Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, dry and cold here in Brackley this morning.
Early evening late afternoon I walked across to get my usual Saturday Chinese Take Away ,and saw the towns Xmas display, was switched on.
Yesterday, I also received my first xmas card, which will prompt me to get my list ready and start , I have a niece in Canada and she will be my first one, as I will have to use post office to weigh etc before sent .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a dry and slightly misty South Manchester. Day 2 of isolation here in Urmston Towers. Why is it that when I can’t go out for a walk I’d really like to? No garden to sit in either. Hey ho.

Himself will be watching Man. Utd and the Grand Prix. I can’t stand the noise so will sit on our bed and close the door. Actually I’d forgotten I’d been given an Alexa for Christmas last year and I think I’ll plug it in there for some of my music choices. I shall also watch some television or catch up programme today.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling low today dragonfly and that you’re not feeling well harrigran. I hope you both feel a little better as the day goes on.

Fried bacon on wholemeal toast soon for breakfast. A real treat with hot coffee.

I shall ring my Spanish neighbour and friend after that. She is struggling I can tell and yesterday’s telephone calls cheered her and reassured her. It means so much to her right now it’s the least I can do. Anxiety is horrible isn’t it? It pulls you down and is utterly exhausting. It’s not living, it’s existing.

On a cheerier note my phone went yesterday and a little voice said ‘Guess what grandma? We bought our Christmas tree this afternoon and we are all putting the things on it. It’s my turn this year to put the star on the top’.
?

Hope Sunday is kind to us all today. I have a feeling there are a few with wobbles amongst us. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning to all from DD's in a dull East Northants. DSon-in-law has just taken the dogs out for their morning walk, and DD has put some sausages in the oven for our breakfast. I slept till 9am this morning, which is brilliant for me. Am now just sitting with a large mug of tea, with my tablets lined up in front of me!

Had a lovely Chinese last night, my treat for them putting up with me every weekend! DSon-in-law and I always have the same - chicken curry, rice and chips! DD was more adventurous, and had crispy beef in kung-po sauce. Sadly our rugby team lost yesterday, but England beat Wales, so swings and roundabouts.

I must have missed the post about Grammaretto's sad loss, so am sending my condolences now. I know she will find plenty of support on here.

Nothing much planned for today, breakfast, then start my new Agatha Christie, and home this afternoon. Will get ready for a week of baking as I have mince pies and sausage rolls requested by the family! And have also promised DD a lemon drizzle cake.

Grandmadougal Sun 29-Nov-20 10:12:40

Good morning from a grey overcast Norfolk.

Not much on today, beginning 3 days of isolation ready for a minor operation on Tuesday, has made me realise how hard it has been for those who had to shield for months on end, beginning to see how lucky we’ve been. Not looking forward to it but essential to get it done.

Slow cooker pulled pork today, new recipe so hoping it will be okay.

Off to find things to do to keep busy, missing gillybob hoping things have improved for her.

Keep safe everyone.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very foggy and I can’t see the house across the field behind me.
Condolences to Grammaretto flowers
Dragonfly some flowers for you too.
Nothing much on today. Just enjoying croissants and coffee and listening to the radio.
Stay safe everyone. Hope there is something in your day to make you feel cheerful.

Good morning Mick and all GN's from a cloudy but dry Preston.
Deepest sympathy to Grammaretto,it's never easy losing a loved one and covid makes everything so much harder.
I'm hoping to have a walk today with my neighbour and then a game of cards and dominoes with her this evening. Bailey's for her and G &T for me. Didn't speak to a soul yesterday but a good friend has arranged a phone call for later this afternoon.
Hope everyone has as a good a day as possible and finds something that raises a smile.

GRAMARRETTO

So sorry to hear your sad news

GrannyOwl5 Sun 29-Nov-20 10:20:48

Good morning everyone from a grey and dismal north Kent.

Sending condolences to Grammaretto and her family. ?

Will bring the Christmas lights down from the attic and put a few up outside. We usually decorate the front of the house, but DH is not very enthusiastic about going up and down ladders this year and probably not a good idea to tempt fate and end up in a heap with broken bones.

