine, blue skies and lack of annoying winds.

Do hope that everyone is busy in a good way and nobody too stressed or unwell. Lovely to hear that the Panaches are fighting the fight. Wouldn't expect anything else from dear Panache.

Take extra care of The Bot, soop - please don't do too much - whilst taking care of that little spoilt pusscat who has well and truly landed on her paws.

Hugs to all and just....thank you so much. x

Thanks to all for the belated birthday wishes. We had a very pleasant evening and the 2013 Nuits St George lived up to its reputation.
It was a bottle I’ve been hoarding for several years. Just for curiosity I just looked up how much it would cost today!??

Charleygirl5 Sat 05-Dec-20 14:52:47

Susan so pleased to see thatHenry has found a friend! I have not worked out which will be the most mischievous.

soop Fern was fortunate not to get injured yesterday when her new abode collapsed in a heap. Please do not go outside in the cold- you are supposed to be convalescing.

I am aware the surgery was not 100% successful but I do hope there has been some improvement and the agony of it all was worth it.

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Dec-20 14:53:04

Just popping in and I noticed a picture of a calf and a wee little boy - it’s a fabulous photo Susan. I think they are firm friends!
A gentle walk and fresh air will do you the world of good today Grandmafrench.
soop - continue improving and enjoying regular visits from Fern.
Charleygirl where are you?, bring Tara along and come and join us in the kitchen.
Coffee, hot chocolate, and a selection of teas are on the side, with Cornish fairings biscuits.

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Dec-20 14:57:36

Off white Roses (and black cats) for everyone.

Nannytopsy Sat 05-Dec-20 15:17:07

I’ve just had a visit from a WI member with a Christmas present - a poinsettia in a decorated bag and a lovely hand made card. It was a surprise and such a delight! Being new to WI, I wasn’t expecting it.
I hope you all get surprises before Christmas!

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Dec-20 15:21:59

So pleased for you Nannytopsy, poinsettias really signify Christmas for me. What a lovely surprise for you today?

BladeAnnie Sat 05-Dec-20 16:38:07

Just popping in to say hello to you lovely people whilst I enjoy a special tea from my advent calendar

Lins1066 Sat 05-Dec-20 16:40:54

That video is so funny Maw.
A belated Happy Birthday Galen ???, very envious of your wine.
Lovely surprise NannyT, I love poinsettias too.
So glad that Macsporran was able to restructure and rebuild Fern's new home soop. Good to hear from you GrandmaFrench and that your leg is better.
What a smashing photo of Henry amid the calves Susan, really made me smile.
We have managed a walk today, though the wind was cold.
I've been making yeast cakes ( my late mother in law's) recipe. It reminds me of when our daughter was little, she was helping her Gran make an yeast cake and she asked her " When are we going to make a west cake Gran? "
A plateful of sliced and buttered yeast cake on the Kitchen table, have a slice, no calories in our Kitchen remember.

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Dec-20 16:42:22

Hi BladeAnnie what flavour tea is it today?

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Dec-20 16:44:21

My advent calendar chocolate was creamy salted caramel truffle mmm

Feelingmyage55 Sat 05-Dec-20 16:50:30

Hello folks. Belated birthday wishes to Galen. The wine sounds lovely. Any left? Thought not. I have just had flowers delivered from my daughter to “cheer up Mim”.. they made me cry but as Claudia Winkleman says “in a good way”. I am looking forward to Strictly tonight and rooting for JJ - and Harvey - and ........ well the are all great. I wish there was a best lady winner and a best gentleman winner as the demands are slightly different. Certainly when it gets down to the last three or four, there is often so little in it.
Feeling a bit sorry for my self today as I have had a very long migraine, since Thursday but the flowers and an extra dose of medication are doing the trick.problem is the medication makes me feel grotty for another couple of days. The doc has clearly never suffered and seems to think it is just a bad headache. The pharmacist has been the most helpful.
I am going to get a breath of air and plod around the village looking at the advent windows.
soop. I hope you have a good report card for today. I don’t want to have to write “could do better* and definitely no ironing.
Panache ? well done you for keeping on keeping on.
cornergran. They are all lost. But I’m still looking.
TOYA

hmm mountains of recent messages and updates to catch up with.

