Hello Everyone smile
New thread here.
Thank you all so very much for your company on the first thread.
I'm looking forward to our half asleep, woozy 2am chats moonbrew

Mollygo Tue 12-Jan-21 21:10:56

Hello, just in case . . .

Georgesgran Tue 12-Jan-21 21:25:56

Me too - I’ll check in later - much later! X

FannyCornforth Wed 13-Jan-21 02:01:18

Hello Everyone!smilemoon
Yes, here it is, the proper one!
Back in a mo! brew

grannyactivist Wed 13-Jan-21 02:14:17

I keep coughing myself awake, but I’ve had a cup of tea now and hopefully I’ll get in a few ?s before I wake up again.

FannyCornforth Wed 13-Jan-21 02:25:55

Oh grannyactivist that does sound worrying.
I hope that you feel much better soon.

Rufus2 Wed 13-Jan-21 03:14:43

Yes, I have started the official Night Owls thread, part Two-whit Two-woo

Fanny Sorry to have given you the "bums-rush", as they say here, by waking you up, but now that you are I have to bow to your superior rank! tchconfused
But I did get in first! tchgrin
Now I'll never get the chance to feel "chuffed", as my thread didn't even reach 10, let alone 1,000. sad
No soup for you, I'm afraid. You don't know what you're missing!
OoRoo

FannyCornforth Wed 13-Jan-21 03:20:25

Oh Rufus! I've just replied to this on the other thread confused
So I'll summarise:
1. The soup sounds absolutely delicious
2. I'm afraid that you didn't ' get there first' , as I started this hours ago

Rufus2 Wed 13-Jan-21 03:44:09

I'm afraid that you didn't ' get there first' , as I started this hours ago
In your dreams?
I looked but I could not see!
However, can you exert your authority and have "my" thread removed? It's got my name attached so it should be easy!

Otherwise I'll be developing a split personality and you wouldn't want to be woken in the middle of the night by the sounds of maniacal laughter! tchhmm
Sweet Dreams.

Mollygo Wed 13-Jan-21 03:51:21

Hello anyone who’s awake. I slept really well till 3.00 and then the bedclothes disappeared! By the time I’d rescued my share from DH’s relentless grip I was thoroughly awake. Perhaps my cup of tea will be soporific.
Hopefully everyone is sleeping.

nadateturbe Wed 13-Jan-21 05:33:36

Good morning! Awake for an hour wasting time on fb. Should have read my book! (Jane and Prudence by Barbara Pym)
My husband hogs the duvet too Mollygo and his legs stretch out diagonally! Thankfully we don't sleep together often.

Grammaretto Thu 14-Jan-21 02:21:55

Hi night owls. I found the new thread and am wide awake.
I have had a midnight feast and read my way through the latest threads. what now?
The radio is just awful news.
I almost convinced myself I had the covid as I was coughing but have no other symptoms.
Oh dear. Anyone else awake for a chat?
If not I could try getting back to sleep.

FannyCornforth Thu 14-Jan-21 02:51:12

Hello, I'm here Grammaretto I've just put on the radio. Some woman talking about eating bear meat on Radio 4 confused
I might change to LBC but that's 24/7 misery.
What was your midnight feast?

FannyCornforth Thu 14-Jan-21 02:54:15

Are you a potter / ceramicist Grammaretto?
I've read a bit of the Lockdown Gang (Lobsters) thread, but it's quite hard as a newbie to keep up smile

Grammaretto Thu 14-Jan-21 03:14:29

Hi FannyC thanks for being there!
I have tried going back to sleep and yes I heard the bear meat lady in the yukon!
My feast was meusli. Not very exciting but filled a gap.
My phone keeps ringing with an unknown number. Spooky.

Dragonella Thu 14-Jan-21 03:50:29

3.45am - my husband and I are up sorting out our collection of thousands of books... whether we'll be able to find anyone to take the ones we don't want is another question, but fortunately we have 4 sheds in the garden!

The midnight feast is a good idea. Toast and Marmite should hit the spot nicely.

FannyCornforth Thu 14-Jan-21 04:43:46

Four sheds! Wow, we had two for a while. I'd love a shed of my own, to paraphrase Virginia Woolf.
I need to sort out my books, I've got a ridiculously amount and I just don't have the space for them I decided that I was going to get rid via Music Magpie, but I had trouble with the app, so the best layed plans and all that.
I've just shared some cheese straws with the dog. I'd be hard pushed to say who enjoyed them most.
Expecting snow here today. Fingers crossed!

Rufus2 Thu 14-Jan-21 05:42:13

Yes, here it is, the proper one!
Fanny C.
Beg your pardon, but there was nothing improper about the other one! tchhmm
As I've explained elsewhere, when I signed in there was nobody on duty; the notice advised me to start a new thread because the "old" one had reached the 1,000 limit.
So I did, but what thanks did I get?
Today's lunch menu consisted of soup, again, for starters;

Sweet potato;
Pumpkin;
Caramelised Onion;
Roasted Garlic Croutons.
Delicious; sorry there was none left for your midnight feast, but rest assured I was thinking of you with every sup! tchgrin [tchburp]

unfortunatly rufus lacks manners and there is always one that will support that lack.
Fanny has so much support on this thread. She also started this one after the other one reached the 1000 mark.
Come on and support FannyCornforth .

JackieBee1 Thu 14-Jan-21 09:14:32

We "heart" Fanny! Xxx

Nortsat Thu 14-Jan-21 09:19:28

Fanny, I think your Night Owls thread is a great idea and know many GNs find it really helpful to chat to others in the small hours.
Well done ⭐️
