Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark here in Brackley this morning but cold and dry ,
Today, a small shop later followed by lunch and settle down and watch the final time trial of the Giro , which will be an interesting finale as we have a Brit and Aussie on equal time ,so who ever gains time on the other will be the overall winner .
Restless last night with the extra hour , body clock needs to adjust .
Take Care
Mick

Morning all from South Notts this sunny morning. Meeting daughter and Dgc for a carvery lunch, although it will have to be served at the table so hope the portions will not be too large. It will help to make the extra hour pass pleasantly and get into a new routine. If the weather stays good we may manage a walk.

Welcome Greenmeadow.

GrannySomerset Sun 25-Oct-20 07:52:01

Not usually so early but the hour has fooled me and I am wide awake. Bright at present but don’t think it will last so must enjoy it while it lasts. Real church, though not the same with no singing, ironing and roast chicken later. C cake made yesterday so I must think there will be something to celebrate in December.

Good Morning from N.Bucks where the sun is trying very hard to keep out from the building cloud
Quiet morning for me while DH finishes off the fencing with SIL.
Meeting friends for a cuppa and chat this afternoon.
I’m not feeling like cooks today so shall have a rummage in the freezer.
Love to hear the good bits of everyones days and best wishes for those who are struggling in any way.

Good Morning Mick and all from a wet S Welsh coast. Not much on the agenda today though a walk is planned between the showers. Lamb shanks in red wine on the menu for later.
The zoom puppy class went reasonably well yesterday after initial difficulty signing in - operator error! Think our puppy took the view that it was his kitchen not a 'classroom'. Ah well, we will persevere, he'll get there.
Another one awake early, though I did sleep better last night.
Best wishes for your daughter Susan. Welcome to the new posters.
Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning everyone from a damp Essex by the sea. It was very windy and wet last night, died down now.
We finished watching The Looming Tower on Amazon Prime last night, well worth a watch. It's about the lead up to 9/11 and how the CIA and FBI didn't communicate with each other about the information they had obtained. A drama about real events.
DH is off to rugby with his grandsons this morning, I may go out for a walk if it doesn't rain.
A lazy afternoon beckons.
Enjoy Sunday and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning All. It's nice to have light in the earlyish morning. Polmont has blue skies and cloud at the moment but I have no idea how the day will turn out. Yesterday was a housework day so today might be a baking day. Definitely a roast chicken day. No plans for me so have a good day all.

Gingster Sun 25-Oct-20 08:16:26

Good morning from a light, calm Suffolk Coast after a wild evening and night. We came up yesterday as Essex is now in Tier 2 (Suffolk still In Tier 1. ). We can’t see anyone at home so thought we may as well come here. We are quite isolated and won’t mix with anyone, so if we have anything ‘nasty’, we won’t share it.

Good job, well done, Scentia’ . ??

I too hate the clocks changing. When the children were tiny, the day seemed to go on for ever ! It really messes with body clocks. ?.

Lovely pic Ashcombe ?

Grannygravy let us know how the Richard Osman book is. I love him with his quick wit so I would imagine a good writer. ?

Beechnut is The Indian Doctor on Netflix?

Grandmattie . What a shame about your DS. Everyone seems to know someone who has tested positive now. My DG is now out of isolation at University. She tested negative but the other 5 in her bubble were positive. If the uni students come home for Xmas, I don’t think they will let them back in the new year. Might as well work from home or write this first year off.

A nice walk along the beach with little pooch this morning , back for roast chicken and syrup sponge and then read the papers. Simple pleasures. ♥️

Have a peaceful day, all. ???

Morning Mick and all from a damp S Hants, think I just heard thunder. Got muddy and wet at the allotment yesterday, but rubbish up the tip, job done. You’re clever scentia I wouldn’t have the patience! Welcome Greenmeadow This gentle thread starts the day well. No real plans today, it’s now raining, again and getting darker. M&S £12 meal for dinner, so minimal washing up, good job as dishwasher kaput. Have a calming day all.

Auntieflo Sun 25-Oct-20 08:21:30

Good morning Mick, Annie and all, from a bright bit of Berks.
Still in bed with my first cup of tea. I evidently bought loose tea, instead of tea bags in my last shop. (should read the packaging) , so it is a bit stronger than usual. We have it weak and black.
Scentia, clever girl. Lovely book box. I love a bit of woodwork.

DH is in charge of the AV at Church this morning, so fingers crossed that it goes well.
GrannySomerset, you made me giggle when you mentioned, at Church, 'no singing, ironing and roast chicken later'. It is so sad that we can't sing, but just reading the words instead, somehow makes them more meaningful.

