I had to think hard about this. I couldn't think of anything I'm particularly good at but I remembered that, in my job, I was very good at selling. Although I graduated with a good degree in law, all my plans to be a wonderful barrister flew out the window when I married DH almost straight after graduating. He was a farmer & I immersed myself in milking cows, feeding calves, driving a tractor & bringing up 2children. Times got tougher after BSE & I needed a job so, when I saw an advert for part time work at Thomas Cook, I thought "I like holidays & people, I could do that". I was amazed to be taken on at our local branch & spent 5 happy years there. I thoroughly enjoyed selling & turned out to be surprisingly good at it, easily reaching & exceeding targets & even winning holidays as a national top performer. I moved on to a small, family run company specialising in holidays to Italy. The selling was done over the phone & I loved it, building a great rapport with many clients who booked with me year after year. It was a very rewarding job and when I left after 11 years, I stayed friends with many ex clients. So I must have the gift of the gab and more patience with others than with my own family! I'm pretty good at sewing and not a bad cook but I'm no baker!
