I am always early as I have a fear of being late.
My Radiotherapy appointment is at 9 am and I arrived at the hospital at 8.10!

I am always early for appointments, trains etc. I did try to arrive on time in the days where one could visit friends.

Dragonfly, hope it’s onwards and upwards for you, thinking of you ????

I am always early and I have waisted hours of my life waiting. I get up early and go to bed early. I often lay the table for lunch when I come downstairs in the morning e.g.. Often about 10am I have finished all I need to do.

I am always early cant stand people being late, especially for appointments,I would rather hang around than be late.

Always early. I cannot be late, it just never happens. I always think I have worked out how long a journey will take but am always there at least half an hour early. I find this quite useful if it is an area I haven't been to before, I usually have a wander around and find a cafe to get a drink and then am relaxed for my appointment. I have a friend who is never late but arrives exactly on the time arranged. I don't know how she does it and for some inexplicable reason I find it really irritating!

I am an early bird. Dont think I have ever been late for an appointment or social event. If I am its due to public transport or traffic conditions

My sil always !! always arrives much too early.
9.15 if we arrange for 11.00.
Then gets cross if we arrive home from appointments at 10.00.

20 minutes early would be ok .It gives me a chance to run aound with the duster and hoover before she comes.!

I like to be early so when I'm ready I stand at the front door waiting for DH who would always be late if I didn't grumble and make him hurry. I can't bear to be late for anything, it just means you have to go in and start apologising, it's ridiculous.

Woodmouse Mon 02-Nov-20 15:18:18

I can't seem to measure time very well and always imagine I'm going to be late for everything. Consequently, I usually arrive early for everything - usually by about 10 mins. I hate it when people arrive late. It shows a lack of organisation and respect.

I love the surprise of my body waking up early esp when the sun is shining. I wake early at the weekends, probably because I don't have work and want to make the best of the days. Whereas my partner sleeps in half the day. Its a cause of much disappointment to me that he wastes a good chance to enjoy days off snoozing in bed. I then have to take myself out for these days, he's not interested in doing anything. I could scream!

I have a friend who is early for everything - I find it annoying, especially for a dinner party when I'm madly dashing around preparing food! I did read that it is actually good etiquette to arrive 10 minutes late for dinner.

As a 'late' person myself - I cant help but get the feeling that a lot of 'early' people like to think they are somehow superior to their 'late' counterparts smile ..... having said that - as a late person it doesn't mean I'm late for appointments, all I do is get there at the right time it's just that I get a sudden burst of energy at 11 pm but have to drag myself out of bed at 7.30 am. grin grin

Happyme Mon 02-Nov-20 17:17:37

Panic panic panic if i am running late. Usually due to trying to fit in too many things before my scheduled departure time. Have nightmares about being late in leaving to go to airport...dream starts with me having days to pack and ends with taxi waiting at door and me still not packed confused. I dont even get a taxi to airport!!!. Dashing off for a covid test now, running late posting this sad

sodapop Mon 02-Nov-20 17:21:59

That's me as well Happyme - note to self must do better.

I can't abide being late & even the thought that I might be late is enough to spoil an engagement. In the days when we were farming, we were often late due to cows calving, harvest, sowing or whatever and it used to take the shine off our few visits out. These days that doesn8t happen but of course we now can't go anywhere for a while!

dinks13 Mon 02-Nov-20 17:50:10

Always late, as hard as I try I am never on time!!! I have a friend who always HAS to be early, turns up at mine at least 10 minutes early or dead on time, REALLY winds me up!!!

Caro57 Mon 02-Nov-20 18:08:42

I’m early, my brother is / was always late until one day I let rip when he was over an hour late (before mobile phones) coming down the highway and I feared he had an accident

cornergran Mon 02-Nov-20 18:11:03

Always early. It means a lot of lurking and waiting but much less stressful than risking being late.

wetflannel Mon 02-Nov-20 18:35:48

Always organised re appointments etc, but as a general rule I'm a night owl, so up later in the mornings about 8.30 am. Husband the complete reverse, early to bed, early to rise. Usually some awful time of 4-5 am.

Sparkling Mon 02-Nov-20 18:43:17

I am an early bird, don’t like rushing if I’m running late.

Casdon Mon 02-Nov-20 18:56:55

Just a word of warning, if you turn up early for hospital appointments at the moment you might well be asked to wait in your car until your appointment time, because a lot of departments don’t have enough waiting space to enable social distancing if patients are early.

Daddima Mon 02-Nov-20 19:05:45

One of my friends says she is at her best between midday and twelve thirty. She doesn’t wake up properly until 12, and starts to feel tired at half past!

I’ve also read that you prefer whatever time of day you were born. I was born early morning, and do tend to be an early riser.

nipsmum Mon 02-Nov-20 19:24:19

You might not like people arriving early but you would be annoyed if they arrived 2 hours late regularly.

Kseniya Mon 02-Nov-20 19:34:12

ohh. I am always late, it always seems that there is still enough time. I always calculate the time in advance and count on a + 5-10 minute schedule and still run or be late. The only thing is, I always come to work on time grin

Shizam Mon 02-Nov-20 19:50:25

One of mine was born two weeks late. He’s always so late for everything, his friends (when they were allowed to meet) tell him meet time is an hour earlier than reality to get him there on time! Maybe it’s genetic....
