It sounds as though your H has, due to the drugs.
I suppose as long as he does though you will be content, however try to get sleep when you can, do not let yourself get run down and get help if you can.

Poor MrD. He will be in a lot of pain. I remember when MrC was hospitalised with his ribs. It was just over 20 years ago. I think that he broke three. He fell down a hole at work. (He was a builder, doing ground work at the time). He actually drove himself home even though he was nearly passing out...
I've got so many husband/hospital stories! Perhaps we could have a thread...
It's so odd knocking about the house without them isn't it.

Yes, I am up around now a lot, probably a lot less than I used to be. I seem to have two sleeps, with a period of medication, ovaltine, and late night radio in between the two.
Yesterday was fine, thank you, no different to any other day really. As long as DH is okay and I can muddle along I'm not fussed really! I'm very low maintenance these days

I have been asleep.
After DH came home, he sat for a while in the armchair and then had a little to eat before he decided he wanted to go to bed. It takes a while for him to walk from the lounge to the bedroom with his walking frame (lucky we live in a flat) and when he got into bed he fell asleep in an instant. I didn’t realise I had to wake him up to give him his meds so when he eventually woke himself he was in pain. I have now dosed him sufficiently and think he has already dropped off again.
He is very weary and slow. It will take a while to build him up again. It’s amazing what a difference 10 days in hospital can make to someone’s appearance.
I hope you are ok and enjoyed your Christmas. Hope your DGD is feeling a bit better. ?

Sorry your DH broke his ribs too. I think, like your DH, mine didn’t feel so bad to begin with. He was able to get up and walk around. It was only after an hour or so that the pain really set in.
Yes my DH has had many ops and spells in hospital too.
Nice idea to have a thread for those awake at night.

All the other Owls must have gone into hibernation, or else they've all sampled Kim's vegetable "hotch potch" in which case their respective GPs have probably ordered them to spend the day under their Doonas.
I'm disappointed because it's now raining, but the temp is 31C so I guess we can't really complain.

Rain has stopped thank goodness, at least I'm in my own bed unlike some who have floods.

We have dreadful floods around my area I m lucky it’s not affected me or anyone belonging to me but I can’t believe the authorities dont seem to be helping

Perhaps it's a case of BYO bags and DIY at the beach if the storms have'nt washed all the sand out to sea.

My heart goes out to those who are affected by flooding.
It must be hellish.

Despite the storm and floods being predicted for a few days, local authorities seem to be taken by surprise with the rivers rising and homes close by being flooded.

People must feel quite abandoned by their local councils who can’t even organise sandbags to be made available to help alleviate the water coming into properties and businesses.

Hello everyone. Not sure why I am awake. Marilla I know you are nearby - we have had homes flooded in our village.

Woke about half an hour ago, thought I’d drop in and see how the Night Owls are doing. It’s quiet outside tonight, strangely the wild weather last night didn’t keep me awake. We’ve been lucky so far, no local flood warnings other than tidal which come regularly.

Flooding causes such misery. I agree with marilla the lack of resources reported by some is appalling. I can only hope this impacts the minority and we simply don’t hear about better managed areas.

Off to make a cuppa now. There will be a pot of de caffeinated tea if anyone fancies one. I’m hoping I’ll get back to sleep after that. We’ve set ourselves a technical challenge, yet another thing to set up via the computer. We should procrastinate no longer. It’s unlikely excitement has woken me, more likely fear .

Hello Fanny! Yes, I had a lovely day with family. Just wonderful. Don't say too much about it on here though as it seems to be regarded as a criminal offence. Not big on controversy. Like everything else there's Shiraz and Shiraz. I"m certainly no expert but the odd glass can certainly hit the spot.

How do I find the thread in the night, FC ? It would be nice just to know that there’s someone out there ?
