Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp grey windy South Yorkshire. A lovely blue moon last night but my camera wouldn’t play ball so no photo - I’ll have to wait until 2085 for the next one! We had a quiet day yesterday - DH disappeared upstairs to listen to his football team on the radio☹️ And then watched the rugby until goodness knows what time?. When he finally emerged I wanted to say “Do I know you?” Today if we get a window we will have a walk, but if not, I will do more work on my rug. Roast chicken later. Enjoy your day everyone and stay safe.

Stillearning I'm fascinated by the Forth Rail bridge and on my bucket list, is to stand underneath it.

I used to watch a programme with DGD, called Mollie and Mack, based in Queensferry. My wee granddaughter would shout, Come quick gran, its your bridge!

It’s grey and breezy here in S E Essex. We have decided to go out for Sunday lunch to our local family run Italian Restaurant, I do hope that they can survive another lockdown.

Other than that I will be making lists!!! I hope to get Christmas wrapping paper and gifts tomorrow so that I can get ahead over lockdown and avoid the last minute Christmas rush!!!! Get Christmas cards written, sort out Christmas decorations and order more outside lights and I fancy another reindeer in the front!!!

Marydoll, your plan to cross the Forth Rail bridge reminded me of a friend, many years ago, taking her primary class to Burntisland for their summer ‘trip’. You’ll remember there had to be an educational part to the day, so theirs was to see the famous bridge. They all duly dismounted from the coach and waited breathlessly for the amazing sight, which of course had been thoroughly hyped up by the teacher. A train duly arrived and made the journey across. The children watched in silence and then a voice rang out, ‘Is that all it does?’?
Still makes me laugh!

Good morning all from Glasgow, where the sun is peeking through the cloudy sky. We have a flood alert here, but it won't affect me, as I can't go out!!

Susan glad to hear your trip went well yesterday. We have booked the Flying Scotsmen for June, but it was almost sold out. The only one left was the evening tour, which I'm sure will be just as enjoyable. We will have to stay overnight in Edinburgh, so a bit of a treat. We have also booked seats for DD and SIL, as a surprise for being so supportive during my rather long shielding.

Lunch, I we have decided to have takeaway today. I have lost my appetite due to my meds and have unusually found cooking tiresome and a hassle lately!

For those seeing family today, savour those precious memories. Despite living ten minutes away, I haven't seen my wee DGD for eleven weeks since the day she started school, as I'm too vulnerable. My son has become paranoid about bringing the virus here, especially as DIL is now back working back as a dispenser in the opticians in a high risk area.

I'm sorry to hear our English friends are in Lockdown, I'm sure we won't be far behind. Take care everyone.

Good morning All. It's wet and windy in Polmont but there are scraps of blue among the grey clouds. I'm having a very quiet day today. All the housework was done yesterday so today will be pottering. I might clean the windows inside. I thought I was having dgs overnight tonight but the plan has changed so I'll get him in the morning as usual. I think I'll do some baking today. Gammon for dinner. Take care all in these troubling times.

Good morning all from the Suffolk seaside. Still very breezy but no rain as yet.

DH came back from his local footie match very happy as his team had won. That cheered him up ! He’s the glass half empty type and I’m the glass half full. Pollyanna is right Susan.

We will probably now stay in Suffolk for the months lockdown, as it’s safer for us here. It’s no hardship as we can have lovely walks, along the beach and in the countryside, with little pooch, potter in the garden , read our books, watch tv, cook warming meals, cosy up in front of the log burner, shop in our local , fairly quiet store. What’s not to like? Reasons to be cheerful! ?

Let’s all make the most of this restricted life, we will get through it, as past generations have got through tougher times. ?

Good morning Mick and everyone. The horrid weather seems to be all over the country, although I can say that there's a bit of lighter grey amongst the dark! Glad you had a good day yesterday Mick - and that you're putting a bit of weight back on. (I'm putting on weight too, but that's not a case for rejoicing!). Miss Chatelaine so glad your kitchen is finally finished. What a joy that must be.

Sad that England is back into lockdown, but I'm certain it's the right decision. I hope the month will do the trick. I'm sure at some point Scotland will be joining you sadly. This is not going to go away quietly.

Off out today to meet DD and her girls for a late morning breakfast instead of lunch. It's DGD3's choice as it's her 15th birthday next week - she saw the menus of the restaurant and discovered that they have pancakes with maple syrup on the breakfast menu! Afterwards she is going to have a lovely time going round shops with money in her pocket - how exciting to be 15!

My journey to Perth will be longer than usual as I have to avoid Dundee and take the scenic route. It's a beautiful drive - on a nice day - but the hills are shrouded in mist today. A bit like the spirits of us all, I suspect. Anyway I'm so looking forward to seeing my Girls and must go now and see what I can do to the ravages of age to make myself more presentable!

Whatever you are doing - or even not doing - today, I hope you find at least moments of warmth and happiness. Joy in small things. ???

