Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its also been wet overnight and a cold wind.
Today, a quiet day for me a sausage sarnie breakfast shortly and watch TV , my usual plans today are maybe a Chinese later in early evening /late afternoon.
I obtained the DVD of the Untouchables in the post a couple of days ago and plan to watch it later .
Take Care ,
Mick

I'm sorry Mick and everyone that this gentle thread has been tarnished. It has really upset me, but I do not wish to drag the GM thread down further, I should have dealt with the accusation privately.
So can we please move on?

Thanks for all the kind words. Those of you who know me, know I would never intentionally upset anyone and every coin has two sides.
Life has been very difficult for us all recently, it's kindness, support and understanding we need, nothing else. We never really know what is going on in a person's life.

Marydoll I've just read your post about family.
Which has prompted me to write on this thread at an extraordinarily late hour!
I just wanted to add my commiserations to all the others and say these family fall outs feel like a bomb going off dont they?
But lots of families get over these things, and I sincerely hope yours is one of them.
There certainly seems to be some thawing going on which is a good sign.
Look after yourself and Mr Mary too. flowers

Chewbacca Sat 21-Nov-20 19:35:35

Knowing Marydoll as I do, I know that she would never knowingly hurt anybody. I also know how all encompassing family rifts can be and how worrisome and distracting it all is. I will "fifth" dragonfly and send Marydoll my very best wishes and hopes for the future. flowers

Good afternoon Mick and everyone from a wet S Lanarkshire.

I’m very late today as I have had a rather disconcerting 24 hours. Shortly after I posted early yesterday morning from my bed I experienced the first of several really horrid ‘turns’ where I felt myself and the room spinning out of control, this led to nausea and vomiting and lasted for a couple of hours. DH rang the GP who prescribed tablets to put between my gum and cheek. I’m still abed as I can’t sit or stand without the world tilting and spinning so hoping it eases off soon.

Didn’t get out for lunch yesterday as planned. Hey Ho.

Now I’ll catch up with the thread.
Hope you’re all having a good day.

Susan56 Sat 21-Nov-20 13:49:26

I third it.Is that even a thing?

Good afternoon all. I've lost the morning to WhatsApp family chat and actual chat to my gardener. No wonder time flies past so quickly - even if it does drag a bit from minute to minute sometimes. Anyway, it's an absolutely gorgeous day here on the Angus Riviera. I have to pop for a doorstep chat with someone in the next town down the coast, and I'm looking forward to the drive. Isn't it amazing how lovely days lift our spirits, even in these uncertain times! Yesterday (grey, wet, windy, cold) I fell asleep every time my bottom touched a chair, but today there's a spring back in my step.

I haven't had a chance to read through all the posts for the past two days and I'm really beginning to suffer withdrawal symptoms - I do miss all the chat and the kindness and gentle little words of advice - so when I get back from my little coastal safari I have earmarked the time for a catch-up. Til then, lovely people, have as good a day as you can, and I'll see you later. ???

Daddima Sat 21-Nov-20 12:34:38

Afternoon all you early risers!
I was, of course up before dawn, and have already run 10 miles and wallpapered the bedroom.

I really have cleared out another one drawer, and have no plans for the rest of the day. My grandsons’ football training is cancelled, so number one son will probably appear to fix my television set to the wall. I need a bit more floor space, as my table is too heavy for me to move, so it needs a permanent position.
My thoughts are with those who are below par, and I’m really jealous of Grandmattie!
Please spend your windfall foolishly, no squirelling it away ‘ for a rainy day’. It’s a rainy day here in E. Dunbarton, so off you go! My friend had what she called ‘fun money’, and even if it was only a few pounds she said she always bought something she would never normally have spent that amount on!

Happy Saturday,all.

Was up early to a rainy N.Ireland. Carpet fitter here so I've had a busy morning clearing out living room of old carpet and furniture. Took my wee dog a walk and she had an epileptic seizure mid walk and I had to carry her the rest of the way home. Arms were sore with the preparations for carpet and then the dog carrying topped it all lol. It's dried up though and sun trying to shine. Hope everyone has a lovely day whatever you are doing and the troubles and upsets some of you have will improve for you. Take care.x

Good morning from a grey Cheshire/Welsh border ,I just wanted to say thanks to MARYDOLL for the recipe on Thursday , I made mars bar cakes yesterday and took them to some neighbours who are isolating and the verdict was unanimous they are delicious?

Doodle Sat 21-Nov-20 11:48:40

Marydoll sorry you’ve had so much to deal with. Hope things improve with your son flowers

Morning everyone...*Redhead56*..I'd just decided earlier to put the outside Christmas lights up this weekend..indoors will be December 12th as usual...but like the cheery look of outside lights
Keep safe everyone and find a little happiness in each day ?

