It's very foggy out there - The Thames is all 'Sherlock Holmes' and spooky looking!

In the spirit of adventure I'm heading out - when I return will be having a cookathon with all my Ocado goodies. Exciting life smile

I have been out cycling on my brand new electric bike, its only the 2nd go on it and it is such a different ride to my non electric bike. We stopped and bought two take away coffees, put them in our bottle holders and cycled to a spot where we could drink them and enjoy the view. As I have to shield this time it is a whole different ball game, I have books to read, a jigsaw to do and I am attempting to knit a pair of socks on 4 needles. Once a day I will go out and cycle for a while just for some fresh air and exercise. Keep safe everyone and happy.

hapgran, possibly the packs of Lego cards given with Sainsbury shopping for the last month or so. Think they have finished for this year now, last count DGS only needed 6 to fill his album.
My day started according to plan, a nice long, but cold, walk. Beautiful day here in North Hampshire. Went a bit off kilter just after lunch when I went to put some large containers of vinegar in the shed, noticed the water butts were over-full so emptied them to half full. Just about to start on some jigsawing, no DGC duties today so vegging.

What are lego cards, Misal 4?

I have minutes to write up from a Zoom meeting of the committee of a retirement group. I am the secretary but, had to host the meeting as well but, luckily, remembered to record it.

I am busy learning the intricacies of threading my new overlocker. I am waiting for wire threaders to arrive to make it easier.

Very foggy in SE London this morning but now the fog has cleared it’s a lovely sunny day again.
Have changed beds, tidied up living room and bathroom,
Put the slow cooker on the sun is streaming into my kitchen window so enjoying the warmth.
Relaxing on my sofa and debating wether I want to watch Netflix.
Nothing has changed for us we are retired and just carrying on the way we did from March, apart from going to local shops.

Just warapped up warm...going to cut wood for my burner. I have a wonderful electric reciprocating saw that is helping me cut my old jetty up. Will cut enough for a couple of weeks. It is a gorgeous sunny day but rather chilly.

WOODMoUSe. Obviously they would close the clubhouse. People could still easily play golf particularly those in same household. I am not a golfer by the way ! But I feel the same about tennis.

Suziewoozie for once I disagree. If golf is your passion and you stump up for membership why shouldn’t you enjoy playing !

Second consecutive gorgeous day on the south coast, though today was very definitely colder than yesterday. Beach walk, takeaway breakfast with daughter, then we started clearing garage which is full after house move. Trip to tip was wasted as it was shut! Enough. We'll have another go tomorrow.
An hour's house tidying then some craft time.
Stay safe all

Working all day on 8th floor in District Nurses office.

BGB31 Thu 05-Nov-20 12:54:44

Stuck in my work from home office all day (looking out of the window at the beautiful autumn day - sigh).
I worked all through the last lockdown and will do through this one. I know I am lucky to have a job but I am also exhausted.

Happysexagenarian Thu 05-Nov-20 12:44:27

The day started very misty here (south coast), it's now bright and sunny but a bit chilly. DH is tidying up the raised beds in the garden and I'm sewing. A perfect day for me. Lots of online shopping deliveries due today so I can't venture too far from the house or I won't hear the doorbell.

But that’s great - the golf courses are open for walking to far more people to use than they are in normal times including all golf players

Ours wasn’t open last time - well, not until someone broke off the padlock and tore down the sign telling the plebs in no uncertain terms to keep out. Perhaps they’ll have found a bit of community spirit this time round.

I’ve been for a sedate walk round today avoiding any slippery leaves and holding on to DH (one of my more vigorous woodland yomps a fortnight ago ended with me in A & E with a broken arm). Now for some reading, TV, slow left-handed online stuff, snoozing and looking forward to the weekly family Zoom quiz later.

I am washing dahlia tubers in the back garden ready for winter storage.I dug them up yesterday and they are huge. I will probably split them to make more for next year. Sounds boring but very therapeutic.

Awesomegranny Thu 05-Nov-20 12:25:39

Washing, wash the car, make lasagna for supper then off to visit my support bubble. Book to read and photos to edit , watch soaps and that’s my day gone

Yiayia4 Thu 05-Nov-20 12:19:29

Cold and misty here in Surrey clearing the garden up today.
Yesterday was my birthday and we had a bbq in garden with family so nice to see them before lockdown.

Jac53 Thu 05-Nov-20 12:07:33

How exciting often thought I'd like to try that.

Jac53 Thu 05-Nov-20 12:05:10

I went to local shops early and returned to find the carer had arrived to wash and dress my husband, which left me free to prepare his breakfast, put some washing on, fill the bird feeders etc. Later I will walk the cliff top or prom and have a takeaway cuppa. Tomorrow I am caring for my 4yr old grandaughter, happy days smile

crazygranny Thu 05-Nov-20 12:01:13

I have taken my grandson to school and will be collecting him later. I have just finished editing a series of images for a client. After putting the images on a usb and posting them I will finish fine editing a children's story I have been writing. After I have fed my grandson and dropped him home I will carry on writing a synopsis and cover letter to approach suitable literary agents. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Lindylou57 Thu 05-Nov-20 12:00:38

DH will be working as he has done throughout, I look after GD 3 days a week, so will walk her to Playgroup those days, housework, some TV, jigsaws etc so basically just the same as every day!

Nonnapg Thu 05-Nov-20 11:58:18

Doing my (voluntary) advice job in a WFH style - but would really like to be out for a walk! Might get a quick 30 minute walk in later if I finish before it gets dark ??

Nannina Thu 05-Nov-20 11:55:32

No difference as I’ve been shielding since March apart from about 6 weeks August/mid September. My extremely vulnerable advice email arrived last night but didn’t change anything.I have a daily routine of chores, read, garden and craft for charity. Eldest son who is my support bubble visits twice a week and both sons ring every day. I keep in touch with friends via What’s App and have social distanced chats with passing neighbours. The few weeks I did get out were a bit of a let down as my normal social activities are still closed. All in all I’m quite content with my lot so will just carry on carrying on -one side effect is my pristine cupboards and drawers smile

travelsafar Thu 05-Nov-20 11:44:33

Off for a walk around the local golf course with one friend who is a member. We both have mobility issues so possible we won't get all the way round!!! Will be great to be out as sun shining and it is somewhere i have not been before. Then i shall be home knitting, possibly writing out xmas cards, watching TV. Housework all done, dinner prepped for tonight. Hope everyone has at least one thing to look forward to today. smile

BusterTank Thu 05-Nov-20 11:34:18

It's bright , cold and crispy here in East Sussex . So I will spend today indoors in the warm . Doing a bit of housework , shop online for Christmas presents and also do a bit of knitting . Hoping everyone is having a great first day of lockdown .
