Today will do a shop later , and maybe spend the day in as usual.
I cannot wait to able to get out to further afield on the buses .
Take Care ,

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all. At the moment it is bright, sunny and chilly here in this bit of Berks.
I woke this morning with our Gilly on my mind. I was gazing out of the window, waiting for my morning cuppa, and thoughts of her kept going round and round. I hope she sometimes reads this still, and knows how much we care for her and miss her, a lot.
EllanVannin, your mincer wasn't by any chance a Spong, was it. I still have my old one, and it comes out occasionally. Many years ago, when on holiday in Turkey, we stayed at the same hotel as one of the younger Spong family members.
I think we will go out this morning and shop for things forgotten at the weekend. Then the radiator man is coming to sort out our new radiators. His sidekick left his sweatshirt here when they were working, so I can return it to him. He hasn't bothered to come before, so can't have missed it much.
Marydoll, enjoy your wee GD's birthday and try to keep from pulling your hair out, with this enforced inactivity. Angina is a real pain in the bum. So take care, and get better soon.
Dragonfly, best of luck with your Dr's appointment, and flowers for Bellasnana
The marmalade I made yesterday, hasn't set properly, so it may have to be boiled up again, as I don't like it running off my toast.
Best wishes to all those with various troubles, and have a good day one and all.

Morning everyone. It's dry but dark in Co. Durham. Not much planned for today. A bit cleaning up then this afternoon my sister will phone so that will be nice. Take care everyone.

Good morning all,

It's rather dull but mild today in South Yorkshire.

I'm waiting in for the heating engineer to service the gas fire, gas hob and boiler. He's due any time between 10 - 2 . It should have been done on Friday, but they called us to say there weren't enough engineers due to staff shortages so it was rearranged for today. I wonder if it will happen?

Not a lot planned for today, other than a small amount of ironing and maybe another walk. Took a walk yesterday and it was very pleasant.

I will go back and finish reading all the posts now.

Take care ?

Good morning all, a wet gloomy day here in Preston. I’m feeling dizzy today, got out of bed and promptly fell back onto it. So am planning a quiet day sewing. Hope everyone has a peaceful day, haven’t read all your posts yet so will do that now.

flowers for everyone who makes this a good place to be.

Good morning everyone. It can't make its mind up here near Heathrow, one minute it's sunny the next overcast. Not that it really matters I am not going anywhere!
I didn't get any baking done yesterday, the new vertical blind for the lounge arrived. I only ordered it (made to measure) 6 days before now that's service! Of course my OH wanted to put it up straight away. So I had to set to taking down the old one, giving the frame a good clean and the windows before he got on. It had different fittings to the last one so the drill had to come out! He does like his toys out!!
Anyway I have to say it does look better but when the sun is shining I can see streaks on the glass and it's driving me mad so I will leave you now and find a soft cloth!
Stay safe everyone, hugs for all that need (or want) them!

Good morning from the north of Scotland. It is grey and gloomy, wet and windy. Washing is in the tumble drier, soup is on and I’m about to do some online Christmas shopping. I watched the first couple of episodes of series 4 of The Crown. I’m reserving judgement, but it is strange to watch this more recent period and am left to query how accurate it is. Judgement reserved for now. Tennis this afternoon.
Have the best day you can.

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it has just begun to rain. Most of the things due to happen today have happened: A flip-chair came for DH, the plasterer for the ceiling, the garden girl to finish her tidy up, so we are just waiting for a physio to arrive.

Happy birthday to Marydoll's wee DGD. I very much hope you can see her soon.

I am so cynical about the Scottish lockdown. Anything is possible unless you enjoy it and then, sorry but, it's forbidden.

DGS is sitting his grade 6 piano exam today in RL! I assumed it would need to be on zoom but it's in the church or church hall.

EllanVannin is sounding upbeat and I hope everyone has a nice day whatever you are up to.

Morning from very wet S Lanarkshire, just a quick visit, I’ll read all the posts later. I read yesterday’s messages late in the afternoon and loved your evocative description of your local market so much Grandmafrench, that I went and dug out one of the two remaining bowls I still have from the market in Sarlat 43 years ago. I had my soup in it and was warmed by it and such happy memories, thank you!
Good wishes to all.

Good Morning all from cloudy, soon to be wet Harrogate. Today not much doing, not even putting a wash on!! Debating whether or not to make some biscuits, but might get through the bought ones before they are out of date.
You seem to be keeping bright between your treatments, Dragonfly.
Great you have found a Xmas present, Ashcombe
That sounds a great idea, Dumpling, having a woman shed!! I've been trying to create something similar, but DH keeps putting the dog food in it and DGSs pushchair, also a sack of plaster. It's only a small room - I give up!!
Hope today will be a very good day for all - stay safe.

Don't give up Gwenisgreat1 put a lock on it. Tell "him" it's for your sanity, which it is.

Urmstongran Wed 18-Nov-20 11:13:46

? for you harrigran you are going through a tough time at present which must be such a worry for you both. x

Spec1alk Wed 18-Nov-20 11:23:47

Good morning all from a grey and windy North Wales. I’m going out for lunch for the first time since March! This will be a step back towards ‘normal’ for me. I’m really looking forward to it.

Good morning everybody, from a rather wet Sidmouth. My large domeshaped skylight is leaking rather badly. I don't know if it can be fixed. Would it be a glazier who would do this sort of work?
I'm trying to decide whether to buy those Innovo shorts as advertised on Gransnet on 9th. Has anyone tried them?
I do hope all those suffering from ill health or worries find themselves improving as the day/week wears on. Everybody have a nice day!!!

Taichinan Wed 18-Nov-20 11:48:44

Harrigran so sorry for you both just now. It never rains but it pours.. Let's hope the sun shines for you again soon And Bellasnana too. I can bear things for myself, but hate my family to have problems, so I can understand how you feel.

There are so many problems just now amongst us. I think we are all so jaded now, and the news just doesn't seem to get better. And I went for my opticians appointment this morning to find that I have fluid build up in my right eye which is causing loss of central vision in that eye. So I have some hospital visits to look forward to now involving injections into the eye. Oh well, I was bemoaning having nothing to look forward to. Be careful what you wish for is the phrase that comes to mind!!

Marydoll sorry your angina is playing up. Somebody up above described it as a "pain in the bum". But I don't think that's right, do you? ?. Rest up and take it easy while you think of your lovely little five-year-old today. Happy Birthday to her ?. Now I must be off and look for my ? because without it I get nothing done. I've just remembered I have the boiler being serviced at some point today. It's an outside one so shouldn't be too much of an upheaval. ??

Good morning Mick et al. Grey day and rain to come. Decluttering day, one of the good things to come out of lockdown (autocorrect as lickdown ?) I’m amazed how early some grans get up! Wish I had that, I’m a nightbird, well I used to be...
Awful night tossing and turning for no reason, especially after walking about five miles. Ended up dreaming this morning I was standing with Prince Philip watching the Queen Mother row out across a stormy loch. Will start on The Crown tonight.
Thoughts to the troubled.

Bit late for Good Morning ! Been busy trying to clear up to make space for when I put up a few decorations , outdoor lights will be the main theme !
The sun has just come out , alas it is accompanied by a shower of horizontal rain !
