Izabella, your posts are always a delight to read. I’m glad you’re feeling able to write now, and very pleased, too, for your husband.

Nannytopsy Thu 28-Jan-21 16:02:00

Hello Izabella☹️ and how lovely to see you back. Such good news about your DH. Congratulations to him.

soop Thu 28-Jan-21 15:10:55

Izabella Your post was a delight to read. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to put our minds at rest.

Iam64 Hurrah for your sensible comments.

We've been "jagged". In and out of the surgery in five minutes flat. Saw several mates awaiting their turn in the car park. Nurse was signaling through the window. I have to admit that the experience was the highlight of our week thus far.

Back with you a little later. I'm trying to catch up with a few boring household duties.

annodomini Thu 28-Jan-21 14:41:31

Lovely to see you back here Izabella. Now I am looking out of the window at the tiny raindrops on a skeletal tree. On an otherwise dreich day, it's inspiring to see them with your eyes.
I'm so glad your CH's eye surgery has been a success. Such a relief for both of you.
N&G, hopefully the vet will diagnose and deal with Sam's cyst. It's sad when your loved pet is poorly. There must be all too many of us here who can relate to your anxiety.
soop, good luck with that engineer. Is it still the same one, or have they found another who might know a little bit more? I hope it won't be a 'Friday afternoon' job! ?

Jaxjacky Thu 28-Jan-21 13:53:25

Izabella I am new here too, welcome back.
Best wishes too for all poorly pets.

brook2704 Thu 28-Jan-21 13:46:38

Sorry to hear about the poorly doggies N&G and muse I hope they’re both sorted out and back to normal soon
Izabella I don’t think we’ve met before as I’m fairly new to soops lovely kitchen but it’s good to meet you and it’s great news about your DH sight - wishing him all the very best.

silverlining48 Thu 28-Jan-21 13:14:59

Izabella so pleased to hear from you, your posts are a delight. I too had been thinking of you, hoping that you were ok, and you are. Good news your CH is back behind the wheel. We have just cancelled DH cataract surgery, as we are in an area of high infection so thought it for the best. Can’t wait to be called fir our vaccinations, being at the end of the line is discombobulating. I fear we have been forgotten, but there is still time for they who arrange this to get in touch. It will be a very happy day.
Ignore any annoying buggeration, (as Soop would say,) and keep in touch.

muse Thu 28-Jan-21 12:58:27

NanaandGrampy Hope the cyst can be removed safely. Good luck. It is a worry. I was at the vet yesterday (urgent visit).

He could find nothing wrong with Mya. Did a thorough examination. Poor thing.
She has had the same treats for a long time. Nothing's changed on her diet. He thinks it may be IBS sad. Recommended change of food.
New food on order with delivery (tomorrow). It's chicken and rice with no additives at all.
Callistemon. Read your comment about Cornish gouda. I live 1/2 hour drive away from them so will pay a visit when safe enough to do so. Their website shows they have sold out of all but one of their cheeses. That good TV for you. Wasn't the series fantastic. Well done to Rick Stein. I walked as far as his old house with my daughter when she visited last August. Think it's now a holiday let.

Iam64 Thu 28-Jan-21 12:54:15

NanaandGrampy, sorry I meant to send positive vibes to Sam. Dogs are so much part of our families, even more so during these difficult lockdown days

Marydoll Thu 28-Jan-21 12:50:41

Izabella, I am delighted to see you posting and thank you for sending your good wishes after my recent heart attack. Your kindness in the midst of your own troubles gave me such a boost. ?

Iam64 Thu 28-Jan-21 12:47:56

Hello, I rarely post here but had to pop in after reading the Where is Mick post, which highlights another missing poster.
I may be about to be deleted for the first time but here goes.
I’ve worked out who the missing poster being talked about in this friendly, supportive kitchen is.
I agree with others who were here when Greatnan’s disappearance led to so much support from posters.
I feel sad and angry that a long term, much loved poster has been treated so badly. This forum will be a poorer, less interesting place without her.

