I’m waiting for Trump to get over his sulk. See what he does. Odious man

If only all those Trump supporters had an inkling of the great sigh of relief that went round the world when Biden hit the 270 votes and the billions of people who mentally thought 'At. last America is great, again'. If only they understood the extent to which America has been a laughing stock for the last four years, they would be very very surprised.

Hope your sprightly 93 years young mother has had a lovely Birthday ? ?

It’s a sense of relief I wasn’t expecting to feel so strongly to be honest.
His abhorrent ways were far reaching.

I’d told myself that if the Orange One was re-elected, I would avoid any news items that contained his name fir the next four years but I am soooo happy that my resolve is not going to be tested as I may have been found wanting.

It’s also my mother’s 93rd birthday today. She’s pretty housebound due to arthritis but she is totally independent in her own home and still fascinated by the world and what goes on in it.

Yes Jane10, it's such a relief that Trump lost this election. There may be trouble ahead (a song for Trump) but it feels like the grown ups are back in charge of the White House. No more obvious distortions of the truth, outright lies, frantic tweeting at silly o'clock.
the world feels a safer place

Or maybe just the eye of the storm but its such a relief that Trump will soon be gone

I agree, they just both seem so normal it’s like a caricature has turned into a real human

No longer will I feel that horrible revulsion when Trump appears on the TV!

Septimia Sun 08-Nov-20 19:36:45

Yes, a weight has been lifted.

I know what you mean Jane10 it feels a bit like a storm has passed over.

Just watching the 6 o'clock news. So nice to see the wonderful celebrations of Biden's victory. So many happy cheery people. Kamala's and his speeches were just what needed to be said. There seems a massive 'phew' going on around the World (apart from obvious places)
Just a change of news was so refreshing after watching in trepidation re coronavirus news for so long and having given up watching the Brexit comings and goings last year.
Usually, Remembrance Sunday is a serious day for us as we're remembering lost family members but it feels like a better one today somehow.
