Good morning all from a much colder Glasgow, Its only 3°C. I'm not complaining, its dry!.
DS2 messaged yesterday to say that he was intending to come after work to get the items, stored in our garage, before the new Lockdown restrictions kicked in.
I know I said I was planning to rest, but I thought making him some Mars Bar cake would be stress free and stop me feeling sorry for myself.
Quite the opposite! I KNEW I had at least two multipacks of fake Mars bar in my seige supplies cupboard, but couldn't find them anywhere. I'm a very methodical person and everything has its place, but they were nowhere to be found.
Eventually after searching every cupboard twice, and those in between, there was no sign of them. Even my good at improvising brain, couldn't come up with an alternative. ?
So I decided to make piles of Christmas presents in preparation for wrapping.
You are going to think I'm mad, but my failing health has got me thinking, I may not feel well enough or not even be here to organise things ( just being realistic), so I started rummaging in my numerous hidey holes and made piles of presents for each of my children and partners.
I tend to do lots of stocking fillers. Worried that DH wouldn't have a clue what was for whom, I have put post it stickers on each pile. This was actually a very clever idea, as I have realised that I have far too much for DD, but not enough for my boys!
The crunch line is, the Mars Bars were in amongst the Christmas presents! ?
Now own up, who brought the Mars Bars upstairs and put them in the spare room? It certainly wasn't me ?
DS couldn't fit everything into his car and suggested that we bring the rest over tonight and see his new house before it becomes illegal to cross counties on Friday. We are not allowed in peoples' homes, but I think I will make a pretty good stab at looking through the windows.
What he is totally unaware of is that his sister, my comedian DD, has accessed all the beer he had stashed in our garage and she has wrapped every single can in brown parcel tape for a joke. He will not be amused. She should be afraid, very afraid of his reaction. ?
We too had difficulties with Zoom yesterday. The plan was to talk to DGD on her birthday, what a disaster initially. I tried everything to access the link DS1 had sent me, even asking for a reset password link, all to no avail.
It turned out DS, the host, hadn't actually logged in. ?
We haven't seen her physically since the day she started school in August, so we were very excited.
She was so hyper and was telling me all about school. It reminded me of DS2 who was the same due to his asthma medication. A feeling of déjàvu.
I told her I was coming into her school to take her over class, as her gran didn't want to hear about naughty children.
She thought this would be a great idea and promise to behave, but I would need to giver her cuddles if I was her teacher. ! We were exhausted at the end of it. ?
We had some sad news yesterday. The sister of DH's golfing partner died in hospital of pneumonia and was too ill to be put on a ventilator. I know her well, as she is the sister in law of my friend the Ebay queen.
My friend found her difficult to get on with, so at every family event and wedding, she would sit her next to me, as I can talk to anyone, which I think was meant to be a compliment!
HWhat is even sadder is my friend's husband thinking it was his sister calling, answered his phone, but it was her son, telling him she had only hours to live.
As she lives in Inverness, there was no way he could get there to say his goodbyes. ?
I need to get up, as I have a ham hough, which I plan to make soup with and SIL is going to come up with my medication, so he will not leave empty handed, Mars Bar cake included!
Fortunately, in anticipation of feeling ropey, I have a stash of vegetables ready prepared in the freezer, so it won't be difficult.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day. Farview, glad to see you more upbeat. Hoping today is a better day for everyone with sorrows to contend with. Corner, I hope you got your meds sorted out. A similar situation happened to me. It turned out my CD needed to be reviewed, but my GP forgot to action it and the prescription was denied. ?
Take care everyone.
