Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London where it is grey. (I write that sentence so frequently that it now pops up on my predictive text...)

Hermes are coming to collect the Christmas parcels today. I couldn’t log on to their website but downloaded the app and got everything labelled and booked. I hope it works.

On line groceries today and I will include a few seasonal treats ...

Thinking of those facing challenges today. Good wishes to Iris. Hoping Grammaretto has a gentle day.
Gosh Pittcity my heart skipped a beat there ... don’t let your new wealth go to your head!

Have a nice day, all. ?

Definitely brook I’m about to spontaneously combust! Totally fizzing with excitement! Himself reminded me I’ll have to put on some clothes today - pj’s for a fortnight meant I didn’t open my wardrobe since coming back from Spain! Way I saw it was what was the point?

GG13 what a gorgeous baby - you can tell he’s into everything at this delightful age. My money’s on the baby not the tree! Hard work though as you don’t even get a cup of coffee in peace when you mind them at that age do you!

Good morning Mick and all. Dry here on the S Welsh coast. Our daughter is finally having her new patio laid today, the builders have found it difficult to get the three different sizes of slabs due shortages.
Decorations day here too. A fruit and veg delivery and hopefully a walk. Enjoy your day with your family Urm, Christmas come early indeed. Hope you are feeling better and Cherry too.
Have a pleasant day everyone, and stay safe.

Forgot to add our tree which I decorated earlier in the week.

Good morning all from a dry S Hants, up later today as no DH alarm for his work. The kitchen furniture arrived yesterday, so an assembly job today, I also need to check if the swede and parsnips in the garden are fit for consumption.
A lot of news on here, I won’t remember all...Urmston enjoy your family meet and your first day of freedom. gM gosh, you’ll be sewing a lot, admirable. GG13 lovely photo..what temptation!
Wishing you all a gentle day.

Bellasnana Sat 12-Dec-20 08:33:39

Good morning all. It is looking a bit grey and damp in Malta today.

What a tragedy outside your DD’s yesterday BlueSapphire. It does make you think just how fragile life is and how it can turn in a moment.sad

I’m about to get up, I am so lazy these days. Been awake for a couple of hours but after I feed the dog and let him out, I bring my tea back to bed and spend ages playing online scrabble, scrolling through Facebook, catching up on emails. The time evaporates and here I am still in my pit at 9.30.

Have a good day everyone and please take care if you’re out and about.☀️

Good morning from a damp NE.
Enjoyed the service of nine lessons online, thrilled to see GD2 centre stage in the choir, she has a beautiful voice but never sings around the house.
My sister's SIL was supposed to be moving yesterday, her removal van ready to leave incomers van waiting to unload and the transaction didn't go through. She is the widow of an only child and her MIL died at the weekend so she has to arrange the funeral and empty her home too. I think her stress levels must be sky high this week.
I had a message from DS last night "what are you doing about Christmas " ? Oh and that was just as I was putting the bedside light out at 11.30 pm ?

ginny Sat 12-Dec-20 08:40:57

Good Morning. N. Bucks is murky this morning.
DD2 was thrilled with her birthday gift yesterday. It was a commissioned water colour of her house with little pictures of some of her best loved things. Difficult to describe.

Nothing definite arranged today but plenty to keep me busy . We might put up the tree and a few decorations if I can muster up the enthusiasm.
Hope you all find a ?today.

Good morning everybody- yes, it’s grey again and raining but I have no plans to go out as I am waiting in for Royal Mail to collect the first of my parcels. Felt a great sense of achievement setting it up yesterday, I can be a bit clueless with this sort of thing and swearing at the computer doesn’t seem to help.
Far too late last night - finished my Icelandic wool throw, watching the Barbara Windsor programme on TV but felt too “wired” to go to bed, then even when I did, I was ordering my Nespresso capsules, amending my Waitrose order and finishing my book - until just short of 2am .
So low on energy today but relieved the throw is done.
Wishing you all a gentle day- as good as it can be and for those in pain or with worries, hoping you get some relief.

Good morning Mick, morning all. It’s yet another damp, drizzly one here in South Lanarkshire.

Sweet photo GG13 tchsmile

I’ll take a walk later to deliver cards to the neighbours then I really must start wrapping.

Have a peaceful Saturday everyone.

baubles Sat 12-Dec-20 08:49:03

Absolutely beautiful throw Maw, she’ll be thrilled I’m sure.

aggie Sat 12-Dec-20 08:51:56

I love the throw Maw

Urmstongran Sat 12-Dec-20 08:54:50

Such a cosy scene there Maw that throw looks gorgeous - soft enough to snuggle.

Sorry about that photo Ashcombe you’re right. The star is actually along the top right edge but it hardly transferred over - just a peep of white!

Reminds me of the old ‘Spot the Ball’ competitions in the newspapers back in the day! I used to try and follow the trajectory of the players eyes - then next week when the result was published it was down in the bottom corner, nowhere near where I assumed!

Anniebach Sat 12-Dec-20 09:02:15

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Susan56 Sat 12-Dec-20 09:02:47

Good morning from Shropshire.

I had my hair cut and coloured yesterday and DH had what I can only describe as a good cut?at least it won’t need cutting for a while!

We looked after Henry.Grannygravy, H is now 14 months and in to everything.I have attached a picture of him in his new favourite place?

I had a sleepless night.Last week I had a drs appointment,I was referred urgently for a hospital appointment and told I would be seen within two weeks.I have received an appointment for 8th January. My middle of the night mind was convincing me of all sorts☹️

The throw is beautiful Maw.So many talented ladies on our good morning thread.

