Nigella's 'Pleasure Palace'?‍♀️

Son number 2 really likes her and is always joking with his wife about Nigella’s “culinary skills”. Dear DIL in turn, does a brilliant impersonation of Nigella .... always makes me laugh.

Oh I love Nigella, could watch her for hours. My DH loves her too, although don’t imagine he watches her for her culinary skills tbh ?

A typical Nigella comment to attract attention. I can't be doing with the woman I'm afraid. All that finger sucking, sidelong glances and innuendo repels me. Mary Berry any day of the week.

She gets right up my nose. All that twinkly, winking posing. Cant watch it. I did try one of her recipes once..total disaster, quantities all wrong. I've got better recipes in my Dairy Book of Home Cookery!
Whoever said Nigella puts women's equality back several decades is quite right. Silly twit.

Only if I'm making cakes. I don't mind Nigella. I did read that the 'friends' at the end are complete strangers.

Being honest, I rather like watching her. I wonder why I see her differently.... miaow!

I dont think she has a lack of talent at all.

I use loads of her recipes and they are always a success. She and Nigel Slater are my go to cook books.

Nigella. Where do I start. Totally agree Felice. Yuk! She sets back women's credibility a century. It's a classic case of using sex as a selling point. Can you imagine Rick Stein doing this? Lol! Imo the way she behaves covers up her lack of talent.

I do enjoy cooking in my ‘new’ three year old kitchen but would not exactly describe it as a pleasure palace. I admire Nigella though, she writes beautifully and inspires me to try out her recipes which is the point of the books

No its just another of one of the silly things she says to get attention. I've decided to watch this series as I need a good laugh. I'm happier with Jamie as I can cook the things he does and people will eat them. DH just bought me Jamie's new Christmas Cookbook and its really good cant wait to try some new things this Christmas.

In her early days as a TV cook I enjoyed her recipes but I find her increasingly difficult to watch. She does, however, write beautifully so I have a few of her cookbooks.
And yes, she was never a chef. She's a cook.

Slurping spoons, sucking fingers and hair everywhere, yuck gives me the heebies !!!!!

I’d be very happy if I had the wherewithal to employ a cook and never produce a meal again, unless the fancy took me.

Having said that, I have a very nice kitchen/family room and it’s a cheerful, sunny place to be.

My kitchen is just a necessary evil. Couldn't care less about it. Its a place where there's a sink, a fridge, an oven, a microwave and toaster. There's china etc in the cupboards. That's it.

I love stirring something delicious in the kitchen but ‘pleasure palace’ might be a little OTT but then she does over egg things doesn’t she!

Do like the fact that she calls herself a cook rather than a chef and I’ve cooked a lot of her recipes.

Not a pleasure palace but my territory No one else cooks in it cleans it or organises it .Thats how I like it .

I cannot stand the sight of her so watch zilch she appears in.

Flowery language but I too feel the kitchen is my “domain” and where I feel most comfortable.
My choice of radio, my choice of activity, cooking or baking and although I do have the whole house to myself now, the room where I feel most myself.

Not quite but I can see where she is coming from. I think she describes herself as a cook rather than a chef which perhaps makes a difference.

Oh no! Innuendo and suggestion can be taken too far and then it's just silly. Never did find her particularly interesting and I'm reliably informed she does very little of the actual cooking, it's done by minions then she comes on and poses!
