Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and looks cold and damp here in Brackley .
Today, general shop either Brackley or Bicester as yet undecided .
I did not go to Bicester yesterday , staying in most of the day, as waited for my Parsley Box delivery, with a few Christmas food items in it , just to keep me going over the period .
I also chatted to my friend on the phone in the evening as I had sent her a card without he street address on ,she had just received it , we talked about things on the phone.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning all from a Dreich Harrogate. I was taking advantage of an 'empty' but they don't last long and he's back!!
Why do so many of us suffer from Insomnia - like I say, this ageing business just ain't for wimps!! I've had an itch which has driven me to distraction, the docs just don't understand!!
So glad your GD is so cheerful, grandMattie I t will be such a relief for you.
Got to go to have a blood test

Keep well!

Good morning one and all. It's grey and wet in the Gower but much milder today.

I did have a much better night, thank you for thinking about me Susan.
I'm sorry to hear that some of you didn't though, it makes the rest of the day heavy work ?

I had my hair cut a bit shorter than usual yesterday, it'll grow ?. There seem to be a few goodmorningers visiting the hairdresser's today, I hope you are all happy with the result.

Pleased to hear that Iris is more cheerful grandMattie and it happy with your clever handiwork ?

So sorry to hear that your FiL is struggling in hospital Grammaretto. It's such a hard time for all of you ?

Hope those of you with GP and hospital appointments get answers and treatment to dispense with your worries and pain.

Be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London where it is grey.
I was awake for a couple of hours during the night, listening to the radio on headphones, then I drifted back to sleep and finally awoke at 9.05am.
Oh Ashcombe your window is lovely, they are definitely all ‘looking for santa’.
GrandMattie what lovely news about Iris.
The GM thread must surely announce you as a gold star member of the Ancient and Noble Order Queen of the Knickers.
Scentia so sorry to hear about your arthritis. Mine was grim but a cortisone injection and a daily walk (gradually building up to a mile per day) have really made a difference. I have some strong painkillers, should I need them, but I seldom do.

My partner set up our new internet router yesterday. It is a ‘super router’ with 7 antennas ... it means nothing to me. As long as our signal is strong and steady ... I don’t want to know anything else.

No luck with Hermes collecting the Christmas parcels, I can’t even log in to their web page. I have emailed customer services ... am I being naive to expect a response?

Marydoll, you’re right, we don’t seem to have heard from MellowYellow, I hope all is well with her. I think of gilly every morning when I join this thread.

Have a restful and pleasant day, all. ?

Hope all who are feeling low soon get some relief soon .

Good morning all. Heavy rain here, we were planning on tidying the garden today but it’s not fit. Stay safe everyone.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where there’s a bit of rain in the air but mainly cold and dry
I’m much later than usual here today as we had the DGC stay over last night and did the school run this morning. Then a mountain of washing to put on and a tidy up before settling down with my coffee and toast and reading all the news on here.
Sorry to hear quite a few lovely GMorningers are struggling just now, Scentia, Ashcombe , greyduster , nannytopsy, urmston, auntieflo and I’m sure there are many others with various ailments - please take it easy all and wishing everyone a very speedy recovery
I was just going to say I’d not much planned for the rest of today but DD2 just this minute messaged asking if we could pick up the DGC from school again this afternoon ? ..... so there goes my lazzzzzzy day!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Good morning everyone from a grey, dreich, breezy, rainy Angus coast. I can just about see lights across in the town through the murk.
What a lot of pain and discomfort there is amongst us. I'll just add my skin 'irritation' to the list because although it isn't deep-seated immobilising pain, it's making a concerted bid to take over my body! I wish us all relief from our ailments ?.
Ash your window is lovely - you are truly creative! As for Grandmattie - your sewing skills are second to none! It must be wonderful for you to know you're doing something to help. I'm so glad Iris is making such great progress. From being afraid to move to the commode to bumping up and down stairs on her bottom is a giant step forward. ?.
Grammaretto I am so sorry about your poor FiL. You are certainly being given the worst that life can give at the moment, but it's wonderful that you feel able to post on here. ❣️
I have read through all the posts and am now confused as to who said what - I'm trying to re-educate my memory by not taking notes! I have just cheated by scrolling up to confirm that it was Scentia who has misplaced her smile. I'm sure you'll find that your little DGS has had it all the time and he'll give it back to you bigger and brighter than ever ?
Well, it's a plodding on sort of day, so off I shall plod. I hope all goes well for everybody - and that none of that whisky (*Marydoll*) joins the vases and pickles on the floor. ???

A late good morning from N Hants. Not cold at all, but damp and dreary. Earache is one of those horrible things that, like toothache, just can’t be ignored. Hope yours gets sorted out soon Urms. Meeting your family tomorrow, that’s something to really look forward to.
As I can no longer defrost and clean my chest freezer properly anymore I decided it was time to get an upright freezer for the garage. How did the conversation go from best buy freezers to buying brandy on special offer? The owner, myself and one other lady customer ended up in stitches. That’s what I miss from doing my own shopping, the wonderful human contact.

Lots struggling on here. I really hope you all have a better day but I must just congratulate Ash and Grandmattie on their particular skills, both so clever.
Take care everyone ??

Morning all, just thought I’d mention my experience to Urmston and anyone else with ‘ a pain in the neck’ literally. Hadthis on and off for several years, diagnosed at first as cervical spondylitis (old age, wear and tear) by several GPs , painkillers and exercise, finally a scan and Geriatric consultant a year ago, same thing really but thistime actually told. Osteoarthritis and back to pain killers. Sorry to sound pessimistic however, anyone got a better diagnosis let me know, Have a birthday on Sunday so the old age bit even more obvious ?? Take care everyone.i

A late morning all from a damp South Notts, a bit chilly too. Nothing planned today, I may or may not go out for a little walk later. Am soldiering on with the bed sock knitting, another 'sacrificial sock' which I think is going to be a bit on the large side but it's all experience, isn't it? One day I may make the perfect pair, ha ha!

Grammaretto such worries for you, I hope things improve.

That's lovely, Ashcombe a beautiful window display. I haven't even got my tree out yet but possibly this weekend.

Hope Friday is kind to everyone, especially those with worries or illness.

So much so for D's visit ! It was cut short by another phone-call from school, this time another one. The 14 year old " couldn't smell anything " !
I'd just made a coffee but told D to get it drunk as there was no rush/panic. ( We think he's trying it on ) Benefit of the doubt she's gone to pick him up to take him to a test centre.

I wouldn't mind but she'd only been here 5 minutes. Kids are frightened of missing something at times. I was fuming but have got over it now. Her day off too ! If it's negative I'd box his ears grin Then again if it's positive we'll all have to be tested along with a 2 week isolation-----I'd still box his ears !

Sar53 good luck with the new contact lenses with one for near sight and one for distance... I’ve worn gas permeable lenses like that for years and it’s a fantastic solution when you’re trying to juggle between reading and looking away. Somehow your brain works it out and I’m now able to drive/watch tv etc and also read small print in dim light, which was impossible with ordinary lenses or glasses. Good luck!

Ashcombe Fri 11-Dec-20 22:25:06

LadyO and Sar53: I’ve worn soft lenses with one for distance and one for close work for several years and they work well. Good luck Sar53!
