Hello All
I'm often awake in the small hours,
for a variety of reasons which I'm sure that many are familiar with.
So I'm starting this thread for anyone in the same position.
We can chat, share our 3am worries, whatever.
If you fancy popping on for whatever reason, here is the thread for all Night Owls moon
See you later x

I caught the end of it last night and must watch all of it. It looked fascinating.

Morning Night Owls. Was up at 8.30. Parcels are still here. I’m so tired I can’t open my eyes fully, so I think I’ll have a nap in a while ?

MiniMoon Fri 27-Nov-20 13:10:41

Well, night owls, I did manage to get to sleep after the burping stopped but I was woken up at 04:00 by DH getting ready for his early morning job.
As always when this happens, I was awake for a couple of hours. Consequently the next time I looked at the clock it was 09:35.
Let's hope that tonight will be better.

BBbevan Fri 27-Nov-20 17:24:21

Just an update for those who wished my DiL well. It was a cyst. She had it aspirated there and then. All gone. Bloody marvellous. I might sleep tonight now. Thank you for your good wishes ladies

cornergran Fri 27-Nov-20 17:35:19

Good news Bbevan. Definitely a good night ahead.

Good morning Night Owls. Cant sleep so up drinking tea and watching a film. Need to go to bed soon as my daughter wants to move and she has viewings tommorow and I am going with her.

Rosarie Sat 28-Nov-20 03:03:48

It is now after 3am I’m thinking all the night owls are asleep and I am the only one awake !

YorkLady Sat 28-Nov-20 03:21:53

I’m awake! Went to sleep around midnight but can’t seem to get back off. First time posting in here, do I need a cup of tea or do you all have cocoa?

Greenfinch Sat 28-Nov-20 03:47:12

I am still awake Rosarie but I am more relaxed tonight as I don't have to get up at 6 am.
Welcome YorkLady.I don't have a drink usually as I find going downstairs wakes me up even more and our creaky stairs wake others in the house up. In the past I have found Twinings Sleepy tea helpful though.

rosecarmel Sat 28-Nov-20 03:53:13

Hoot- ?

YorkLady Sat 28-Nov-20 03:54:47

Have got my tea and am trying to read on my kindle but I can’t seem to concentrate. I was an avid reader but for the last few months I don’t seem to be able to manage a book a month.

BBbevan Sat 28-Nov-20 03:57:25

Well awake at 1 and still awake. DH gone to sleep in the other bedroom as he was having a snore fest. Will turn this off and try again.

YorkLady Sat 28-Nov-20 04:01:20

Greenfinch thanks for the information about sleep tea, never knew it existed! Twinings apparently have one called Snore Tea. ? probably more my type. Anyway, it’s going on my shopping list.

FannyCornforth Sat 28-Nov-20 04:30:19

'Morning All!
Yorkshire tea do a tea called Breakfast Brew, it's lovely.
But not as lovely as their Biscuit Brew, whichever I cannot recommend highly enough!
Another thing that I recommend is having a kettle in one's bedroom.
I've got a little flask with milk in and a tin of biscuits too.
I've even been known to have a pot noodle in bed! blush

FannyCornforth Sat 28-Nov-20 04:32:44

MrC and I have separate bedrooms, it goes without saying!
But he does benefit from the mini kitchen too.
In fact, I'm going to make a hot chocolate now. smilebrewmoon

I would so love a cup of tea but dgs staying overnight and I don't want to wake him.

Coolgran65 Sat 28-Nov-20 05:17:18

I am up. As usual.
I've had an hour's sleep and been up for the last hour. It's around 5am and will.probably be another hour before I get back to bed. I have had restless legs syndrome RLS for over 30 years and also insomnia. A recent sleep test showed I also have sleep apnea and hope to get a cpap machine in the next few weeks.
I have been walking about because of My RLS trying to walk off th horrible creeping sensations and will then have a bowl of cereal before going back to bed.

Wish I could just even sit down.
Might just have some cereal while I am walking about. ?
This is my pattern every night and usually total about 4 hours sleep.

mumofmadboys Sat 28-Nov-20 05:50:43

Another one supping tea in bed!

annsixty Sat 28-Nov-20 05:54:37

Wow, I have had at least 6 hours unbroken sleep.
I came to bed about 10:30, very late for me after having a glass of wine with my meal earlier on, my first for 7 weeks.
I read as usual for about an hour and the next thing, it was 5:40.
I shall have to go down now as the cat is whinging to go out and her cat flap is locked.

cornergran Sat 28-Nov-20 06:31:03

Morning Night Owls. Good for you ann. Six hours sleep for me too. I’m sorry to see so many of you posting but isn’t it good to have this space to come and chat? Rest if you need to today.

Greenfinch Sat 28-Nov-20 07:27:50

CoolgranI have a CPAP machine and it really does help to get me off to sleep but then I wake up after a few hours and can't get back to sleep with it on. I think that my body is finding it hard to get used to a better quality of sleep if that makes sense. The Sleep nurse told me she didn't know how someone with such a poor quality of sleep managed to function! I am sure you will find it helpful whenyou get used to it.

I’m a night owl only when nature calls nightowl that could be as often as 2-3 times a night. However if my dh hears the clicking of my nimble fingers on my iPad he’ll get angry saying put that down! I’ve since learned to remove the clicking sound off my iPad hee hee he’ll not hear me clicking any more where there’s a will there’s a way.wink
