I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Charley I’m so very sorry. What an awful blow. She has been a wonderful companion and she’ll leave a hole in your heart. {{hugs}}.

This is a hard time for you Charleygirl and Tara will be missed in The Kitchen. You’ve been a great mum to her and she’s been a lucky little lady.

Puzzler61 Tue 05-Jan-21 10:16:40

Tara is an astute furry lady - she even found a ‘reserve’ home in addition to your 5* Hotel.
She knows she is loved Charleygirl , have no fear on that score. She has to leave you now, but will always be inside your heart. X.

I just had to come in this morning and say my thoughts are with you Charleygirl.

Lins1066 Tue 05-Jan-21 11:47:48

My love and thoughts are with you today Charleygirl, may your many happy memories of Tara sustain you. So many of us here know so well how you are feeling flowers

charley such a sad day for you. At least you know she was loved and cared for right to the end. Thank you for sharing her antics with us. We will miss her too
Take care. x

grandmafrench I will indeed pass on your best wishes to Panache. Izabella doesn’t post in the lockdown gang so not heard from her there either. I hope she is ok.
TOYA ?

I am home now, the female vet was lovely but it is a good job I am semi articulate because I had to give all of the reasons why I wanted Tara euthanased today and that took around 20 minutes. There was not an indecisive bone in my body- I had made the painful decision and I was sticking to my guns.

She had flopped on the floor and there was still talk of upping her dose, doing more investigations etc. I know the vet was doing her job but there was no indecision on my part. If I had gone for advice- fine but I was actually in a polite way giving an instruction.

In the end, it was quick and peaceful and she is now asleep. I am amazingly dry eyed although I was close to losing it in the surgery.

Thank you all so much for your kindness and forbearance.

Charleyg, many of your kitchener friends know the raw emotion of saying goodbye to a much loved animal friend. It is such a painful experience. Tara remains one of us lot. Her image hangs in the pampered pets gallery. She was loved. She will not be forgotten. flowers flowers sunshine [hugs]

Welcome ixion. smile

You did Tara proud today Charleygirl as you have done for many years. Well done, it’s a difficult day and you are getting through it.
RIP Tara.

Grandmafrench Tue 05-Jan-21 14:39:21

The end of a dreadful day, Charley. When they go, they take a small piece of your heart with them. All us lot know that.
Be kind to yourself now and be proud of the last kindness you were brave enough to show your little girl. x

Puzzler61 Tue 05-Jan-21 14:41:29

Hello to everyone else in the kitchen, it’s such a warm and friendly place. Just back from a long cold walk.
A mug of hot drinking chocolate beckons. I can make a jug-full for all who would like. ☕️

Doodle Tue 05-Jan-21 14:43:04

A difficult day charley but the right decision. We, who love them best know when the time is right. As soop says we will all have fond memories of Tara just like we do of Rory and Maw’s Grace. Take care x?

Message from Panache
Just passing on a message from Panache to Grandmafrench and all her kitchen friends. Panache is sorry not to have been in the kitchen recently but wants to thank everyone for thinking of her and she will try and visit soon.

Good news for Panache and MrP today. The Palliative care team have organised a review of MrP’s scans with the oncology team to see what they can do going forward to make him more comfortable and relieve his ongoing pain.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 05-Jan-21 15:03:50

Charleygirl thanks

cornergran Tue 05-Jan-21 15:08:38

Proud of you charley, you did your very best for Tara. flowers.

soop Tue 05-Jan-21 16:04:11

A warm welcome to Yiayia4. It is good to have your company. Settle down and one of us will possibly find cupcakesquirreled away in the larder to serve with a warming brew.

Feelingmyage55 Tue 05-Jan-21 16:05:35

charliegirl. My kindest thoughts to you. Tara was obviously a bit like the book “Six Dinner Sid”. I wonder if she had more than a double life? Your love and an extended family. Clever lady.
Yiayia4 Come in more often to chat. If you bring cake you are even more welcome. All cake in the kitchen is calorie free. Puzzler. Lovely hot chocolate thank you. I have left coffee flavoured sponge fingers on the side.

soop Tue 05-Jan-21 16:16:45

Doodle Thank you for sharing the message from Panache. She and Mr Panache are missed. I can understand that her time is fully dedicated to the loving care she continues to provide for her husband. Us lot wish for them both to receive the best support that the medical team can offer. flowers

I am about to log off for today. My thoughts are with Charleyg together with every one of you who needs extra special TLC.

Tomorrow we shall meet again. smile moon

soop Tue 05-Jan-21 16:20:59

Puzzler Thank you for the hot chocolate. I would love a large mug-full.

Isn't it funny what random thoughts pop into one's head in the middle of the night. I thought to myself - I misspelt dessert. Bread and butter desert would certainly taste awfully sandy. tchblush

Yiayia4 Tue 05-Jan-21 17:01:13

Thank you you all sound lovely. Will bring apple spice cake still warm and very nice with ice cream.
