Older neighbours making me smile...

I've done a similar thread.
Although it is 100 % a wonderful thing, the vaccine has come a little bit late for some (many) people.
I do wish people would show some empathy and tact.

Lovely they have something to feel happy about. I’m with you vampirequeen. It made me smile.

The vaccine has been built up by the politicians and the media as our Get Out Of Jail Free card - which it isn’t- so who can blame them,
Added to which, there is frankly the square root of bu**er all to talk about or for many people, to look forward to.
Indulge them and be pleased for them - judging by GN these days it is a major preoccupation with a lot more than your neighbours.

vampirequeen good for them, as MawBe said, nothing much else going on, it must feel like an inching forward when we have so little control over much else.

I took my mother for hers recently, and she said she felt too guilty to mention it to others, because of all the people who weren't as lucky as she was.

I was offered a sticker when I had my flu jab - if I’m offered one after my Covid jab I will wear it proudly!!

The more people I hear that have had the vaccine the more it makes me smile too. My parents have both received it and I've never felt so relieved in my life. They were both given stickers which made them smile. It will be a while before DH and I will done but every vaccine given brings us a step nearer.

I got a text while out walking this morning and booked mine for Friday. Sorry but I was so excited!
Also very lucky I know as I’m 71.

Not a lot to get upbeat about at the moment so I’m not apologising for it.

Obviously in an ideal world there would be enough vaccine to sort everyone out straight away but not possible.

Good news is not welcome by the GN hit squad! We are supposed to wallow in misery until the left wing stop stabbing each other in the back and start to remember they are supposed to be in opposition to the Conservatives, not each other!

Starting to hear of people younger than us getting the vaccine locally but presume they have some underlying condition.

I’ll be relieved when our time comes.

I feel that anyone getting the vaccine is a step towards freedom for all of us.

It was exciting to be invited for my vaccination. In addition to being a legitimate reason to go somewhere. Anywhere. It felt like the beginning of the end. ?

Be happy for them, I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t be.

I trust you abstained from alcoholic refreshment before and after ?? It has been mooted as a requirement.....

I had a sticker with time of jab clearly on it so that the person manning the place where we had to sit for 15min before able to leave, knew when we could safely leave. Then it was binned of course.

I shan't be apologising when I get mine.
If ever at this rate.
Much younger people than me have had it already.

Lemsip yes, we had those stickers, and I was amused to see several people in the 15 min waiting area had actually stuck it on their coat.I just noted the time then screwed it up in my pocket.I thought that magnificent coloured stickers had been awarded to some.?
Lucca yes, I had a good swig of the vodka in my hip flask before and after.

I have a sticker, but it's inside my phone case along with the card giving the date and batch of my vaccination. I'm certainly not going to wear it on my coat. Who do they think we are? 6-year-olds?

I'm SO delighted for them and everyone else who has been jabbed. Reluctantly admit to being a little bit envious. My day will come........

My 96yr old mother-in-law has just had her first vaccine. The paperwork she was given said she must have her second dose in three weeks. She is adamant that this will happen because her information says so (even though we explained the 12 werks).

I feel happy for anybody who has had the jab, the faster it is rolled out the better, for ALL of us.

I’m almost 81 and nobody’s offered me the vaccine yet.
