I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Good afternoon all. I'm using my new phone for posting and struggling mightily with it. I've managed to bugger the broadband and was helped out by a lovely girl from BT who didn't make me feel stupid. However I cannot fix the sim in place no matter how I try. I'm so annoyed with myself. It's so perishing cold here today. Charliegirl you sound like a truly lovely person. Soop walking on main roads is to be avoided at any age! I'll bring goodies tomorrow for everyone. Today the phone has got me too stressed. Have a good evening all.

The numbers of Covid-19 are so high in my area of Essex that we are not venturing out at the moment, so exercising indoors. Haven’t really got my exercise mojo but needs must (waistline has expanded)

Charleygirl I expect your local CPL would be grateful of your offer.

All the decorations are down and packed away, will still light the candles in the evening for some cheer.

Keep safe kitcheners, with the vaccine being rolled out we need to hold strong and firm.

cornergran excellent news!

Susan56 Wed 06-Jan-21 18:27:18

Soop, I hope that the car can be fixed without you and Mr soop having a big bill to pay??take it easy on the bike?

Pleased your consultation went so well corner?

Charley, hope you are doing ok.I’m sure the CPL will be delighted to have your help.

DD has gone back to work today after 15 months of maternity leave.Tomorrow we start our official childcare for Henry and Matilda? We have homeschool to do with M,I have downloaded the relevant apps, hopefully she will be able to show me how to use them.

We have spent three hours this afternoon trying to find a suitable present for DH’s mum’s 90th birthday?we finally settled on a luxury Welsh afternoon tea hamper and a wall sculpture for the outside of the house and have arranged for both to be delivered on the day.It is a whole year now since we have seen them.

Right, feet up time now ready for the tiny terror and his big sister tomorrow.

Today’s Covid figures for England on the 6 o clock news are breathtaking - breathtakingly shocking. I felt close to tears and also so ??? at scenes of demonstrators in Parliament Square claiming that lockdown affected their human rights.
Tell that to the patients struggling for breath and to the exhausted NHS staff saving our lives.
Sorry to bring in a sour note - keep safe Kitcheners!

Charleygirl5 Wed 06-Jan-21 18:43:51

Maw I was really concerned learning that Hattie had walked for 50 minutes today-that poor mite- if she would like a good rest here, and she certainly will not be taken on 50 minute walks, she is more than welcome. That poor animal must be exhausted.

I have done zilch today- this house needs to be cleaned. I should really have something to eat but I will think about it. A bowl of cereal will be fine I think + the inevitable coffee.

Thank you everybody again for being so kind-

MawBe Wed 06-Jan-21 19:07:25

She is indeed zorsted Charleygirl but don’t fool yourself it was anything like a brisk walk - more of a gentle amble and sniffari as is her way.
Does next to nothing for my fitness levels (or weight!)

Charleygirl5 Wed 06-Jan-21 19:17:10

She is just gorgeous- dog napping is not part of my repertoire but she would be top of the list. I hope she enjoys her well-earned rest.

Is she the type of dog, one kind word and a pat and she would go off with anybody?

MawBe Wed 06-Jan-21 19:40:11

Totally!

Yiayia4 Wed 06-Jan-21 21:22:42

Good evening to you all.No cake today but plenty of dark ginger chocolate.
All decorations are down but the naughty elves missed the flight back to the North Pole, my youngest GS is very pleased as he may get to see them before next Christmas!!
Sleep well and stay safe everyone.

Hellogirl1 Wed 06-Jan-21 21:39:46

I`m here for sympathy and commiserations please. Mylong running settee saga continues. It was re-delivered today after being split in order to get it in the house, it will copst me £200 to have it rebuilt.
When the van arrived I met them at the door and asked how many pieces it was in. Was told 2, but he said in his opinion it had been cut wrong, straight down the middle, whereas he thought the back should have been taken off. They brought the first half in, but it wouldn`t fit through the door into here, so it has gone back, yet again, to be cut again, and I have to await ANOTHER delivery date!

‘Evening All’ ?

Thank you so much Doodle, MawBe and ... (sorry my brain has gone since I read earlier posts - not good) about being one of you lot. Definitely best seats in the house MawBe.

I felt a bit wobbly last night. For whatever reason. It doesn’t take much some days does it?

Joyful day minding the grandchildren & we took them to the park this afternoon. It was sunny & warm in our coats. The children were on their bikes and the park was busy, walkers, dog owners and skateboarders.

Tomorrow they both start back at school as given places owing to being children of key workers. We are not going to see them now for any childcare until the numbers go right down - they will be mixing at school and we intend to be super cautious - unless it’s out in the fresh air with our daughter and son in law, a coffee & walk around the park.

We got home then took our Christmas tree & decorations down. I’m shattered now, it’s been a long day!

No need to set the alarm for 6:30am tomorrow ... ?

Hope everyone who can enjoys a relaxing and peaceful evening. Anxiety is so draining.

‘Goodnight All’.

It was *soop* of COURSE ‼️?

Hellogirl1 Wed 06-Jan-21 21:44:49

This is the settee in question, does it look abnormally large to other Gnetters? It didn`t to me in the store.