Good morning and 'white rabbits' to all on this wet windy morning here in Northants.

Had a pleasant day yesterday watching wall to wall rugby with DD and DS-in-law and celebrating the England overall win. Although DS-in-law (albeit from Northern Ireland) was not happy with Ireland's performance in Paris. Enjoyed an Indian takeaway while watching the England match. DD and I will be watching a recording of Strictly this morning. I managed to finish my latest Agatha Christie yesterday in between the rugby, and now have the film to watch, which I recorded last week.

Nothing will change much for me during this lockdown as I am on my own anyway. Will go out on my usual lone walks, and get my Sainsburys delivery hopefully as usual. Fortunately will be able to continue to bubble with DD. I foresee lots of reading, puzzles and catching up on tv. I had a hair appointment booked for 1st December, which will not now take place, but I have already had an email to say they will contact me to re-arrange.

Luckily we have seen all 3 sets of dgc over the last week so will have that to keep us going for a while.

Roast pork, creamed cabbage, honey roast carrots and roast potatoes for a late lunch and then the papers and tv.

When in November are you coming home ug? Not a very good homecoming☹️.

I slept in. We had a delicious retirement anniversary dinner last night down on the marina and we’re home well before the 11pm curfew.

I’m enjoying my first cuppa of the day on the balcony. No cardigan needed this morning as I look out. The palm trees are like statues in the morning sun. It’s quiet, pretty and peaceful.

Himself has the Grand Prix to watch at 1pm then Man. Utd have a match at tea time. He’s had to forgo the Rangers game at the bar as that falls in the middle of those two and he wouldn’t have enough time to get back up.

Good morning everyone from a very dreich east coast of Fife. It rained loads throughout the night I could here it battering on my bedroom window. I’ll be very pleased when my triple glazed windows have been put in hoping outside noise stays outside.Cereal with a little warm milk today and those lovely fresh strawberries my ds brought in for me. Hoping for a relaxing day today yesterday was extremely tense after trying out the exercise bike I did a good many squats and sitting out as said by my lovely Irish physio I politely told him I was sitting up not sitting out ( in that weather I’m still doing my daily regime as detailed by my physio less the bike ride perhaps I’ll be on the bike on Friday when he comes back again. I’m so looking forward to going to Aberdeen on Tuesday to see my family and getting wee boy hugs have a good day everyone be kind to yourself and others

Nothing planned for today except a Skype call this evening with my brother who lives in Mexico. They sit by the pool in T-shirts and sunhats and we’re sat wrapped up warm on the sofa in front of the fire!
Yesterday we popped round to see the DGC dressed in their Halloween costumes, they were planning a little party at home.
Feeling for everyone facing new lockdown restrictions, November is going to be a tough month to get through?

Good morning from a dull and gloomy Black Country (in more ways than one)

Life won't change an awful lot for me this month, except my Monday walking for health group will not be meeting I assume, or my U3A canal group. These only recently re-started! Partner has got into the habit of going food shopping on his own, so I will have no reason to go out much. At least I can visit Mum as she is in our bubble. Cannot even visit family in the garden though.

My partners daughter in Bristol informed us yesterday she has tested positive. She says she just feels like it is a mild cold, but she has lost her sense of taste. She is 25.

It's difficult with the little ones Maw to explain why life is not the same at the moment. My 9 year old DGD, was upset the other day about not having the family together for Christmas.

Going to make 2 new recipes today. Hazelnut and Apricot stuffing for the chicken tonight. Also, Nigellas Marzipan Loaf, as it looks fairly easy.

Good morning from Shropshire where it is raining again.

We had a lovely day yesterday on our rail trip.The scenery was stunning and it was so lovely to see Yorkshire and Cumbria,two places that we visit every year but not this year obviously.The weather was mixed so difficult to get any decent photographs.

Mary, I would definitely say book your trip for next year.We felt really safe on the train.Screens between each set of seats,sanitiser on every table.The Flying Scotsman would be a brilliant day out.

We were out of wifi range all day so got home yesterday evening to hear about the lockdown.I am determined to channel my inner Pollyanna and keep positive?I can cope with the lockdown but am so anxious about the virus.

Dragonfly, I hope all goes well for you tomorrow, will be thinking of you?

Dwmxwg.... I like the idea of setting yourself some challenges, might take that one up myself.
We have decided to use the imposed time inside this month to decorate the lounge and one of the bedrooms. We have all the paint etc.
Mother in Law and DD2 coming for lunch today.

Good morning from a very blowy Essex by the sea.
We also had wall to wall rugby on yesterday, not my favourite sport but we had tickets to see the Wales /Scotland game back in March but it was cancelled 24 hours beforehand. We were already in Wales and had a lovely weekend.
I have promised to go and watch DH's grandsons play rugby this morning. It might be the last time for some while.
Cross Stitch for me this afternoon.
The news isn't what we would want to hear but we have to make the most of it.
