I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Of course she knows she has been loved Charleygirl and only you are going through the mental anguish of this awful wait- Tara has had a wonderful and loving forever home , she has been a very lucky cat.
Sleep well, little Tara ?

grannysyb Tue 05-Jan-21 09:12:55

So sorry Charley, our animals are such a large part of our lives and it's so hard to do them the last kindness, thinking of you.

Susan56 Tue 05-Jan-21 09:05:30

Thinking of you and Tara Charley.x

GrannySomerset Tue 05-Jan-21 09:02:20

Thinking with sympathy of Charley and her sad farewell to the inimitable Tara. It is such a painful experience even when it is so obviously the right thing. Everyone who has endured the death of a much loved pet will know how much it hurts.

Charleygirl5 Tue 05-Jan-21 09:00:36

Thank you all so much- the waiting for 11.30am is the worst. It will take me about 20 minutes to drive there. Such a pity there was not an earlier appointment because she has not even had any water. I hope she knows she has been well loved- the little tyke finding a second home!

Just popping in to send love to charley.

annodomini Mon 04-Jan-21 23:08:53

Charley, I'm so sad for you. Tara has been such a big part of your life - obviously a cat with a great personality. You will feel so bereft - I can vouch for that. She has had a wonderful life, a double life, what's more! What a crafty puss. We will miss your tales of Tara.?

Galen Mon 04-Jan-21 22:49:21

Charleygirl I’m sure we’ll all miss Tara and her antics. I know I will!
Sincere commiseration to you.

Grandmafrench Mon 04-Jan-21 22:47:59

Oh Charley, I'm so sad, you're so brave and little Tara is so lucky - to have had you in her life. You couldn't have been a more kindly and entertaining and loving Mummy to her little ladyship. How ironic that you should find out at last where she spent some of her time and how fortunate that they found you and you get to say a proper goodbye to your little Minx.

You have had lots of adventures together and memories to hold on to. I shall think about you tomorrow, struggling at the place where I have been on far too many occasions - saying goodbye to little souls who have given so much to me in my life. Bless you Charley and safe journey, little Tara x

Thank you so much for the update, Doodle - I do read the Lockdown thread, but haven't done so since just before Christmas. I won't join in cos I would be a fraud - still allowed the small freedoms of the streets! I guessed that the Panaches may be struggling. Give them my best, please. And if you hear from Izabella, do update us. I've not heard from her since the Marathon run - bet she's still ironing her shorts!! Meanwhile, all good wishes to Mr Doodle, in the hope he feels stronger day by day and who perhaps needs cream or custard with absolutely everything? grin

Heard the truly grim news on British tv this evening. Suppose it's not surprising but a blow nevertheless. Maybe everyone needs to take the view that the weather is usually rotten at this time of year, so staying in mightn't be such a bad plan after all. Whatever happens, it definitely won't deter the GransArmy. They're unstoppable. ? TOYA

It was actually really lovely meeting Tara's other home owners- they were so caring it has brought a smile to my face in all this sadness that they thought for years I was working full time and she was waiting there for me to come home! I retired officially in 2002 but gave up all part-time work in 2009. Some days, including today, she was so eager to get out, now I know where! No wonder she came home some days as dry as a bone after heavy rain. She is 16 but has had 14 good years here with me.

LauraNorder Mon 04-Jan-21 22:19:30

Charleygirl flowers I am so sorry.

dragonfly46 Mon 04-Jan-21 22:18:34

Charlie I am so sorry to hear about Tara. Tomorrow will be a hard day - I shall be thinking of you.

BladeAnnie Mon 04-Jan-21 22:17:13

So sorry Charleygirl for the loss of your dear feline friend. Keep those happy memories close to your heart

Hellogirl1 Mon 04-Jan-21 21:54:06

Oh Charleygirl, I`m so, so sorry to hear about Tara, I know how very much you love her, and were loved back. It is a difficult decision to make, but the correct one for Tara xx

kittylester Mon 04-Jan-21 21:20:57

Charley, I am sorry to hear about Tara. It is a hard but, ultimately, a loving decision.

Soop please ask mrsoop to look at a lifetime mortgage as well as equity release. But, living where you do, you need reliable transport.

I could let MrDoodle have my excess weight if we could sort out a method of exchange!

Lins1066 Mon 04-Jan-21 21:16:48

I'm so very very sorry Charleygirl, what a shock for you. Your sadness is shared by us all in the kitchen. It is so hard to say goodbye to a pet that is much loved, I feel for you and I will be thinking of you tomorrow flowers

brook2704 Mon 04-Jan-21 21:11:43

Sorry to hear about Tara charleygirl thinking of you at this sad time ?

Doodle Mon 04-Jan-21 20:53:23

So so sorry charleygirl. Tara deserves her rest now. She has been blessed having you look after her for so long.x

Gagagran Mon 04-Jan-21 20:44:46

You will be very sad tonight Charley and another hard day tomorrow. Poor little Tara. Wishing you happy memories of her as the sadness slowly eases - as it will. But not yet awhile.

Thinking of you and sending sympathies.

Urmstongran Mon 04-Jan-21 20:35:27

‘Evening All’ ?

So we are in lockdown until mid February. Not unexpected by any means but this will be a blow for many and a relief to some I think.

Oh soop not only your BT nuisance to deal with but now your car too. I hope you are up and running with both soon, in that your car mechanic can diagnose something eminently repairable.

Sorry to hear about your cat Charleygirl5 it’s always a great sadness to say goodby to a much loved pet. I certainly feel for you tonight.

Hopefully tonight we can all find some peace of mind and rest from our anxieties whatever they may be at present. These are such dark and worrying times for many.

‘Goodnight All’. ?

Susan56 Mon 04-Jan-21 20:12:09

Oh Charleygirl, I am so sorry. She really has been a faithful companion and we know how much you love her.Such a difficult but loving decision. We are thinking of you?

Nannytopsy Mon 04-Jan-21 19:52:23

So sorry Charleygirl. Knowing it’s time doesn’t make it any easier, does it? Now you know why she has gone AWOL at times! I don’t think our Charlie will be so very far behind her - he gets thinner every day but at least he seems happy enough so far.
Good luck for tomorrow. ?

Puzzler61 Mon 04-Jan-21 19:44:13

Such heartache for you Charleygirl.
It’s the kindest thing for Tara and although you know when it’s time to let your beloved girl go, it doesn’t make it any easier.
She’s had a lovely home with you. X.