Good afternoon from the Shire. Everything sodden, dripping and puddled and we are surrounded by grey brooding clouds. However. On rising earlier I noted that the tree outside the bedroom window was covered with the tiniest drops of water at the ends of its fractals. The little light available caught them and the effect was a magical looking tree almost illuminated with a thousand micro bulbs. Stunning . I was also cheered by the increasing birdsong. Courtship in the treetops can be observed. Wonderful.

Talking of being cheered it was lovely of you annodomini to ask about me recently. My pal has brought me up to date in kitchen terms and told me.

I have not posted for quite a while due to a string of personal upsets, but I will not burden you with details. Suffice say I have dusted myself down, drawn breath and moved on best I can

Good news is that current husband CAN NOW SEE following some rather complex eye surgery at a centre of excellence. He actually drove a few days ago, albeit one of the farm vehicles as our battery was flat after 9 months!

Sorry to learn of your communication problems dear soop and I hope your problems are soon resolved.

Now at the risk of being chastised, and being a person who has not posted for a while, I just want to add how wonderful it was to know someone was asking where I was. Thank you. At the end of the day if we cannot acknowledge the basic philosophical tenet of respect for the person and enquire about those whom we care -then what sort of world do we live in? I shall not comment further.

Welcome to anyone new, heartfelt wishes to all, and keep safe in these uncertain times.

Bellanonna Thu 28-Jan-21 12:28:01

Fingers crossed for tomorrow afternoon then, soop.

soop Thu 28-Jan-21 12:19:10

That should have been smile wink grin

soop Thu 28-Jan-21 12:18:44

Re the recent kerfuffle... let us keep our powder dry and continue to befriend each other in our time honoured tradition. flowers sunshine [smaile]

soop Thu 28-Jan-21 12:15:12

N&G For dear Sam - gentle hugs from us lot. You are a very important pet.

Brief visit until we return from having the "jag" as they say in Scotland.

Latest BT news update. An engineer will call tomorrow afternoon. That will be seven weeks since our first call to the helpline.

Callistemon Thu 28-Jan-21 11:39:22

Oh dear, poor Sam, perhaps the vet will be able to drain it for him and/or give some antibiotics? I hope so (and I can sympathise as I'm suffering with one as well).

Our "grand-dog" had to go to the vet the other week, he had to be handed over at the door as no-one was allowed in with him, a bit scary for a very young dog. He's fine now after treatment.

Doodle Thu 28-Jan-21 11:29:42

N&G my DH has a cyst on his back (not as furry as Sam) and on occasions it suddenly flares up turns red and inflamed. As soon as it is dealt with and the pressure is eased it goes back to being pain free. Poor Sam hope he gets help soon.

Charleygirl5 Thu 28-Jan-21 10:25:21

Poor Sam, I know just how his mum and dad feel. Hopefully the vet will be able to sort out the problem and it is not too expensive.

Greyduster Thu 28-Jan-21 09:40:59

Fingers crossed for the lad, N&G. Give his ears tickle from me.

baubles Thu 28-Jan-21 09:31:35

NG as a lifelong dog and cat companion I know just what you mean about Sam not being himself, poor thing.

Life is at best odd and at worst horrendous for people just now, I just wanted to pop in to say hello.

NanaandGrampy Thu 28-Jan-21 09:22:24

Morning all ,

I am in a less mischievous mood today !

Hope everyone is well and is not having to think about building an ark as we are ! Its been raining forever ( well that's what it feels like !)

Just waiting for a call back from the vet. Poor old Sam is unwell. He has had a cyst on the back of his neck for months that has given him no trouble. Now in the space of 24 hours its grown to egg sized and is clearly troubling him . To add to that he's just not himself ( and those of you who have pets will know what I mean). So we have to find out if the vet can see him and the no doubt complicated procedure to do so.

So please keep your fingers crossed for the old chap. I dont like to see him so poorly x

Yes, you can dance about sexily ( think Abigail’s Party) with a drink in one hand and a fag in the other.Or am I thinking of Princess Margaret?