I finished my jumper yesterday, but when I tacked it together, it wasn't right. The sleeves are humungous, and I am going to unpick them and try something else. Still, it keeps me out of mischief.
Later, I have some bulbs to plant. Yesterday was a washout, heavy rain all day.
It was mentioned that our Gillybob and BlueSapphire, may not return. This is sad, but I send them both good wishes, and hope they are well.#
Have a good day one and all.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 25-Oct-20 08:35:00

Gingster The Indian Doctor was on BBC2 so should be on iPlayer.

Good morning everyone from the sunny east coast of Fife bet it’s freezing out there never mind I know how to spend the extra hour Grammaretto in bed nice and cosy I’m a little sore this morning because of the new exercise routine given to me by my lovely new physio. Here’s hoping my DH and ds agree to having another outing todayto get a Sunday roast dinner. They both do their best with the cooking but hey ho I’m m trying to save them the hassle am I doing the right thing do you think?have a good day everyone try and be kind to yourselves and others less fortunate. We received a wee parcel of food yesterday delivered by a kind volunteer from our local charity donated by the coop. This brought a wee tear to my face for their kindness. My ds bagged the bar of tablet my DH bagged the bar of dark chocolate I got everything else lovely jubbly smile

Good morning all,
I hope you all remembered to put your clocks and watches back an hour. It's going to be dark at 5pm ?.

Popped out yesterday to get some slabs as a base for the new mini greenhouse. Very limited choice, but we did manage to get enough of the kind we needed.

Not a lot on the agenda today- a wait and see day, I think.

Will go back and read everyone's post now.

Take care all, and thinking of BlueSapphire and gilly ?.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow. I was so confused about the time, I had to ask Alexa when I woke up.
DH usually changes them all before we go to bed, but only changed some last night! I woke up and suspected he hadn't change the bedroom one, but didn't want to disturb him to ask, promptly fell asleep again!

Kate, I never got to sort the scarves out. DD's flying visit ended up lasting two hours and my right hand is quite badly swollen caused by my RA, so I gave up on that plan. It was too much hard work, as I have so many

Today I'm working on a funeral order of service for my friend's family.
They were looking for a template, but when I went into my PC, there were none, including my own pre planned one. ( A job I need to get done ASAP)
I spent ages going through my portable hard drives from my teaching days, but zilch. once I found the missing cables for them
I found so much teaching stuff, I will no longer use, so that's a job for another day, to delete the lot.
I now have to start the order from scratch, but instead of making a template, I'm just going to do the whole thing for them, I do enjoy a challenge and it's been quite traumatic for them!

I didn't say Gilly, won't be back, I said I suspected, she wouldn't be back. The last time she contacted me, she felt it difficult to be upbeat on here, and that was upsetting her. I tried to convince her to continue, but to no avail.
Obviously I wouldn't want to reveal anything personal. What worries me is that she has never been away for so long.
That has prompted me to comment that MellowYellow, hasn't been about either. I wanted to check if her patio fruit trees had arrived, as mine had been delivered.

Nortsat, I requested a jiffy bag from the Alzheimer's society, when you first mentioned it, but I still haven't received it.

Have the best day you can everyone. It's roast chicken with all the trimmings for us, as it's already prepared, I will spend an hour reading the Sunday paper. Bliss!

Greyduster Sun 25-Oct-20 08:41:57

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun was out when I got up to make tea, but it’s given in now and gone back to bed. We would have been watching GS play football - cup quarter final - this morning, but he has to self isolate. Very sad for him. It’s going to be a long week for us all. Garden for us if it stays dry, and a curry for dinner. I used a new spice blend. It looks a strange colour?! Have the best day you can folks.

Taichinan Sun 25-Oct-20 08:42:21

Good morning all. It's blowing a hoolie on the Angus coast. As I write the sky is black with hundreds of geese struggling to get into formation - they want to go westward but the wind is trying to blow them out to sea. What strength they have! Well done Scentia - what a talented lady you are. And a brilliant photo from you too Ashcombe. I do love the photos which people post from time to time. At a time when we are all trying so hard to beat this virus, it's sad that your DD has little confidence that parents of children at her school will obey the rules NannyJan. What more can be said to make them take heed. But then I think back to being a young mum of three boisterous youngsters and wonder what I'd have been like ........
I have nothing planned for today except to enjoy it somehow and I wish the same for everyone. Stay warm and look forward to a cosy dark evening. ???