Hope those feeling down in spirits or health have a better day. ? for Dragonfly. Have a good Sunday. Stay safe

Good Morning All x.
A typical dark day of November and hanging there for the rest of the day by the look of it.
I must jiggle myself about a bit today in case I nod off as I had quite a disturbed night. I was wide awake for ages, so I got up in the end and made a cup of tea, then continued with my online buying.

I'm sorry to hear of Grammaretto's loss and send my condolences. x flowers
Dragonfly I think you're doing very well and may it continue x Birthday Wishes to Mr.D.

A couple of thick lamb chops today with my mushy peas, which I remembered to soak last night, so I'll throw some roast pots. in the oven when I do the chops at the same time.

I noticed it was 41 degrees in Sydney. One Christmas when I was there it was 43 and office workers in the city were coming out and diving straight into the harbour grin It made front page news that year. I was cooking Christmas dinner for about 12, sweating cobs and lost half a stone when I was there. Home in the New Year to packed ice !

If I can get some semblance of order here I'll get the lighted twigs out of their boxes instead of bothering with the tree. It'll be better than nothing. I don't feel very " with it " this year, but then again not many do I don't imagine.

Hope everyone has a decent sort of a day, germ-free being the main thing. Thoughts to those having a down day with hope that things improve as the day goes on. Thinking of Gilly too x.
Take care and stay safe.

Good morning all from a gloomy Stockport.
Sincerest condolences to Grammaretto you have had, and will continue to have, a very difficult time so my best wishes to you and your family.

Nothing on the cards at all today except pork chops for tea tonight, not very exciting.

Decs coming down from the loft in the next couple of days but my heart isn’t in it. I will make the effort though.

May need to get onto BG today, when I went to the loo in the night I realised the CH was on, I haven’t investigated yet as I need someone to look at the boiler controls and I can’t use a step to get up there.

Have the best day you can everyone.

hollysteers Sun 29-Nov-20 10:59:03

Good morning Mick and all from Three Bridges, Lancashire, cold and dry.
I’m so sorry you are having a tough time dragonfly, on top of your radiotherapy, you could do without all this trouble.
I’ve got an attack of the shingles on my left side, only mild and nothing compared to what many suffer, but another excuse to leave the bra off!
I realised this morning that I had left a bag of shopping in the boot after a ‘big’ shop involving lots of bags. It’s ok, but a couple of frozen items I think will be fine as it’s very cold I there. My bubbled daughter comes tomorrow and I am taking the easy way out by microwaving a couple of ready cooked lamb shanks. Last night I cooked stuffed courgettes for myself, as love marrows, aubergines etc. Seemed a fuss as I don’t cook much since my husband died.
Watched a film from 1940 with Michael Redgrave playing the poshest crane driver one could imagine ?
Thinking of those with worries.

Stilllearning Sun 29-Nov-20 11:06:07

Just checked back in and was shocked to read Marydolls post about the death of your dear husband Grammaretto. I send my sincere condolences and prayers for you and your family.

Good Morning from Grey (but dry) Harrogate. The optimist in me has put a wash on with hopes of drying outside???
Sorry you are feeling down Norsat and Dragon - just think that vaccine will be with us soon!!
I know what you mean Baubles- my Christmas card list is dwindling
Last night a Technician from KNOW-HOW (which I subscribe to) revived my ailing laptop, and found 150 MB which I didn't know it had. I am so happy, thought I was going to have to buy a new Macbook!!!
The rest of the day will be spent reading the rest of the posts here, going to 'church', exercising, walking the dog and cooking

Sorry so many are finding it rough, tomorrow will be a new day!

Condolences to Grammaretto Such a hard time. ???

Kim19 Sun 29-Nov-20 11:28:31

Haven't looked in here for a few days. Please enlighten me on Grammaretto? Could make a reasonable guesss but that would be foolish and presumptuous. She always comes over as so wise, kind and generally lovely.

Mapleleaf Sun 29-Nov-20 11:37:52

Good morning,

Another grey, dreary, damp and dark morning here in South Yorkshire. At least it's not raining yet, unlike yesterday, when it never stopped during the day.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your DH Grammaretto ?

I do hope as the day moves on you feel a little better, dragonfly and also send birthday wishes for your DH ?.

Take care everyone.

Kim19 Sun 29-Nov-20 11:39:55

Thanks M, thought that might be the sadness but obviously wouldn't presume. Oh dear.....