Grandmafrench The very thought of a spider crawling up my leg and biting me, has put me into a swoon. Please do continue to take excellent care of yourself. I wish that us lot could be around to pamper you. We are virtually hand holding with you.

Hello again, BladeAnnie. Is there a weeny bit for the sharing of? wink
Ditto Lins. I happen to have a liking for yeast cake.

Susan Get that photo enlarged and maybe printed on canvas. It is adorable. Extra special. x

We walked in the sunshine late morning. There was a table of home baked cakes and bread parked outside the village shop. Social distancing and masks and hand gel too. I purchased a blueberry crumble, a gorgeous seeded loaf and a plate of buttery shortbreads. All donations go towards our much hoped for new village hall.

I took a photo of tonight's sky a few moments ago. I leave you with the sunset glow. I shall return tomorrow. Enjoy your Saturday evening in whatever way suits you during this trying time. smile moon
Nannytopsy You obviously deserve a lovely surprise. smile

soop Sat 05-Dec-20 17:05:29

Feelingmyage (((hugs aplenty)))

BladeAnnie Sat 05-Dec-20 17:23:50

Puzzler - it's vanilla caramel. Doesn't sound nice but it was - I've liked every day so far but as Mr BA always says - I'm easily pleased!!

Puzzler61 Sat 05-Dec-20 17:28:11

Anything with caramel is good to me BAnnie ?
I’m basking in the glow of soop ‘s wonderful sunset.

annodomini Sat 05-Dec-20 18:02:32

Loved the video Maw. I wonder how that little sheep, who might be a big girl now, feels about her star turn now!

Doodle Sat 05-Dec-20 20:23:08

Maw that video was wonderful.
Galen that sounds like a nice bottle of wine.
Lovely photo Susan

Take care all TOYA?

cornergran Sat 05-Dec-20 21:05:33

Now I know why I couldn’t find it maw, it was the sheep grin.

Bit of a downer here the last couple of days, my company is not fit for man nor beast as my Mum used to say. Family ‘stuff’ I can’t fix and some horrid physical pain I also can’t fix.

That’s a wonderful sky soop, love the sound of your purchases. Hope that migraine is on its way out feelingmyage. Lovely surprise nannyt, it’s not Christmas without a poinsettia. Having said that I often have a pot full of bare sticks before Christmas Day. This years plant seems to be made of stern stuff, so far so good.

Off to bed now. Early night is called for. TOYA.

Puzzler61 Sun 06-Dec-20 10:15:12

Hello ? to everyone. Am I the first in today?
No sheep or calves here, but especially for those who have a frosty, festive morning today I’m posting a picture of my girl Ruby which is kind of apt.
Will pop back later to read how everyone’s doing.

MawBe Sun 06-Dec-20 10:28:27

Cornergran - flowersflowers

soop Sun 06-Dec-20 13:57:04

Puzzler Yet another beautiful feline to add to our pampered pet gallery. A stunning photo.

cornergran Gentle arms around your shoulders. flowers

I thought that the photos of Fern sitting on her personal branch and contemplating the meaning of life, would add a certain cheer to this bitterly cold albeit bright and sunny Sunday..

Puzzler61 Sun 06-Dec-20 14:33:21

How are you today soop? Getting stronger by the day we all hope.
Fern is so photogenic and so lucky to have found your welcoming home and natural garden habitat to share. It couldn’t suit her better ?‍⬛.
I can almost hear her purring .

Grandmabatty Sun 06-Dec-20 14:47:46

Hello everyone. I thought I'd add to the festive feel with photos of dd's Christmas cupcakes. I can testify that they are delicious! Puzzler61 what a pretty kitty. Cornergran I hope you are feeling better now. ? Soop more gorgeous views. They are cheering for the soul. I hope you are improving too. Well, the decorations are up, the house is cleaned and I'm watching Poirot. A quiet day after the busyness of yesterday. I saw my neighbour's new baby who is tiny and so sweet. I shall have to hand in a wee minding. Roast chicken for dinner later. Take care all.