Redhead56 Sat 21-Nov-20 11:19:20

Good morning it’s dull but dry on Merseyside this morning. Putting up the Christmas lights outside today if it stays dry. It’s early I know but the spirit of Christmas gives us something to look forward too. I went to local Asda and the newly formed Christmas aisle was nearly empty everyone else must be preparing early.
I have been watching Rick Stein long weekends again. It seems like a lifetime away when everything was ‘normal’ we could enjoy doing what we want. We would ring friends up and visit with a bottle of wine and have a laugh now we are reduced to text on WhatsApp.
It’s been a very difficult year everyone take care.

Good morning all,

I haven't read all the posts yet, just skimmed but thank you for posting the picture about the dormouse oldbutstilluseful it made me smile. I do hope the little fella was rescued quickly.

Good news about your pension Grandmattie. What a lovely surprise.

Marydoll so sorry to read of your family troubles. I hope that over time things will become easier for all of you.

It's not as cold here today, but the sky is darkening so I think it will rain before much longer. Nothing planned today other than the usual household chores. There might be an old film to watch on tv this afternoon.

I will go back and read all the posts properly now, but wanted to post mine before it got any later.

Take care ?

Blossoming Sat 21-Nov-20 11:06:21

Good morning all, awful weather here at the moment and the forecast doesn’t look good. Stay safe and warm.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 21-Nov-20 10:57:19

Good Morning all from damp Harrogate
Norsat, I too, remember Timpsons, think my first 'heels' came from Saxone?
GrandMattie you could treat us all to virtual Champagne? It would do us the world of good - Cheers!!
Gosh, I've been busy this am. first thing after waking I do my exercises, then emptied the dishwasher, had my breakfast, did some ironing and had a shower, did some housework and collapsed in my chair with my coffee!! This morning's job is making 3 crumbles.
Yesterday was interrupted with our new TV arriving. DH was not amused when I decided to watch "The Crown'. I'll maybe win him over!

Make today a good day for all, and beit pain free and worry free.

Stilllearning Sat 21-Nov-20 10:48:13

Morning from S Lanarkshire, bright but blustery here. Had to comment on your picture of the greedy dormouse Oldbutstilluseful it made me burst out laughing so thanks for the gift!
Bone on bone sounds dreadful Mellow, I hope your wait for relief isn't too long.ŷ
I didn't get to see my daughter yesterday, as she was on her way she got a phone call from her husband saying my lovely teenage grandson was sent home from school with a sore throat. She doesn't think it's Covid related but obviously didn't want to take the chance. I spoke to him later on FaceTime and he does look miserable, wee soul.
One of my other daughters is now self isolating because a colleague has tested positive. She has has had a negative test but I'm a bit anxious.
Families are our greatest joy and our greatest sorrow Marydoll, try not to stress too much about what you can't change. Time fixes or eases most family troubles and as you will know everyone has them.
Good wishes all.

Quilty Sat 21-Nov-20 10:45:34

As my name suggests.....crafting today though not quilting. Masks this morning and knitting this afternoon. What an indigent day. Love it!!

Marydoll Sat 21-Nov-20 10:38:11

Pleased to see Brunette posting again.
To stop you all speculating, I'm the poster Brunette is referring to.

In the middle of dealing with my son's mental breakdown, he terrible things he accused me of, his refusal to come to my daughter's wedding, the fallout from that , the horrendous side effects of my new medication and bad news about my own prognosis, I missed some texts from Brunette.
I apologised and tried to explain, but it wasn't enough for her.
I'm the bad guy, so there you have it.

EllanVannin Sat 21-Nov-20 10:32:50

Good Morning All x.
It doesn't know what to do outside. First thing it was beautiful with a pink streaked sky which turned bright but now it's clouded over. Not too cold though and that air earlier was like nectar as I stood on the lawn breathing it in.

I made sure I was up/awake in case of expected deliveries as with winning all the arty stuff on Ebay, it could arrive unexpectedly. A thought has just struck me that I should be used to " lockdown " at this time of year as I'm usually holed-up waiting for deliveries anyway grin Different when you're told you have to stay put though !

Crumpets and hot choc. down the hatch already and Mick has given me an idea for lunch---sausage sandwich. Tomorrow it's chicken so that can be cooked today so all I need is bread sauce mixture to which I throw in a couple of cloves for good measure just to give it flavour.

What a great windfall when you get it GrandMattie, well done. I never did get around to applying for late H's pension to be tagged on to mine, well a percentage anyway. Bit late in the day now since he died in 1994. Too much confusion going on at the time. You'd think the DWP would do it automatically.

Thoughts to Kittylester and Marydoll during family difficulties as I know only too well the strain it puts upon you xx flowers
Hope Dragonfly's week went well all things considered and a well-earned 2 day break is in order.x

Enjoy what's left of your extended stay Urmston. I used to look forward to my strolls in Torremolinos and Sunday markets in Fuengirola too.

My day will be quiet as usual but I don't mind, if I can get through this winter unscathed I'll have more than enough to be thankful for. I do need to tidy up though so I'll get cracking but not without sending thoughts to everyone including our Gilly.xx

Enjoy your day and stay safe and well.