Bellasnanna,I too am still in my pit,a term my dad used to use.

Ashcombe, hope you start to feel brighter as the day goes on and hoping Mary and Cherry are both feeling better.

Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Sat 12-Dec-20 09:05:00

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it is just getting light. We get 7 hours of daylight today. I had better take the VitD .

It's also my DD's birthday. Not a happy day or indeed year for her.
FiL is now very poorly in the covid ward.

I will go and make the most of the daylight.
Great to see your Christmas trees.

Ashcombe Sat 12-Dec-20 09:05:12

Thanks, Urmstongran, for the explanation. I’ll look again.

Gosh, Spot the Ball! That’s going back a few years - these days, we could have Spot the Sulk or Spot the Spit! (not to be confused with Spot the Dog which is something else entirely!) And wasn’t there a Spit the Dog on TV at one time?

Enough rambling from me!

Marydoll Sat 12-Dec-20 09:07:11

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow. I've had a dreadful night and Charleygirl, if you are reading this, what were you doing infiltrating my bizarre dreams? grin

Glad to see you have been released Urmston and hopefully your GP can sort you out. Great excitement at eventually being able to see your family after all this time.

GM I have a huge tin of buttons, many were my mother's and grandmother's. They will never be of any use to me, but I can't bear to throw them out. It's a pity we didn't live nearer to each other.

I'm so envious of those who are managing to get to the hairdressers. My DD has promised to bring her thinning scissors next weekend and have a go at hacking cutting my hair. Thank goodness my public won't be seeing me for some time! grin

DD has come up with a plan to look after DH and once we get the vaccine. This worries me! wink.
She has decided since I have a history of allergic reactions to various treatments and medications, there is a possibility I will be unwell and I will need looking after as she can't rely on DH! So...she will move in for a few days. ? He is mortally offended at her casting aspersions on his nursing skills. ?
It's me who has always been the carer and I hate being unable to do things!

After yesterday's experience of her "assistance" with putting the online delivery away, I may end up in coronary care, rather than the vaccine making me ill. ?
I'm a very logical person and DD is the exact opposite! Chaos ensued! That's all I'm going to say. Poor SIL hid until it was all sorted. grin.
She is so good to me, but fusses far too much.

She then started catastrophising because DH hadn't come back from the golf at his usual time. Convinced that he was lying somewhere on the golf course, she wanted me to phone my friend the Ebay queen and ask her to phone her husband, his golfing partner to see if he was OK. This is because he has slipped a couple of times recently. I wish I hadn't told her that.
I had to lie in a darkened room after they left!

Hoping every one has a reasonable day and that our missing friends re-appear very soon. I just wish Gilly would let us know she is OK.
Take care everyone.

Marydoll Sat 12-Dec-20 09:10:09

Susan I'm sorry to hear your news. flowers, No wonder you couldn't sleep. I love the picture of Henry. smile

Lot's of great photos today. Well done, Maw!

Greyduster Sat 12-Dec-20 09:13:03

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a murky South Yorkshire. Not so cold today though. Saw the doctor about my ear yesterday. No infection, just wax so persevere with the olive oil for a week. It still itches like b*****y though!! Good to hear your doctor was reassuring, Urms. Not a lot on the cards today, so I may reacquaint myself with the rug I started making. I like your throw, Maw - it would look lovely on my new sofa! Have a good safe day folks.

Urmstongran Sat 12-Dec-20 09:14:02

Ashcombe ??

Marydoll your household antics are a joy to read every morning I love them!

Sar53 Sat 12-Dec-20 09:20:02

Good morning everyone from a very grey Essex by the sea. Like many of you I've had a dreadful night, I finally had a couple of hours at 05.00.
No plans today, may go for a walk to blow the cobwebs away.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Dec-20 09:20:38

Good morning All. It's dreich out in Polmont. I have been shopping already and back home for toast and tea. I promised dd I would get the chipolatas for Christmas day and they have to be bought from a particular butcher's which gets unbelievably busy. So I was there for it opening at eight. I got a steak pie for new year's day too, just in case mum decides to come over. Then, flushed with success, I did the week's shop in aldi too. So everything bought and put away. Today will be a housework day. I must write the cards for the neighbours too. Have a good day all.

Auntieflo Sat 12-Dec-20 09:29:47

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. I don't feel quite so bad now that several GN's have said that they are still in bed!
I have been very lazy lately, and was woken early on with pain under my right shoulder. Yesterday it was all on the left, seems to have moved during the night.
So my sympathy to BlueSapphire, who is also having back pain, and also to her DD who had an accident happen outside their home.
Grannygravy13 and Susan56, what lovely babies in the house. Ours are all grown up now, and producing GGC.
Maw I love your throw, clever you.
Such a lot of news to catch up on, that I will have to go back and re-read. But lovely having photos to see.
Marydoll. Thanks for your 'daily doings', you make me laugh.

Think I will stay in the warm today and not do anything, again.
So have a good day one and all.

maydonoz Sat 12-Dec-20 09:34:30

Good morning all from a dull, grey but dry Welwyn in Herts.
Yesterday I spent an interesting morning on an induction course to help as a volunteer with the Covid vaccination program. It was well attended, I didn't do a head count, but there must have been at least 60 or 70 people- all volunteers. We were mostly ladies and maybe 10 men. We will assist in getting clients in and out safely and the plan is to start vaccinations on the 21st December so oit will be interesting to take part in some small way. There were quite a few volunteers of similar age to me and we all wore masks and sat well apart in a large hall, so it was as Covid secure as possible.
I wish everyone a good day, Christmas will soon be upon us.
