There was a recent thread on men we (lusted after) thought were quite nice and spoke well.

Taking an opposite tack I wonder which women GN’s dislike? Recent threads have mentioned Susan Calman, Tess Daly and the ever-unpopular Amanda Holden.

For some reason I can’t fathom I’m not keen on Nikki Chapman and Julia Bradbury should just keep on walking, as far as I’m concerned. ?

if that’s Gail from Coronation Street then she is a really bad actress

But after Aidan Connor had committed suicide, she gave a very moving monologue whilst looking out of her window at the street.

I agree about the Bailey family, the dad just seems to shout, and the wife Aggie is fortunately not in much at the moment.

TrendyNannie6 Sat 24-Oct-20 20:35:33

I’m not a fan of Gemma Collins, Amanda Holden, Emily Atak, Carol Vorderman

I mention no names but the rich and famous who feel they need to tell us how we can lessen our meagre carbon footprints whilst all the time increasing theirs.

Famous people who constantly expose their offspring to the spotlight, with constant snippets along the lines of "so and so shares a of rare moment with child/dren doing something bog standard like eating toast" these insights are often about as rare as Trump's tweets.

Famous sisters women who buy their baby female children expensive shrunk down designer handbags costing thousands of dollars, shock I mean not even big enough for dummy and bunnysad

Terri ?

Naga Munchetty. She ruins BBC Breakfast for me. Constantly trying to point score from Charlie Stayt who at times appears quite irritated by her.

GagaJo Sat 24-Oct-20 21:33:22

Amanda Holden. Fatuous woman. Keira Knightly. Kate Winslet. Liz Hurley. Talentless and self obsessed.

Me too Lucca tends to be the braindead who call her that .I hear the latest polls in England say she's way more popular than Johnston and people would certainly vote for her instead of who they have .

Here is a self-obsessed male who irritates me beyond words and that is Philip Schofield. I keep seeing him weeping and wailing in some other presenters arms since ‘coming out’.

He’s gay, so what. Get over it and make the most of your privileged life. I should think his wife is well shot of him.

He is no doubt penning a story of his life as we speak!

We now have two threads like this. confused

NanKate Sun 25-Oct-20 07:53:24

Yes I accidentally started the second one Lully and now am writing on both!

Oldwoman70 Sun 25-Oct-20 07:55:32

Can't say I dislike any female "celebrity" but I do find I can't listen to a presenter on local radio - she has to have the most irritating voice on radio! I'm sure she is a lovely person but I just have to switch her off!

I like the very versatile and clever Julie Walters. Underneath all that she's a genuine and likeable person.

My first best friend's mom was best friends with Julie when they were at school together.
Apparently she was a very naughty little girl! grin
I have noticed that she has done an awful lot of voice overs recently.

lemongrove Sun 25-Oct-20 08:59:02

NanKate I agree? the level of self obsession is stunning!

Alegrias2 Sun 25-Oct-20 09:01:39

Ooohhh, Disco Dancer, did you think you that joke about the Krankies all by yourself? How original of you!

This isn't a light-hearted thread, its miserable. I guess someone will now say something like "its only banter, lighten up a bit". As for the idea that mentioning men you don't like levels it up, are you aware that we live in the 21st Century now?

Lucca Sun 25-Oct-20 09:01:51

Female celebrities I do like, Eileen Atkins, Joan Plowright, judi dench, Maggie Smith as seen on the wonderful “nothing like a dame” programme.
Class.talent. Wit.

Lucca Sun 25-Oct-20 09:28:05

Alwgrias. Agree totally re the krankies thing!
However not of your point about 21st century.

BlueBelle Sun 25-Oct-20 09:29:38

Oh goodness me alergris what’s wrong with saying you don’t like a celebrity, in this big wide world there’s going to be lots of people you don’t like even you can’t find everyone wonderful
If you find this so miserable it means you must have read through it to get to that conclusion why put yourself through so much pain
Haven’t you noticed that for everyone someone doesnt like there’s someone saying ‘oh I like them’ it’s called conversation
Boring old world if we all like the same person /thing

lemongrove Sun 25-Oct-20 09:30:40

Oldwoman70 ? we must have the same local radio, as I do the same when one presenter comes on.

lemongrove Sun 25-Oct-20 09:31:30

Well said Bluebelle ??

Alegrias2 Sun 25-Oct-20 09:32:26

Lucca

Lucca, we got 50% in common, that's pretty good :-) Especially as my grammar was completely non existent on that post!

What I meant by the 21st Century thing is that people think if they are slagging off both sexes, somehow that makes it OK.

lemongrove Sun 25-Oct-20 09:32:36

Laura Kuennsberg has me reaching for the remote!

Puzzler61 Sun 25-Oct-20 09:35:34

Laura K is a bit like the grim reaper with the news she delivers day by day.

Alegrias2 Sun 25-Oct-20 09:41:46

Bluebelle you miss the point. Would you say these things to these people's faces? That they have a face that deserves a slap? That they are talentless? That they have "lost their chin"?

No, because an internet forum allows people to be rude to others without any comeback.

I just don't find these things amusing when we are talking about real people. There is so much talk about bullying on this forum and nobody seems to draw the parallels between that and the way we think we can refer to public figures that have no right to reply.

So, I will do what you should all do when faced with a celebrity that gets on your pips, and I'll switch off.

DiscoDancer1975 Sun 25-Oct-20 09:49:30

I’d never heard it no, sorry if it offended some of you. I think previous posters were right, it is a nasty thread, and more fool me for joining in.
