They never spend hours on the phone, listening to Enya sing "Sail Away" while they wait to speak to an advisor because their circumstances have changed.

boheminan Wed 18-Nov-20 12:16:32

...They never go to the toilet

Lolo81 Wed 18-Nov-20 12:17:45

Very few of them seem to use the bathroom either - I mean I don’t want to see that obviously, but it is a fact of life grin

MissAdventure Wed 18-Nov-20 12:18:22

They never catch their sleeve on a door handle.

Lolo81 Wed 18-Nov-20 12:18:29

Great minds and all that boheminan!

MissAdventure Wed 18-Nov-20 12:21:39

They never say what time they're meeting up with someone.

LadyJus Wed 18-Nov-20 12:24:17

You never see the frustration of waiting for a court case, everything gets sorted out within weeks instead of years!

Charleygirl5 Wed 18-Nov-20 12:27:24

All appear to have plenty of money whether they are employed even in a menial job, being able to go out for breakfast so frequently.

MissAdventure Wed 18-Nov-20 12:27:34

They don't spend most of their time on social media, posting pictures of their dinner.

MissAdventure Wed 18-Nov-20 12:29:40

You never see anyone pacing around, saying "Can you hurry up, please?" at a toilet hogger.

Lexisgranny Wed 18-Nov-20 12:33:16

They never seem to decorate their houses, though many have wallpaper, curtains etc which are now in the shops. You never see where those who have cars, actually park them

dragonfly46 Wed 18-Nov-20 12:36:16

They never seem to run out of space - their houses seem to accommodate everyone who needs to be there. I often wondered how many bedrooms the Queen Vic has.

Kate1949 Wed 18-Nov-20 12:36:56

They rarely arrange meeting times - I'll meet you at so and so later. In the pub they ask for 'a pint please'. A pint and of what?

MissAdventure Wed 18-Nov-20 12:42:50

They never change their bedding.

MamaCaz Wed 18-Nov-20 12:46:22

I agree with most of these, but not the toilet one.
It's fairly common now on Corrie (maybe Emmerdale too?) for someone in the pub to say they are off to the toilet, or in their home to tell someone to hurry up in the bathroom. Quite a few scenes take place in the pub toilets too. grin

DanniRae Wed 18-Nov-20 12:50:35

Their lives are so busy and they are never bored.

MissAdventure Wed 18-Nov-20 12:51:14

Things have obviously gone downhill since I last watched a soap!

I blame pooping flamingo games. wink

sodapop Wed 18-Nov-20 12:53:48

Eileen Grimshaw's house is a case in point dragonfly there have been five or six people living there at times.
Never see anyone doing housework laundry etc. How many people actually use a launderette on a regular basis now as per Enders.
Roy's Rolls must be a veritable goldmine as Corrie folk never have breakfast or lunch at home.smile

If I could get out more I would !!!

No 2 characters ever have the same Christian name.

No one has to cope with a crisis without being on first name terms with a very obliging solicitor/doctor/nurse/police officer who lives a few doors along.

BlueBelle Wed 18-Nov-20 13:09:20

Does anyone read a book never seen any bookcases in the living rooms

Sarnia Wed 18-Nov-20 13:13:19

Coronation Street is set in the Manchester area with Manchester City & Manchester United on their doorstep but you never hear them discussing football, even in the pub.

Grannynannywanny Wed 18-Nov-20 13:18:06

I think they play safe and stay neutral on the football topic. They refer to a fictional football team. One of the cast is a player. Can’t remember the team name. Weatherfield County maybe?

MissAdventure Wed 18-Nov-20 13:18:45

They never watch soaps!

Namsnanny Wed 18-Nov-20 13:22:41

Never see continuity........ example: suntanned face, change camera angle then pale face for next shot!
Eileen Grimshaw, Nick (whatever his surname is) and many others.

Ashcombe Wed 18-Nov-20 13:22:58

Or do ironing or make shopping lists or online grocery orders!
