Let's all post up an uplifting heartwarming clip or photo to boost our spirits during lockdown.

Here is one of mine:

Alioop, your dogs ears might be the cutest thing I’ll see today.

Alioop

My best friend just relaxing after her long walk. She puts a smile on my face when I see her each day morning. I rescued her and she rescued me right back.

How cute........love her ears!

Two lovely boys playing violin during lockdown in Italy, they are very talented - such sunny personalities, very cool kids

My dogs ears are supposed to tip forward a little at the ends being a fox terrier, but as you can see they stand up so proud lol. They are a talking point when we are out for a walk. She's ears like a bunny lol

Not sure if this is heartwarming as such

It's beautiful and desperately sad

But it is lovely to see her coming back to life

She was a prima ballerina in NY in the 60s

Moggy what a gorgeous cat! Those crossed paws.?

Grannynannywanny Mon 09-Nov-20 22:00:34

The clip of the ballerina is beautiful! So often we see music bringing life to even those in the late stages of dementia.

chrissyh Mon 09-Nov-20 23:50:43

Oopsminty that clip is really moving.

Hope this link works. Brought tears to my eyes.

WOODMOUSE49 Tue 10-Nov-20 12:31:35

Sorry oopsminty. Hadn't realised you had posted it too.

Riverwalk Tue 10-Nov-20 12:40:15

I'm sorry to be the party-pooper here but while it's very touching to see the poor woman re-enact past glories it's obvious that she is upset and it's causing her distress.

It's a gross intrusion of her privacy to have this splashed all over the internet - I would hope that my children wouldn't allow such footage of me to be shown, if and when I'm past giving consent.

Oopsminty Tue 10-Nov-20 12:49:30

Oh Riverwalk

I'm sure her family are incredibly proud of their relative.

She was emotional due to the music. That piece always bring tears to my eyes and to many others. It's a beautiful piece.

If you watch another clip she is seen discussing it with her family member/carer, explaining how the music makes her feel

I would love my family to be able to post something like this about me after my demise but sadly I don't have very many skills

Riverwalk Tue 10-Nov-20 13:01:50

Well I have no such skills so there's no chance of me being put out there.

By all means show footage of people, when in their prime, who now suffer from dementia to remind the world that they weren't always old girls/boys who don't know what day it is, but it's exploitative and mawkish to show a woman caught in her thoughts and memories.

Oopsminty Tue 10-Nov-20 13:07:27

I do see your point, Riverwalk

When I initially posted this I did wonder if it was heartwarming due to the fact it was terribly sad.

But weighing it up I'm of the belief that it was quite beautiful to show.

There was another clip of a lady, 102, who was shown footage of herself, dancing as a young girl.

Here we go. This lady doesn't have Alzheimer's so slightly different

Riverwalk Tue 10-Nov-20 13:14:55

This one is not slightly different, it's completely different!

The lovely 102-year old has full mental capacity, from what we can see, and it's wonderful to see what a gorgeous young dancer she was. Also it quite obviously gives her great joy to see the footage.

This is heartwarming