Nannytopsy Thu 07-Jan-21 01:04:17

It’s the middle of the night so is it good evening or good morning? ?
It looks as if we shall be doing quite a bit of childcare/homeschooling so today I have started planning two science projects and one geography! Got to keep it cross-curricular, differentiated and above all fun! Like every teacher I know, a new “term” means sleepless nights beforehand. And this is for two grandchildren! How did I ever cope with 30?!
About two hours into lockdown, the battery went in my watch. Sent down the longest river for a new watch!
The last of the Christmas goodies, a rather fine Panettone, is on the table. I like it toasted for breakfast.
Sleep tight

Hellogirl I do not think some houses were built to have any furniture. Many years ago the people in the rented, unfurnished house next door ended up gatting furniture brought in my side gate and over the small fence to their garden so it could fit through the patio doors.

That sofa looks comfortable but high at the back. It looks beautiful.

Nannytopsy at least you have half an idea of what you are doing- many do not, especially in my neck of the woods where English is a second language. I do feel sorry for the children because they will receive little help from their parents.

It will be a few months before I will feel like taking in any foster cats. I have had 3 cats adopted from them previously, Tara being the last but I still will need a police check-because I will be on my own with the animal!

Still, seeing the nonsense to be a local vaccinator-I needed to produce my CV and lifting and handling certificates. I retired in 2002 so no CV and my job did not entail lifting and handling- I was not in uniform for starters so amazingly I gave up because I could not really be bothered.

NanaandGrampy Thu 07-Jan-21 11:43:28

Afternoon all !!

I'm sorry I have been missing in action. We have decided to take down the Blackpool illuminations otherwise known as our Christmas decorations and lights and I hate it !! Its dull at the best of times but down its just a symbol of a missed Christmas ! Bah humbug!!

Charleygirl , I am so sorry to hear about Tara. What a huge loss for you. I know you will miss her so much. I'm sure you have a great deal of fond memories of her. Sending you a big hug.

Soop its one buggeration after another isn't it? I'm sure MrSoop has it all under control so don't worry too much x

I am back to solitary confinement ( with Grampy and Sam of course !!) , this time it seems so much more confining , the weather isn't helping of course.

To everyone else sending best wishes.

soop Thu 07-Jan-21 13:42:35

A sunny good afternoon dear peeps. It is very much milder today. Fern has gone on a walkabout. I am up and down like a yo-yo as I would hate her to wait too long for the attention she deserves. wink

No update from the garage. No further calls from BT. Perhaps, as promised, we shall be reconnected to the internet tomorrow. I am almost past caring.

Our great granddaughter, Mila Johanna, is three today. We've only met her twice. It's difficult imagine a time when we can all be together and behave as families do.

Maw I agree with Charleyg - Our Hattie appears to be stressed shock. I do believe that she deserves to spend an afternoon with us lot in order to recharge her batteries.

Nannytopsy You are a five star Nanny. flowers

Hellogirl1 I like your new sofa. I am so sorry that you having to go through these buggerations.
We ordered our sofa long ago. It would not go through the door. The delivery men remembered seeing a glazier fitting someone's window. He asked the glazier to call on us. The window was duly removed and the sofa came in through it in two pieces. hmm

Hellogirl1 Thu 07-Jan-21 16:11:30

I`ve had a call today. They are redelivering next Thursday, and hoping to have the upholsterer on Friday.

soop Thu 07-Jan-21 16:38:07

Hellogirl1 Patience is a virtue. Or so it is said.

Maw A quick ride on the exercise bike and then I am going to loll in the chair with a brew. You have inspired me.

Fern is still gadding about. I'm anxious. She will turn up, stare at me (prettily) through the window and all will be forgiven. Cats! hmm

Until we meet again tomorrow TOYA. smile moon

MawBe Thu 07-Jan-21 16:51:23

Poor Hattie had an hour’s walkie today! And jolly cold it was too!
Felt entirely justified settling down with a Val McDermid afterwards!

brook2704 Thu 07-Jan-21 17:02:27

Just popping into the kitchen to say hello and to warm my toes by the fire as it’s snowing again outside ⛄️
Hope Hattie isn’t too exhausted and has settled down now after her walk maw and you’re enjoying your book.
Hopefully your lovely new sofa will actually make it inside next week hellogirl and you can relax on it soon
Wishing Mila a very happy 3rd Birthday soop what a lovely age to be!

kittylester Thu 07-Jan-21 17:45:41

I'm just popping in to check everyone is ok.

Nice to see N&G. We took our lights down too - isn't it boring?

You will really appreciate your sofa callgirl.

Sounds like a good walk maw. I went to Sainsbury's which was fairly empty of both stuff and people. I have to say that it makes me panic when I see bare shelves and am tempted to buy things just to be on the safe side.

I can hardly believe that Mila is 3, soop! What is happening with your car?

‘Evening All’

I’m a very happy bunny this evening. I’ve been waiting anxiously for just over a week for the results of some blood tests and they have all come back as negative or ‘in the normal range’. It was such a relief when I was told I felt quite emotional. I have health anxiety and am such a worrier at the best of times.

I hope you all have a good evening too. You can’t buy peace of mind can you?

‘Goodnight All’.

Doodle Thu 07-Jan-21 20:33:53

Urms so pleased at your news. Must have been a relief. You can breathe again now,
Corner good news about your knee.
Hope everyone is doing ok.
