Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and looks cold and damp here in Brackley .
Today, general shop either Brackley or Bicester as yet undecided .
I did not go to Bicester yesterday , staying in most of the day, as waited for my Parsley Box delivery, with a few Christmas food items in it , just to keep me going over the period .
I also chatted to my friend on the phone in the evening as I had sent her a card without he street address on ,she had just received it , we talked about things on the phone.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s dark and raining. It’s the final day of our quarantine.

Greyduster I think I’m going to join you seeing my GP today. 4 weeks now with intermittent neck/jaw/earache. I kind of thought it had gone but if I’m honest I think the ibuprofen and paracetamol mask it. The GP did say last Wednesday if it had t cleared up by today she was happy to see me on my last day of quarantine.

I’m anxious. I keep persuading myself it’s getting better but we know our bodies don’t we? I shall have to bite the bullet and ring for that appointment.

Sorry to hear you’re low today Scentia I hope having your grandson over cheers you. Great news about Iris grandMattie what a difference a few days can make eh?

Hope Friday is kind to us all. Still missing our Friday Girl gillybob. So very sad you’re obviously in a bad place whatever the reason. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Marydoll Fri 11-Dec-20 08:10:14

Grammaretto, what sad news about your FIL. You have had such a difficult time recently. ?
Your poor MIL must be distraught and feeling helpless.
Urmston, I hope your GP will be able to sort you out.

Alygran Fri 11-Dec-20 08:13:37

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it looks a bit grey and misty.
So pleased to hear such positive news from grandMattie. I am full of admiration for your sewing skills.
I am going food shopping this morning. DD2 is coming for the weekend so will be indulging in some foodie treats. Christmas tree decorating later.
Thinking of everyone who is struggling today.
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

Good morning from damp Leicestershire.
I know it is damp because I take daily tablets which make my muscles ache and it is worse when it is damp.

The engineer sorted our Broadband out by reinstalling the old router! When I rang Sky to tell them she told me we were paying far too much and reduced our bill by £30 a month.
The plumber came and put our bathroom back together too. Good thing we have plenty of space!

So sorry to hear about your FiL Grammaretto. It is a sad time for you.

Wonderful news about Iris GrandMattie.

Hope you get your roof fixed soon kitty I hate water in the house and we seem to have had quite a bit of it recently. We still have another leak to find and sort out.

Gingster Fri 11-Dec-20 08:17:13

Good morning and it’s wet and dark here in Essex.

I had a great session at my art group yesterday . Only 6 of us and 2 teachers. It was a one off and we don’t know when we’ll be back, but it was lovely seeing old faces again.

Ashcombe your windows look such fun. Well done!

Scentia it certainly isn’t like you ! You’re usually ‘up and at em’ walking, cycling and always doing. Here’s hoping your meds will give you some relief, and of course you’re missing your little dog but DGS will brighten your day. ?

Granmattie brilliant news of little IRIS. Bless her heart ♥️

DH and I are also eating more than we should. Too much lovely food around and too much time in our hands ??. Roll on Spring when we can get out more and bring on the salads ??.

We had a Xmas card yesterday from An old friend. Just her name on it and a short message saying her husband had died from Covid this year. He was an old colleague of DH and he liked him very much. ?

Wishing you all a pleasant day ??

Greyduster Fri 11-Dec-20 08:21:07

Sorry to hear that Urms. I hope you get some relief from it. I’m not in pain but I can imagine how miserable that would be.?

Sar53 Fri 11-Dec-20 08:21:37

Good morning from a very wet Essex by the sea.
Lovely news about Iris, I'm so pleased she has perked up ?.
I'm off to town this morning to pick up a trial pair of contacts, one eye distance, one eye close up. I will give it a go.
I had an unexpected facetime call with DGD2 yesterday, she had a questionnaire to fill in for Technology homework. It was lovely to see her smiling face and that of her two younger sisters.
DGD1 has her last day of school today as the school have decided to shut early as a teacher has Covid. They will distance learn next week.
Take care everyone, keep smiling and stay safe ??? xx

farview Fri 11-Dec-20 08:25:08

Morning Mick and all...upsetting to read of so many of you with pain.
Think that speeding towards this very strange Christmas is making everyone's troubles much worse!
Hope that Mellowyellow is okay...and of course *gillybob!?
Dark and heavy rain here yuk!
Tweaked my diet a week ago...constant bad tummy and fatigue..I eat lots of bread and wondered if that were the culprit..swapped to sourdough bread and cannot believe the difference, feel heaps better, eyes shiny, skin improved..tummy back to normal!
Got a 'nothing ' day today..unusually..so maybe do some serious housework..maybe haha!
Look after yourselves...?

Grammaretto Fri 11-Dec-20 08:25:20

Just popped back to say how pleased I am that Iris is on the mend. You are a clever DGM grandMatte all that special sewing.

