Hello, I hope people don't mind me asking for some help but a few weeks back my daughters dog had some puppies and when they are old enough I'm going to bring one home.

But I'm really stuck on names for it so if anyone had any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. My other dog is Craig. Thank you very much.

Are they the ones with bushy eyebrows? If so, how about Denis or Healey?

Thank you for all the suggestions I'm finding this really helpful. I live with my 2 grandsons who are six and so far they have suggested Lancelot, Percival and Digby.

I'm quite liking Otto and Colin so far from this thread.

Brody, Prince, Sidney

I think I remember being told that a dog should have a two syllable name. It responds better.

Grandtantje65 I was thinking of Lupin Pooter rather than anything lupine!
However, I'm liking the German names that other Grans have suggested. It's nice to have something so pleasant to think about.

I like Digby Ethelthetank your grandson chose well.

Ellianne Thu 29-Oct-20 15:23:27

Digby will be apt if he wrecks the lawn as most pups do!

DS's neighbour's dogs are called Gnarls and Barkley.

Yes, Digby is great Ethelthetank. I've also heard that a two syllable name works better for responsiveness.

I wasn't aware that a two syllable name is better, thank you for that information it is very helpful

I once had a neighbour with an Alsation cross called Deep. No idea why.

How about Whitty after Chris Whitty? He seems like a nice man. Or, of course, you could go for Boris - or Starmer if you are of the opposite persuasion?

What are the parents called? My latest Labrador is called Incy because her father is called Spyda! I had one years ago called Harmsway - because you had to try and keep everything edible out of harms way.