Gelisajams Sun 25-Oct-20 08:47:02

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it continues to rain. It is supposed to dry up a bit later so will take advantage and go for a walk as there are no dry days forecast for the foreseeable future!
Welcome Greenmeadow
Take care everyone and stay safe ?

harrigran Sun 25-Oct-20 08:49:27

Good morning from a lovely sunny NE.
Watched Rebecca on Netflix last night, enjoyed it and thought Kristen Scott Thomas was good as Mrs Danvers.
The virus creeps ever closer, DH's friend and wife have it and their son who has COPD has caught it too. It is very sad as the couple are in a care home and are in their 90s.
DH has not visited them because we have been isolating for our poor health, so no risk to us.
Sister in Germany is going away on Tuesday for a few days with a friend, cases are rising there too. I don't think it is a good idea but she is adamant it is fine. She did cancel a trip to the theatre the other night, I didn't know they were open.
Quiet day with the newspaper today.

aggie Sun 25-Oct-20 08:51:26

Good morning again , well the change in time has been good ☺️ I got the beef casserole in the oven with an apple crumble , checked online ! Oops time for Sunday Church , very lovely sermon ,

Anniebach Sun 25-Oct-20 08:55:07

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Nannytopsy Sun 25-Oct-20 08:58:21

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Welcome Greenmeadow.
We are at a motel (P...... I..) in Maidstone this morning, as we are visiting DD & SiL. They had a flood from their water tank in the loft which has yet to be sorted, so we can’t stay with them. We have seen gleams of brightness, heavy grey clouds and showers so far this morning, so I think unsettled is our best hope.
Lots of messages today resonate with us - we too are having a base laid for a greenhouse tomorrow and had syrup sponge yesterday!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

grannysyb Sun 25-Oct-20 08:59:54

Woken by a clap of thunder! The rain has finally gone and it bright and sunny now, but too wet to do any gardening. Will be sewing and ironing, if its drier this afternoon I might start planting bulbs. Roast chicken tonight, have a good day everyone.

maydonoz Sun 25-Oct-20 09:05:32

Good morning all from a bright and sunny Welwyn in Herts. That hour difference seems to make the morning so much lighter. I can see the beautiful shades and hues of the autumn leaves still on the trees from our sitting room window, what a joy!
A small fruit and veg shop later from Aldi, I find it's too much to do all together now, then get it home on the bus, so I say a little and often is the way forward.
Have a good, safe day to one and all.

GrannyOwl5 Sun 25-Oct-20 09:19:52

Good morning everyone from north Kent; weather could go either way today. We have already had rain, dark clouds, fluffy white clouds and lovely sunshine. All we need for a full house is a sprinkle of snow!
Discombobulated morning; woke up very early at 5am but as ever when I could legitimately snuggle in for a couple of hours I was wide awake. Gave in and downloaded the paper, but wished I hadn’t bothered as full of doom and gloom. One of my cats cheered me up, zooming around the bedroom and then having to be rescued from behind the headboard where she had become trapped. She is a tripod cat having had one of her back-legs amputated last year due to a tumour. She has recovered brilliantly and manages really well, but occasionally gets caught up in situations where she has to be rescued. She has a little harness and lead and goes out in the garden. I tie her up to a washing line and she has the run of part of the garden where she enjoys sitting in the sun watching everything going on and duffing up her brother when he walks past.
Nothing much planned for today. Saw the three GDs yesterday. They live locally and have a large garden; they spent most of the visit demonstrating their moves on the trampoline in between telling me their news. It was a bit disconcerting to talk to them as they did back-flips and star jumps whilst twirling round showing off their dance moves.
Hope you all have a good day; good wishes to your daughter Susan and for those with family or friends battling illnesses. Welcome to new posters.

Grandmafrench Sun 25-Oct-20 09:20:37

Good Morning everyone. Sunny and warm here in ?? But hazy today. Found a 17 year old letter from a friend in Africa yesterday afternoon. We then sat and found photos and reminisced. Africa seemed centuries ago and I never imagined I would love it so. But after that I felt a bit flat. So....after a long and very interesting series of links to other friends online, I came across evidence of a ‘challenge’ which has definitely passed us by - probably due to the pandemic.

Jerusalema ! An African DJ has written this pretty song and started a dance craze. Groups of people everywhere have learnt the moves and I’ve chosen a video by African children which I defy anyone not to move or toe-tap to.........it’s a real burst of happiness. So if you’re having a grey day....or even if you’re not....do watch it. There are many others, on the beach, in pools, in squares, in dance studios. I’ve mastered the moves, I just need somewhere to go and dance with loads of others. Please let those days come back to us?.

Welcome new posters, hope your knee improves NannyT,
every bit of good luck is on its way to you all for tomorrow, Ellan x, enjoy your peace and feel safe, Gingster.
