Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark start this morning here in Brackley , think the outside temperatures are going to be very low this morning, and the cold grey skies above .
Today nothing much may compile my xmas card list , as we start week 3 of this lockdown ,and await what next has the government got in mind?
Take Care ,
Mick

Thanks all for news about Maw’snew name! Escaped my notice. Good job she’s kept the Maw bit - I’m rubbish at recognising posters if they change their monikers.

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all, from our dry ut dull bit of Berks.
Yesterday I had to re- boil my Mamade marmalade, as it hadn't set properly, and I also made a batch of Tuscan Bean Soup, that someone on GN had mentioned. As I had all the ingredients, I gave it a go. It smell good and we give it a taste test for lunch today. There was enough to make 4 other portions to freeze, so I hope we like it.
Marydoll, are you behaving yourself, and not doing too much? By the way, we love your Mars bar cake, and so did the chaps who came to do our radiators the other week.
BlueSapphire, it sounds very much as if we have the same shoulder pain. Mine has been going of for 2/3 weeks now, under my right shoulder blade. Now it appears to be migrating to the left side. I have also now got pain in my left arm pit? When I was in hospital, last week, I was told that I shouldn't have blood taken from my left arm, as I have had breast surgery. But until then I didn't know that, and have gaily been offering either arm. Oh well, hope it hasn't upset the apple cart.
Grannyowl5, i think we should call those little invisible laundry aids, The Lenders, as opposed to The Borrowers, as we have them in our house too.
Nothing planned today, except a trip to collect prescriptions.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning from a brightening Stockport.
We actually have some patches of blue.
I will get out for a short walk later.

I have a telephone appointment with a physio this morning to check my progress after my hip replacement which was 6 weeks tomorrow and the surgeon is ringing on Saturday morning, I hope and expect that both will discharge me.

Taichinan I had 18 months of eye injections for AMD and truly it really is nothing like you dread.
I was a bundle of nerves the first time but the staff were wonderful and I Beverly felt nervous again.
Good luck with it all.

The patches of blue are disappearing, nothing new there then.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning Mick and all. Blue sky but wet underfoot.
I nearly slipped up putting food out for the birds!
Repeating farviews sentiments 'look for the happiness' if you can.
Take care everyone

annsixty Thu 19-Nov-20 10:53:39

I really don’t know whether or not Beverly felt nervous but I didn’t!!!

HAZBEEN Thu 19-Nov-20 11:07:32

Good morning all from near Heathrow, the sky is darkening again looks like more rain!
Another quiet day I think but then again anything could happen and in this house usually does!
Stay safe everyone.

Good morning all, sneaking in under the wire again! By the time I’m up, dressed, household jobs done and settle down with a coffee and read all your posts the morning is nearly gone. The sun is shining here, head not as ‘spiny’ today, BP 101/ 66, so will try a short walk after lunch.

Enjoy your day all.

Blossoming Thu 19-Nov-20 11:15:47

Spinny not spiny!

Nannytopsy Thu 19-Nov-20 11:30:16

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Mostly grey but bright (IYSWIM) in Suffolk this morning, although we have just had a shower.
Lots more cheer on here today - perhaps we are over the hump of the lockdown. Marydoll I am always ‘losing’ things like you Mars bars and I wander around swearing to myself. Glad Maw has been found!
At the side of our property from the patio at the back to the front garden, there is a rather ugly, 6’ retaining wall, built of breeze blocks and painted pale yellow. Today’s job is to screen it with horizontal planks ( think the Rich brothers on Garden Rescue!) like we did at the top of the garden. Then I shall plant climbers. Suggestions on a postcard please!
I am glad we can do this kind of thing but I am envious of everyone going for walks. If I had made more effort before, maybe my knee wouldn’t be in the state it is now.
I hope the day is kind to everyone

Love Tuscan bean soup AuntyFlo - you have inspired me!
Any chance of a reposting of the Marsbar cake recipe? Pretty please?

EllanVannin Thu 19-Nov-20 11:48:33

>>>>>>>>>all dressed up and nowhere to go here hahaha. If I was lolling around in my dressing gown all and sundry would be knocking. Usually the way.
Still time for D to call before school pick-up time but then I have to whizz around Asda like a White Tornado grin I'm sure D still thinks I'm only 30.

I'm not running out of anything it's just that I like getting the bigger shops over and done with for a couple of weeks.

Marydoll Thu 19-Nov-20 12:29:00

Nannytopsy, ask and you shall receive!

MARS BAR CAKE

I tend to use supermarket own brand, much cheaper.

4 Mars bars, or packet of 5 Lidl/Aldi fake Mars bars
3oz block margarine, (must be the hard stuff)
3oz Coco Pops or Aldi/Lidl copycat.
Tbs golden syrup.

Chop the the Bars, add marge and syrup. Melt in 30 sec burst in microwave or over hot water. Beat until there are absolutely no lumps.
Add Coco pops and mix well, you made need to add a little more than the recipe, there should be no residue in the bowl.

Put into an oiled baking tray and set in fridge about 15 mins.

Meanwhile melt two bars of supermarket own brand 100g bars of chocolate I use one milk and one plain. Mix together and cover the cake. Back in fridge to set, then cut into squares.

Highly calorific, bad for your health, but a little is enough.
Think about the diet later!

If you Ctrl P with this post, you should be able to print out the recipe.

Sorry I haven’t posted for a few days. I had to have my adorable pooch put to sleep this afternoon after she collapsed on Tuesday afternoon and went off her legs, she had some sort of stroke type thing and I made the decision to put her to rest as she has so many problems, the poor baby was so miserable. I feel so sad but relieved that she is not suffering anymore, what an anxious little button she was. She was 8 or 9 years old but seemed so much older than that the last 6 months. It was only the summer when we were shooting off on my bike with her running alongside. Bless my little Sasha snd all her itches and ailments.xx❤️

Marydoll Thu 19-Nov-20 16:27:29

Scentia, I'm so sorry. You must be heartbroken. ?
