Thanks for replies, Kim It's now Thursday here, 12.10am and 21C after another day of 33C. Same for next 3 days. Love it!

Soup: Farmhouse Potato and Leek with
Roasted Garlic Croutons
Main; Penne Arrabbiata (Al dente penne pasta topped with a mild arrabbiata sauce)
Very tasty too, although "mild" was a bit of an understatement!
Thinking of becoming a dietician!

Sorry that I didn't pop in last night.
I was awake, but I don't that I could think of anything to say. I think that we all feel a bit like that at the moment! I've definitely been feeling very much in the doldrums of late.
Radio 5 doesn't play music. It's current affairs, news and sport. It has quite a few phone ins. I'm generally a fan, but I don't like the chap who does the overnights during the week (Dotun Odebayo). He's a bit shouty for that time of night.
I'm very annoyed that the BBC have lost the rights to the cricket. It is now on Talk Sport, which really isn't the same at all. I miss Jonathan Agnew.

Generally I prefer the World Service at night, or increasingly an audio book. I'm currently listening to, and enjoying a book about the Mitfords. It's called Take Six Girls. Highly recommended if you like that sort of thing.
But I could talk about radio endlessly.

Just did my research. I had completely forgotten them but the images have stirred up memories of pleasant family viewing. Thank you. Watched an interview with the leading lady who seems to be going strong at a pleasant 82. Bravo!

I loved it Kim19. But I started work and wasn't home at lunchtime. I cried when I put the last episode on and the video was so blurred I couldn't watch. Amazon had some series but not the last.

Just popped on to share some good news which will mean nothing to most of you. Have managed to order the last series of The Sullivans. I missed the last episode as my video recorder didn't work and in those days there was no catchup. Can't wait to get it.

A lot better than snow though. I suppose you're still enjoying a heatwave. We went from minus 9 to 8 within a couple of days. Can't ever remember such a dramatic switch before. Kinda feels like the tropics! So..... what's on the menu?

everyone sleeping well except me then. just had cup of tea with rich tea biscuit o.r two. got radio 5 live on. Fortunately not in pain, just wake after couple of hours and can't drop back to sleep. off to try again now.

Good luck with the Dyson, Fanny. I must admit that my Dyson was the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever had in my life.I thought maybe I just got a lemon but my daughter said the same about hers. Overpriced, underperforming. Anyway, we bought a nice new Wertheim which actually does a proper job.

Morning Mollygo. Our Hermes is not very dependable either. Last week I saw the lady coming. I opened the door to find her putting the parcel in my recycle bin. She hadn't even checked if I was in. Another time she lifted the doormat and "hid" the parcel under it. She is a pleasant lady though. And I've never had anything go missing. That would be annoying.

Wow! A new vacuum-cleaning will be much more fun for a while.
It’s curious where all the ‘lost’ things go. Hermes once left me a text saying they’d left my package by the back door. Not true. That would have involved climbing over our garage or going via next door and climbing over the wall.
I’m glad it was warm for you yesterday. It was still cold here, but sunny and slightly less wind.
Anyway I’m going to drink the tea DH has just made and hope to sleep again. Night all.

It's been very quiet around here of late, much like everywhere else really.
What a mild, even warm, day it's been today! I've had my back door open all day and turned off the heating.
More good, if slightly dull, news - my new Dyson vacuum has finally arrived! It was a second attempt, after Hermes 'lost' the first one.
Anyway, it would be nice if you pop in and say hello and share any good, if slightly dull, news too!