Gelisajams Fri 11-Dec-20 08:32:33

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where outside looks most uninviting. Murky and damp. A quiet day today finishing off bits and bats. Maybe a walk if it dries up. I want to see what’s going on with our closed canal so I will peep through the barriers.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Lins1066 Fri 11-Dec-20 08:32:55

Good morning Mick and all from a wet S Welsh coast. I've been awake since 4am with aching joints, won't be doing much today. the tree decorating will have to wait.
Best wishes to those on this thread who are struggling for all sorts of reasons.
Stay safe.

ginny Fri 11-Dec-20 08:36:01

Good Morning. Another damp and murky morning .

Late today as like others I did sleep well.

It is DD2s birthday today, it a ‘big O’ but of course celebrations have been curtailed.
We will visit outside her house with gifts and a packed up cream tea. One of her gifts is a something that will surprise her. I hope she likes it. I will tell you tomorrow.
Hope you all find a ?today.

baubles Fri 11-Dec-20 08:40:29

Good morning Mick, what a good postie your friend has, morning everyone from a very grey South Lanarkshire.

You’re so talented grandMattie, I’m sure Iris will be. delighted with your handiwork. Love the window Ashcombe.

How annoying having your vases leaping out of the cupboard at you Beechnut, it’s never ones that you don’t like is it? travelsafar sometimes I wake up feeling wrecked, I hope you manage to have a restorative nap later on although that would make me feel worse. I have a much younger friend who regularly naps and DH has perfected the art. The world is divided into nappers and non nappers, sadly I’m a non.

Urmstongran it can’t hurt to see your GP, even if only to set your mind at rest.

Scentia, I like your expression ‘finding your smile’, I hope you do find it, I’ll look for mine too as I’d definitely lost it yesterday, for some reason I allowed myself to slide into a grey fog. Onwards and upwards today, tier 4 is no more and the local shops will be open so I’m hoping to get out to see if I can find a couple of little things for my DGC’s other grandparents who we usually see at Christmastime but probably won’t this year.

Hope everyone has the best day possible.

cornergran Fri 11-Dec-20 08:40:57

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset.

Good news about Iris grandMattie, it must have made you smile to see how cheerful she looked. That’s sad news about your father in law Grammaretto, I’m so sorry.

Hope the painkillers help Scentia, chronic pain is debilitating physically and emotionally. Be careful with that delivery marydoll, it sounds bigger than you are.

Hope greyd and urms have positive GP experiences. You’re far more accepting of your damp hall than I would be kitty, hope there’s a solution soon.

Best stir, anyone else heard the expression ‘this won’t get the baby a new bonnet’? It was a favourite of my Mum, I always wondered if she had made it up.

Take care everyone, hope there is some brightness for us all.

Stilllearning Fri 11-Dec-20 08:45:49

Morning from a calm S Lanarkshire, if it's not as cold as yesterday I'll do a couple of 'window visit's' today to friends who need some company, one who's recovering from a knee replacement and is still at the very painful stage and needs to offload!
Ashcombe, sorry your trip to your DH in France is not going to happen, you must be so disappointed, probably left you vulnerable to getting your cold. Your windows are lovely, being so creative is such a gift.
Glad to hear good news of Iris grandMattie, it must make you feel good to be able to help her recovery in such a practical way. Such talent in this group!
My 8 year old granddaughter and I have finished our joint reading of her Harry Potter book. That has been a great success and I am so happy to have that connection restored, I was really worried we would grow apart after nearly a year of no personal contact. I'm going to try one called ' The boy in the chair' next, about a refugee child joining a class in this country and trying to fit in.
Good wishes to everyone for the day..

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmabatty Fri 11-Dec-20 08:58:55

Good morning All from a damp Polmont. cornergran, my dad said it all the time! Marydoll thank you for the mention. Like the fiddler's elbow, I'm up and down. Yesterday was babysitting and he's such a joy. We spent ages outside watching the "lorry" pull up the old lampposts. He is fascinated by vehicles of all kinds. Then one of my lovely neighbours gave him a selection box. He looked at it wonderingly as he doesn't get chocolate much and had no idea of the delights within. I tried very hard to get him to say ta but the puddles were more enticing. Today I'm meeting my oldest friend for coffee at a local garden centre. I haven't seen her for a while although we keep in touch often. Then more gift wrapping. Scentia enjoy your time with your dgs. Will you get another dog? I lost my last one four years ago and I still have a longing for another one from time to time. Bellasnanna, your poor wee dog. I hope the injection works for him. *Ashcombe more lovely window pictures! Grandmattie it is good to hear Your dgd so cheerful. And excellent sewing. Grammarretto you're having such a rotten time ?. I'm sorry if I've missed anybody. Have a good day all.

