A rubber broom, removes so much hair and fluff from floors and carpets and stops the vacuum cleaner from getting clogged.

Can't think of a thing

A small & compact retro turntable with cd and cassette player, FM radio, Bluetooth, playback from & recording to a memory stick. I’m having great fun unearthing my cd’s which I haven’t heard for some time and vinyl not heard in years. All for under £90!

A wireless printer/copier/scanner to be able to print directly from the iPhone!

Shark vacuum cleaner - it is a bit heavy but sucks up so much dirt and pet hair. I think it has saved me ££ as I don’t need to wash my dirt trapper mats so often, the Shark gets them clean.

A small plug-in electric heater for the conservatory, which means that we can eat out there without wearing ten coats! It was very inexpensive to buy, is cheap to run and packs out a really decent heat. ? tchsmile

Buying things in 2020!? Not really.

Icebreaker merino base layers. They made walking so much more comfortable!

A boot Jack, makes getting wellies off so much easier after muddy dog walks.

My lovely Dualit classic toaster. Made in England by Robert.
The soda stream was last years Best Buy. Not, unfortunately, made in the U.K. but has saved so much money and plastic over the 18 months we have had it.

Thermal underwear from M&S - they look like thin jumpers but are so effective. An electric egg boiler/poacher. I could never guarantee good poached eggs, but Eggs Benedict with bacon, ham or smoked salmon and Eggs Florentine are regularly on the menu now.

An Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. I love being able to accumulate books on my small, light handheld device. I can enlarge the font, change the brightness, buy a recommended book in about 3 minutes.

I will still buy actual books from my independent bookseller but my Kindle has increased my reading fourfold. I slip it into my bag wherever I am going so I can pick up the story wherever I am.

Ooh, yes, Missingmoominmama, I recently bought a merino wool base layer top from Mountain Warehouse - wonderful!

A Dyson robot vacuum.
We just turn her on and leave her to it.

Our cats are not fans though ...

A George Foreman grill.
We use it for sausages, fish fingers, chops, chicken smitten, steaks and gammon.
The fat runs out into a a tray underneath for disposal.

Puzzler61 Thu 31-Dec-20 15:20:59

Chicken snitzel , not smitten !

BBbevan Thu 31-Dec-20 15:29:17

A jigsaw ,Hokusai The Wave. Took us 3 months to finish!!!!!

Greeneyedgirl Thu 31-Dec-20 15:36:44

A compact Sage glass kettle. Have it upstairs for early cuppa. It’s ideal if you only want to boil a small amount of hot water and looks stylish.

Jaxjacky Thu 31-Dec-20 15:42:15

New iPads for us both in February, been heavily used over 2020

A beautiful kitten who is keeping us amused. He arrived as a tiny terrified little creature but very quickly brought us under control as his servants.

Nannagarra Thu 31-Dec-20 15:48:04

A reflective jacket from Mountain Warehouse which ‘ lights up like a beacon’ in car headlights according to a fellow night time cyclist. In day light it’s grey; in darkness the whole jacket is a very bright white.

Hammock and wooden stand. I treated myself as my 70th birthday holiday was cancelled due to lockdown.

It was my resting place in between gardening this year. Except when family visit then granddaughter claims it.

WOODMOUSE49 I love the hammock, I have wanted one for ages. They are expensive but look good quality, were the firm ok to deal with?
