biba70; I do have a topper, DH tries his best to get me not to use it as he feels the edge of it, aah, poor thing but I refuse.

why not get a good foam topper for your side of the bed - better still - your own bed smile (bliss)

Do you have a foam mattress and do you love it or hate it?

Trouble is my DH likes a firm mattress so I'm not likely to get one but I'd like to know how you feel about them and what type to get in case we try two single beds put together.
