Really light hearted (superficial and daft) even) thread

On another post, someone suggested that it would be a good idea for posters to have avatars so that it would be easier to recognise each other.

In mind of that, I thought that perhaps we could describe ourselves a little, so that we can have a mental image?

You could start with a well known person who you have been told that you look a bit like; or a person who you would like to look like; or just give three adjectives.

So, to get the ball rolling, MrC thinks that I look like Boy George in his younger days (I know, aren't I the lucky one, blush)

I would love to look like Helena Bonham Carter, but I'd settle for Kirstie Alsop (they are sort of idealised versions of me).

I hope that we have some fun with this thread.
Do with it what you want!
Like I said, it's just a bit daftsmile

My son’s friend always calls me Wendy, as he said I looked like Wendy James ( I’ve never heard of her either). However, I suspect he meant Wendy Richards ( Pauline Fowler off of Eastenders), and didn’t like to admit his mistake!
I was approached in a Glasgow restaurant once and asked if I was Margo MacDonald (SNP politician), and before the hair colouring and weight loss I looked like Ma Larkin!
Nowadays I don’t look like anybody.

Hello here’s my Memoji x

I think I look like Elle Macpherson is she was a lot shorter, a lot fatter, had darker hair and hazel eyes we could be twins [laughing]

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 16-Nov-20 12:14:48

I look like ME!! I did do an avatar for facebook, but have no idea how to access it here. Probably a bit like Marydoll's with grey hair?

Sparklefizz Mon 16-Nov-20 12:13:15

I have been told several times that I looked like Elaine Page (but not able to sing as well!) I could never see it myself.

kittypaws49 Mon 16-Nov-20 12:10:44

Your description, Moggycuddler, would fit me pretty well too !
I know who I would love to look like, it would be Catherine Zeta- Jones.
I was once told that I looked like the actress Katherine Ross, but I couldn't see it.

I think avatars need a slightly older basic model but everyone says it’s a good likeness of me before lockdown over eating...

I don’t know who I look like but everywhere I ever go people are convinced they know me. So there must be a few doppelgängers around.
hmm

I'm a bit like Dawn French

From 3 year olds - I'd take it!

A lot of friends and family have said that when I was younger I looked like Kate Winslet....in her Titanic days.
Now it's all sort of dropped confused

Given a choice, I wish I looked like Helen Mirren.

I have a very dear male friend who said I looked like Blondie - Debbie Harry! My children are bemused because I insist I believe (and want to) look like Judi Dench even though she is over a decade older than I am, especially when my hair is very short. I think she has aged beautifully and love her wicked sense of humour.

B9exchange Mon 16-Nov-20 11:53:20

Several people have told me I look like Zoe Wanamaker, I have every sympathy with her as the long suffering wife in My Family!

Magme Mon 16-Nov-20 11:53:18

Mine depends on my hairstyle. I’ve been Annie Lennox, Princess Anne and the best one yet was Jill Dando years after her funeral and the guy insisted that I was her despite this.

Kellie40 Mon 16-Nov-20 11:50:35

Most off my life I’ve been told I looked like Madonna, except she hasn’t put on weight due to the menopause!!!!!

widgeon3 Mon 16-Nov-20 11:49:01

Thank God, no-one has seen any likeness between me and any 'celebrity' EVER
My grandmother was, I believe an anorexic. I only ever saw her eating Heinz tomato soup and Morecome Bay potted shrimps She was married with an 18" waist and wasn't much fatter when she died. She took size 4 in shoes but would buy size 3 which she would soften by pushing in large well-scrubbed baking potators at night
She also had a huge dew-lap which did not go with her almost ephemeral shape.
I inherited this pendulous chin so must say I look like her although about twice her weight

One day about 20 years ago I was stopped at three different times in different place because I was told I looked like Anne Robinson!
I now see my mother when I look in the mirror.

When I was younger I was often told that I looked like Lynda Bellingham in the Oxo adverts. Now I am often told this avatar is exactly like me! I always thought my DH looked like Dudley Moore. grin

Alioop Mon 16-Nov-20 11:39:59

Hair like Julianne Moore, but pity not the face as I think I look like my dad.

Lulubelle500 Mon 16-Nov-20 11:38:36

When I lived in Paris I was sometimes mistaken for Jane Birkin. Girlfriends over here thought I was like Cher (after the work!). My husband said when he first met me I looked like I needed a square meal.

schnackie Mon 16-Nov-20 11:38:16

No one famous, but when I was young I was frequently asked if I was so-and-so, some acquaintance of theirs, and I got to the point where I would just say "No, but I apparently have a very common face."

I’m the image of my mother, but I’ve never been told that I look like anybody famous.

grandelly. You would be better starting a fresh thread.

Welcome if you are new.
