Just did my research. I had completely forgotten them but the images have stirred up memories of pleasant family viewing. Thank you. Watched an interview with the leading lady who seems to be going strong at a pleasant 82. Bravo!

Good Morning Owls ?

Sorry that I didn't pop in last night.
I was awake, but I don't that I could think of anything to say. I think that we all feel a bit like that at the moment! I've definitely been feeling very much in the doldrums of late.
Radio 5 doesn't play music. It's current affairs, news and sport. It has quite a few phone ins. I'm generally a fan, but I don't like the chap who does the overnights during the week (Dotun Odebayo). He's a bit shouty for that time of night.
I'm very annoyed that the BBC have lost the rights to the cricket. It is now on Talk Sport, which really isn't the same at all. I miss Jonathan Agnew.
I p
Generally I prefer the World Service at night, or increasingly an audio book. I'm currently listening to, and enjoying a book about the Mitfords. It's called Take Six Girls. Highly recommended if you like that sort of thing.
But I could talk about radio endlessly.
Have a good day everyone. Probably see you later.

Hello to Lucca if you are about. I hope that you are okay flowers

Rufus2 Wed 17-Feb-21 13:52:54

Hey Rufus! I'm on your side and 'mostly' understand your humour. Keep up the good work, please. We're much better through the night though. Maybe not so much competition for me!!
Hi Rufus! Just thought you were being given a hard time yesterday and thought a bit of support wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks for replies, Kim It's now Thursday here, 12.10am and 21C after another day of 33C. Same for next 3 days. Love it!
Thanks for offer of support, although I can't say I noticed any hard times. Perhaps I'm punch drunk! grin
Your first message baffled me; you're probably having lunch right now and as we frown on "work talk" at the table, later on will do for clarification!
Still interested in my exotic lunch menus?
None today, too hot!
My light evening meal was;
Soup: Farmhouse Potato and Leek with
Roasted Garlic Croutons
Main; Penne Arrabbiata (Al dente penne pasta topped with a mild arrabbiata sauce)
Very tasty too, although "mild" was a bit of an understatement!
Thinking of becoming a dietician! grin

Helloooo, anyone about, or is it just me? ?moon

Mollygo Thu 18-Feb-21 06:51:59

Hi Fanny. Guess it was just you earlier on, which means everyone’s sleeping well?. Hope you have slept since your post.
I’m just walking round to try and get rid of cramp -probably a result of yesterday’s trek.
Have you anything good planned for today?

Kim19 Thu 18-Feb-21 07:00:59

Morning all! I had a good sleep indeed. Unusual but enjoy them when they happen. Had a concoction of leftover food which, when stir fried, turned into something quite delicious. Serendipity indeed. Culinary arts are neither my interest or forte. Some we win........ Hope we all gentle into what turns out to be a lovely day. From what I can hear it's blowing a gale outside. I'll stay cosy meantime.

It’s another hottie here, off to water the garden in a min. Had a lovely lunchtime meeting with our Probus club, over 60 turned up and most of us had lunch and a glass of wine after at the hotel.

Kim19 Thu 18-Feb-21 07:51:40

Gosh Nanna your Probus meeting sounds great. Looking forward to returning to those social circles when permitted.

polomint Fri 19-Feb-21 01:38:15

I guess since it's not really the wee sma' hours, no one is here. Oh well, I've just added a few comments to some limericks on the game's threads. Feel a wee bit tipsy as I've 3 bailleys...I cant hold my drink, I get woozy and tired. I dont think I would be a happy drunk either, I think I would be melancholy and sad so I wont have any more. I am beginning to feel drowsy so and that was my aim, so good night all... sweet dreams

GrannyRose15 Fri 19-Feb-21 01:59:00

Hi. I'm up. Feeling a bit down today though don't know why. Should really go to bed and read my book.

Kim19 Fri 19-Feb-21 04:25:15

Hello to anyone out there. Just woken up after a solid sleep. Five hour stints seem to be my max these days but I'm totally ok with that. Adapt and survive I guess. Managed a short stint in the garden yesterday. Just a little bit of very essential tidying up but the feeling of promise of more to come was right up there. Very pleasant........

FannyCornforth Fri 19-Feb-21 04:50:33

Hello Kim and to anyone else
I'm going through a shocker if a time at the moment. DH very ill and my problems are worse than ever. It's relentless sad But everything is so awful at present...

FannyCornforth Fri 19-Feb-21 04:56:33

Forgive me! I've got to have a moan somewhere blush sorry!

Kim19 Fri 19-Feb-21 07:22:54

Fanny, don't feel the need to apologise. Didn't come straight back to you because nothing I can say will make your plight better. Unfortunately most of us go through these awful times. Awful.......... ??

nanna8 Fri 19-Feb-21 07:36:07

Fanny don’t apologise. You are one of the most interesting and valued posters to me. Hope you are feeling better and things start looking up.

FannyCornforth Fri 19-Feb-21 07:36:09

Thank you Kim, that's very kind of you thanks

nadateturbe Fri 19-Feb-21 07:37:14

I'm sorry things are so bad FannyCornforth and worry makes you feel even worse physically. I can't offer anything, but no need to apologise. Moan as much as you need to.
Having a moan or a good cry helps. flowers

Marilla Fri 19-Feb-21 09:07:20

Hello Fanny I am so sorry to read that you are having a very difficult time. Is there anyone close by who is able to offer some practical help? I’m sure it’s not in the rule book that we have to suffer in isolation. Is there a family member who could offer support to both of you?
As already said, you are one of the most interesting, funny and generous people on Gransnet. A breath of fresh air. Don’t suffer in silence! ❤️

Mollygo Fri 19-Feb-21 16:34:54

Hello Fanny, sorry to hear things are so bad for you. If you need a moan, do it here and we’ll send virtual hugs.
I’d really miss you if you stopped posting so take care and I hope things improve soon.❤️

FannyCornforth Sat 20-Feb-21 09:30:25

Aah, thank you, nadateturbe, Marilla and Molly for your lovely comments.
I saw them yesterday evening, but felt too emotional to reply (daft woman!)
I'm feeling much better today.
I had 12 hours constant sleep last night!!
I'll be back later. Thank you all again x

nadateturbe Sat 20-Feb-21 22:55:05

Good evening FannyCornforth I'm glad you had a good sleep. It helps.
Hope you are still feeling better and have another restful night.

Nanderin Sat 20-Feb-21 23:41:09

Hi everyone don't think I will get to sleep tonight.

Mollygo Sat 20-Feb-21 23:58:08

Glad to hear you managed a decent sleep Fanny.
What’s up Nanderin? Why don’t you think you’ll manage to sleep tonight?

Kim19 Sat 20-Feb-21 23:58:48

Hopefully you're wrong as it's a bit early to decide. What makes you think so? I've sometimes felt like that but, when snuggled up and horizontal, sleep sometimes won.

crazyH Sun 21-Feb-21 00:03:53

Oh FannyC, whatever the problem is, I hope you’re feeling better. I haven’t back read . You had 12 hours continuous sleep last night.? That’s very good going. I hope I’ll sleep as well as that tonight......
