Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, dry and cold here in Brackley this morning.
Early evening late afternoon I walked across to get my usual Saturday Chinese Take Away ,and saw the towns Xmas display, was switched on.
Yesterday, I also received my first xmas card, which will prompt me to get my list ready and start , I have a niece in Canada and she will be my first one, as I will have to use post office to weigh etc before sent .
Take Care,
Mick

Gingster I love the Christmas light switch on in your High Street, have been often. I think the one in T village will be cancelled our GS will be so disappointed as the Super Hero League are always there, they are so authentic and brilliant with the children (young and old) ?

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a very cold frosty start to the day. I’ve not had a longish walk for a few days so hopefully today we’ll get wrapped up warm and get out and about somewhere. I always enjoy it when we make the effort to go out
Today I should have been down in Cambridge to celebrate my DGS 6th birthday, but of course we had to cancel that. It’s the first time I’ve not been with him for his birthday. DD1 has made him a lovely Spider-Man chocolate cake so hopefully I’ll get a little video of him blowing out his candles later. We’ve also decided not to take the risk of travelling to see them all at Christmas so it’ll be a while until we get together again... but something definitely to look forward to in the spring!
Hope everyone has a good day today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Sun 29-Nov-20 08:27:34

Yes GG it’s a shame the Xmas festivities can’t go ahead. I didn’t know they had one in The Village.

Happy birthday Mr Dragonfly and keep your chin up *Mrs Df) . You’re battling on and will get there, I’m sure. ?

Good morning all, clear and chilly in S Hants. DH tiled most of the kitchen that needs doing yesterday, to be finished today, looks great. His football team won yesterday, hope mine does today. All Christmas presents now bought, I’m not wrapping until the tree is up, it’s being delivered Friday and will live outside for a couple of weeks.
Have a gentle day all, dragonfly46 ?

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester.
Another quiet day. This is the new normal. I am beginning to wear a dip into this couch cushion.
The ironing pile has grown again so I must get off my behind to tackle it.
Roast lamb with a nice bottle of red tonight.

brook2704 Sun 29-Nov-20 08:42:52

Happy Birthday to your DH Dragonfly and hoping you feel a bit brighter soon ?❤️

Stilllearning Sun 29-Nov-20 08:45:01

Morning from my bit of S Lanarkshire where there’s a heavy frost and a clearing sky. Tree coming down from the loft today courtesy of policewoman daughter who is standing no ‘I can’t be bothered, there will be nobody in the house’ nonsense’
I expect I’ll be glad when it’s done. Made me do a much needed tidy yesterday!
Back to online church here, our priest is self isolating after being contacted by the test and trace people, he has tested negative thankfully but it has given me pause for thought.
Good wishes to everyone ( you too in Australia!) and to Grammaretto

Grey and still this morning with another day with no focus apart from virtual church service which DH struggles with. Am impressed with all those cards written already and will print off the labels as a prompt to get started. I am always saddened by the diminishing list and think of those now missing from it. One of the inevitable features of getting old, I suppose.

Half shoulder of lamb this evening, which means hot pot tomorrow, one of DH’s favourites. Best finish my tea and think about getting DH up and sorted out. Hope everyone has the best day possible in the circumstances.

Birthday wishes for your husband dragonfly, hoping for the best day it can be with some some smiles for you both.

Marydoll Sun 29-Nov-20 08:58:59

Good morning all from a frosty and foggy Glasgow.

Sending my deepest condolences to Grammaretto, on the death of her dear husband. Having met her a few times, it has quite upset me.
She has thanked everyone on GN for their advice and kindness recently.

I'm late posting today, after a disturbed night, so a gentle day today. I haven't the energy to be disobedient anyway!
Nortsat, hoping you find some improvement as the day goes on.

Yesterday, I heard something coming through the letterbox. It was a bar of tablet, posted through the door by my friend, the Ebay queen. Later, when I was lying down I heard DH talking to someone. It was my other lovely friend with a bar of chocolate and two tins of condensed milk, ( difficult to find)
My friends across the road had noted that I was conspicuous by my absence, so decided that I must be under the weather and needed a treat
I am very blessed to have such good friends.

Take care all and have the best day you can.

Good morning all you early birds. And thank goodness for you. I wonder how far into the day I would have got without you before realising it is actually Sunday. So thank you Mick because I was certain it was Monday! Not that it makes any difference. Anyway the sun has risen and the sky is almost cloudless again over the Angus coast so a bonny day to look forward to - whatever it's called.

My main thing today is to video a quick birthday greeting for my great-niece's 40th birthday. She would have had a big celebration but instead her DH is putting together a video of greetings from all over the world. They know so many people that it will be feature film length when completed! I loathe myself on selfies so a bit of titivating is called for.

Dragonfly ?. A bit of pampering for you. You've done so well.

Quite a few on here seem to be "feeling our age" today. With me, it's loss of stamina that catches me out. I always enjoyed a big job, rather than small day to day tasks, but now after the first hour or so I have to sit down for a rest and after that the work time gets shorter and the rests get longer. I know, better by far than pain - but it is frustrating. Strange thing is at nearly 80 I can still do four tai chi classes in a morning! (Covid permitting).

What a lovely homecoming that was Urms and what a gem your DD is. But that flight must have been horrendous. Let's hope masks did their stuff and there are no unwanted repercussions.

I'm so glad your little GDD likes her knickers and trousers Grandmattie and her "pamper box* too. She's a dear, brave little soul.

Now I must get up and end this Sunday long lie - although now I know it is actually Sunday it doesn't seem so decadent! Rest as much as you can, all of you who need it and I hope the sun shines on everybody. Have a good day ???

Beechnut Sun 29-Nov-20 09:27:38

I am sorry to hear you sad news Grammaretto ?

Marydoll Sun 29-Nov-20 09:30:02

Dragonfly for you.

Grandmabatty Sun 29-Nov-20 09:38:19

Good morning All from a frosty Polmont. First of all Grammarretto my condolences to you and your family. I will be thinking of you today. My church is having a service of remembrance this afternoon to remember all those who have died this year. It will be on their YouTube channel so I will watch, chiefly because of my best friend who lost her mum earlier this year. A roast chicken crown for me for later and some pottering. I hope you all have a good day.

Gelisajams Sun 29-Nov-20 09:38:55

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is is a typical November day. Ted Hughes’? Poem comes to mind....no proper time of day.
I wasn’t going to post this morning as I have nothing really to say, but on reading Marydoll’s post I thought I would and send condolences to Grammaretto ?
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Marydoll Sun 29-Nov-20 09:41:54

Gelisajams, just post a Good morning, even if you feel you have no news.

Good Morning from another dull and grey day here in the Black Country.

Had a video call from my brother and his wife yesterday, to discuss Christmas plans. The best we could come up with was hopefully to meet up outside (weather permitting) one day for a walk. He surprise me by announcing he is on the vaccination trial. Obviously he may just be having the placebo. Not sure I could do it, so I am immensely proud of him.

Kitty I have everything crossed for your roof!

My sincerest condolences to Grammaretto so sorry to hear this flowers
