Hello All
I'm often awake in the small hours,
for a variety of reasons which I'm sure that many are familiar with.
So I'm starting this thread for anyone in the same position.
We can chat, share our 3am worries, whatever.
If you fancy popping on for whatever reason, here is the thread for all Night Owls moon
See you later x

'morning everyone!
It appears that most people (including myself) slept well.
Rufus you are more than welcome to come here and discuss your lunch and other matters! Be aware, though, that we find it difficult to sustain any prolonged topic tchwink
Mollygo phorpain? That's an amusingly literal name! I hope that it lived up to it.
nannan I don't think having your own room in unusual at all.
DH and I do. I wouldn't wish sharing a bed with me on anyone - poor DH wouldn't get any sleep at all.
I'm forever messing with my phone / kindle / echo / putting on the kettle / rummaging about with medication etc etc. And then there's the dog to factor in! tchgrin
Hope that everyone has a relaxing and peaceful Sunday.

Morning Fanny! Yep....... I've had an unusually long sleep. No accounting for it whatsoever. However.......hallelujah!

Marilla Sun 13-Dec-20 09:06:01

Morning! Another owl here who has slept for a few more hours through the night.

Fanny, like you, my ability to walk further than than the garden gate is a challenge. How do you cope? I am so frustrated at not being able to get out there and go for a decent walk away from my home.

Mollygo Sun 13-Dec-20 09:21:43

Glad more of us slept better.
Yes Fanny I thought the doc was joking till I saw the box. I think it was named by someone with a sense of humour.

lemsip Sun 13-Dec-20 09:37:37

looked up Phorpain and see that it is Ibuprofen which I can't have unfortunately.

Rufus2 Sun 13-Dec-20 10:32:05

Be aware, though, that we find it difficult to sustain any prolonged topic
Fanny No worries! Only too happy to prolong a topic even if it puts you all to sleep before I've finished .
Isn't that the purpose of your thread! tchconfused
Chish and Fips today for lunch plus Dim Sim and potato cake! Lovely!
OoRoo tchgrin

Marilla I think that it probably helps that I have hermit tendencies.
I was agoraphobic in my late 20s; it's probably going to be difficult when I have to go out, but that's another story.
I was going to hire a wheelchair so that we could walk the dog together
( we have lovely parks and woodlands nearby) but DH will not be strong enough to do that for a while.
How do you cope?

Rufus no! The intention of the thread was to chat, not to send each other to sleep!
But if that's a consequence, then so be it...

Mollygo Sun 13-Dec-20 14:58:18

Lemsip sorry you can’t use Ibuprofen gel. I asked for Voltarol, 2.32% (diclofenac) because that has worked previously but the doc said he couldn’t prescribe that any more. I was buying Voltarol over the counter but it was costing a fortune so he suggested the Phorpain. I’m hopeful it works as well.

Taichinan Mon 14-Dec-20 01:19:40

Hello Night Owls. I'm "night owling" with a vengeance as I am not in the least sleepy. I've had a week of good sleep, so I suppose this is the change back to sleeplessness - I never manage to sustain a decent sleep pattern. Do what to do? I may as well start on tomorrow morning's chores - although I draw the line at going out to post the Chtlristmas cards! I'll pop back in in a little while to see if there are any more wide-awakers.

Mollygo Mon 14-Dec-20 02:10:49

I’m awake, but hopefully not for log. DH set his alarm for 6am, except it went off at 2am. He should have gone to Specsavers! Hope you have managed to doze off.

Kim19 Mon 14-Dec-20 02:20:24

Hello all...... Any Strictly fans around?

Mollygo Mon 14-Dec-20 02:24:07

Do you think it was the right decision?

Marmight Mon 14-Dec-20 02:27:50

Taichinan. Like you, I’ve had a week of reasonable sleep but here I am, back again. Too much to hope that it would continue. Ive been catching up on The Crown. I know, it’s not a good idea but what else is there to do. ..... I’m not a Strictly follower Kim. Sorry!

Rufus2 Mon 14-Dec-20 02:41:57

you are more than welcome to come here and discuss your lunch

OK! It's now 1.30pm and lunch is served!

Perchance to dream on the sun-lounger! tchhmm
OoRoo

Kim19 Mon 14-Dec-20 03:07:07

Mollygo, wasn't the result I wanted but maybe it was 'right'. Rufus, your lunch doesn't do a thing for me but, boy, the thought of being on a sun lounger sure does. Enjoy!

Georgesgran Mon 14-Dec-20 03:22:54

Had done a very long post - wallowing in self pity. Just as well I lost it!
Hope everyone is warm and settled for the night. X

Pouring with rain here (Surrey/Hants border) - waiting for "big" Sainsbury's to open at 7. Zzzzzzzzzz.
Usually love Strictly, but it just doesn't feel right doing it this year sad.

Greenfinch Mon 14-Dec-20 04:32:38

Pouring with rain here too(Berkshire).Been awake since 2 and need to be up at 6 so not much hope of more sleep. A visit to the local tip is my highlight today!

BlueBelle Mon 14-Dec-20 05:05:32

Morning all
I ve been lying thinking I may go back to sleep for the last hour or so but I ve given up now, so playing some games and looking in on GN
Hope you’re all well

Kim19 Mon 14-Dec-20 05:12:02

I've been playing games too, B. Not enough success! My 'highlight' of the day will be to contact a plumber. Yesterday's was that I at last managed to work the new TV. Only took three days!

Sugarpufffairy Mon 14-Dec-20 05:13:20

Hi I didnt know about this thread. I am a chronic insomniac

Nana3 Mon 14-Dec-20 05:25:35

Morning everyone, pouring down in Lancashire too.
I don't watch Strictly but know plenty of people who do.

Greenfinch Mon 14-Dec-20 06:27:28

Had to get up now but nice to read your posts. I used to like Strictly but find I know fewer and fewer of the participants and just can't get into it.

Mollygo Mon 14-Dec-20 06:46:44

Greenfinch like you I know fewer and fewer of the ‘celebrities’ and I thought this year was an omnishambles at the beginning. We used to dance a lot and DH likes Strictly so we’ve followed it. I can’t get my head round the appropriateness having a judge who is the sister of one of the contestants.
Still, it’s been something sparkly to watch on Saturday.

Soozikinzi Mon 14-Dec-20 07:43:55

I’m a strictly fan and I really liked Ranvir and thought they just had a bad week. I also wanted to recommend the Borrowbox app which is free and links to your local library so you can borrow s audiobooks and ebooks for free on there . You can set it to go off in so many minutes to sleep. I’ve just reserved an Anne Tyler book after reading recommendations on here . For crime writing I really like Jodi Picoult. Hope that’s useful to someone out there !
