Good morning to you all from a dark, but dry Torbay.
It’s good to hear such positive news about Iris! It must be such a relief for you, grandMattie and all the family. The best Christmas present!
Unlike the government announcement yesterday which will have put the plans of many families into disarray. I can see it had to be done, but such a late decision makes it hard for many folk, not least because the last posting date has passed for any whose plans involve travelling a distance that could not be undertaken with the return on the same day!
It is puzzling to me how, in parts of London, schools were firmly refused permission to close early last week due to high nos. of cases but now the government recognises the seriousness of the situation by placing the city in a virtual lockdown, along with others now in Tier 4.
My DD2 put things in perspective during a phone call yesterday in which she said how tough it was for families in WW1 and WW2, not knowing if family members were alive at Christmas time. We are living through a war of a different kind.
I love the card, Nortsat, likening our PM to such an aptly named character from Dickens! We need such light relief!
Welcome back, Viridian. Great idea, pass the parcel!
Our amdram gathering at our theatre was a great success yesterday and this afternoon, I’m looking forward to a nearby Carol Service outside, accompanied by Torbay Brass Band, with a lesson read by our MP, Tory wet, Kevin Foster. (rain isn’t forecast!) ?
My heart goes out to those who are anxious about their health, loved ones, Christmas or any other concerns. This will pass, friends. ?