Auntieflo Fri 11-Dec-20 09:04:54

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all, from a dull bit of Berks.
I haven't had the energy to post recently, so feel very behind, as I also haven't caught up with everybody's 'doings'!

This morning I am to have a spine x-ray, I wonder if it will give any clue to the constant pain?

Lovely trousers and pants Grandmattie, and lovely to hear that little Iris is feeling much brighter.

Ashcombe, love your window display, and the outlook is very pleasant too. tchsmile

Will try and catch up a bit more later. No energy at the moment.
Missing Gillybob
Have a good day one and all.

Stilllearning Fri 11-Dec-20 09:18:32

Popping back to correct the title of the book I mentioned, not The. Boy in the chair, it’s The Boy at the Back of the Class’, sorry, in a rush this am.

Marydoll Fri 11-Dec-20 09:20:56

Good luck, Auntieflo!

Bellasnana Fri 11-Dec-20 09:21:52

cornergran, my mum used to say ‘this won’t get the baby a new dress, nor yet mend the old one’.

Thank you Grandmabatty, he’s got to have the injection once a week until we see if it works. Poor boy.

Best of luck with your x-ray, Auntieflo.?

Good morning from a grey NE. We had heavy overnight rain.
GDs are finished school today after their virtual service of nine lessons this morning.
The school service is normally in Durham cathedral and we always look forward to attending. Wonderful to hear the girls singing.
Another novel finished yesterday despite dozing off during the afternoon, well I had been up since five.
Lovely to hear how Iris is progressing.
My sister once received a postcard from a walking club friend addressed to Miss harri's sister, the name of a local pub and then a neatly drawn little map of streets with no names and ended with it is the left hand semi in the middle of the street
Take care everyone.

EllanVannin Fri 11-Dec-20 09:32:01

Good Morning All x.
Very wet outside after the deluges last night. I'd wondered what the noise was last night and it couldn't have rained any harder.

Neighbour knocked yesterday to show me her new addition to the family, a tiny Yorkshire Biewer terrier. I had to have a hold of her and it made my day. She has 3 pedigree Persian cats, so quite a menagerie. It was very expensive !

D is popping in today sometime as it's her day off from work. She was saying that she's thrilled with her new bathroom and the disruptions had been worth it, so had been busy cleaning and sorting everywhere while her ex. had been doing school runs etc. After all the years she'd been married to him this is the only time he's helped out with children shock D's not saying anything mind you as it's handy with her work hours and fits in nicely.

I hope you can get your jaw-ache sorted Urmston, it's quite painful in that area of the ear too. Hopefully antibiotics will sort it out.

Also this damp for our arthritic friends isn't pleasant either. It brings out all the aches and pains.

Lovely window Ashcombe, at least it will give you a bit of cheer since arrangements were turned on their head.

Good to hear that Iris has picked up, it doesn't take children long to bounce back.
Speaking of which, my D got a phone call last week from the teacher of one of the children to say he had tum ache. D went to pick him up and he'd told her it was excitement for Christmas, so D decided to take him to get a tree for them to decorate that weekend. Tum ache went ! grin

Breakfast is calling so I wish everyone a good day and stay safe. Thoughts to Gilly x
Take care all and look after yourself Mick. xx

Grandmafrench Fri 11-Dec-20 09:40:57

Good Morning from an overcast South of France where a weekend of sunshine is forecast. I’ve tried so hard this morning - even made the odd note to remind me who’s doing what, but I have to give in and not try to comment on all your ‘doings’. Too much going on here ?.

So, I shall just wish everyone a happy day, a pain free time and a hope that your worries or anxieties will come to nothing after all.

DH is helping me clean all the floors.....he moves furniture so I can do a good job without ‘crippledom’ descending as a punishment for me - and before it’s finished. ( When I get my cleaning mojo...common sense goes out of the window and I forget all about my back! ?. )

I’m sending warm wishes to you all. Make your day a good one but in all your doings, please don’t forget about YOU. Keep safe everyone.

Hugs, x ??‍♀️?

Goodness, I'm late this morning! I woke briefly at 7am, turned over and next thing I knew it was quarter past nine! So I'll just add my greetings then have a read through later.

It's a grey murky morning here in Northampton, thank goodness I don't have to walk out. Just sitting with my mug of tea, and row of tablets lined up in front of me. Still getting an ache in my back and shoulder, seems worse in the mornings. I did manage to Hoover upstairs yesterday, and will give downstairs a going over this morning - although I might wait until Monday, when I need to move the furniture around to get the tree up.

No other plans at home today apart from the usual tidying up and kitchen/bathroom cleaning, so will take it easy. Got plenty of recordings on the tv to watch and am getting into another Agatha Christie.

Had my two expected packages yesterday, but am now waiting for two more, then that's all my Christmas presents done.

Hoping today is kind to us all.
